Ko-Ed is the best chocolate shop in Buffalo, bar none. Their pecan frogs are a personal favorite, but everything they make is delightful. They are worth the drive and more than worth the price.

If somehow you're a Buffalo-native and you don't know about Ko-Ed Candies, what in the world have you been doing, living under a rock?! This is the single best candy store I've ever been in. The candy always looks awesome and tastes even better, and there's a darn-good reason they're famous for their sponge candy! It's simply the best around. We even go here just to get candy to send to family members in other states because they miss it so much. Seriously, if you haven't been there yet, get there YESTERDAY! You absolutely will not be disappointed!

I have been ordering from this store for many years and will never buy from another place. The sponge candy is the absolute best! I order online as I’m no longer in the area and have never had a problem yet. The service is outstanding and the products are top shelf! My entire family orders from them and we are very picky when it comes to chocolate. The advent calendar is very cool and delicious. I would recommend to everyone, you will not be disappointed.

This is our "go to" even though we have moved to Colorado. We visit annually when we are back home and order one time of year for delivery. Absolutely love Ko-Ed. Their sponge candy is the best around. The staff are always so friendly and there is a huge variety of chocolates. We even have converted family members who previously purchased sponge candy from competitors.

I bought 2 lbs of mixed chocolates for my friend for special occasion and 3lbs sponge to send for holidays always consistently awesome. Best candy in the city. Love Ko Ed always friendly always stocked. If you're on the Facebook friend list they make special candy for special occasions! The chocolate covered strawberries are to die for!

I am sorry to give this review as we have enjoyed the sponge candy and chocolate covered popcorn for decades. Last year we purchased dark choclate covered popcorn for Christmas.....opened it and every bit tasted like orange choclate---clearly labeled as regular dark choclate. This year we went back to milk choclate popcorn which was good and milk choclate sponge.....the sponge was-----orange. The label clearly said regular not orange so its not a literacy issue. Not really something you make a stink about with guests present. For the expense.... things need to be done better. EDIT 12-26-24....The company did respond to address the issue and we conversed via email....Ko Ed has always been great and hopefully that continues going forward.

Been going for Easter chocolate for a very long time and today I stopped for a little chocolate for my grandson.i used to get different things in the past but only down for a few things now .I got his 2 favorites chocolate covered Oreos and chocolate covered pretzels I know they will be fresh and delicious.i got myself a coconut Pattie one per package.I love these you can taste the toasted coconut as you eat it! it crunches in your mouth and so fresh . They have everything for your Easter basket from chocolate suckers to flats, every kinds of molded animals, sponge candy, orange,white ,dark and milk chocolate everything is so fresh and creamy the best place in South Buffalo or any place in the area.stop by for your Easter chocolate or anytime they are open you won't be disappointed

Love their sponge candy, did a presentation on the business for a business project, classmates loved them and so did the teachers. Ko-ed candies has a long history and it was really fun to learn about and present.

I stopped in here while in town for work to find out about the sponge candy. I ended buying three different kinds and a few other novelties for Valentine's Day. The staff was very friendly and they even wrapped my little box. I can't wait to try my treats and share them when I get home.

I LOVE Ko-Ed Candy! Best sponge candy in WNY, and my son in law loves your macadamia nut turtles. They made wonderful chocolate shamrocks that we gave as favors as my sister's shower. Just the best, best candy! Definitely one of the places I miss now that I'm in South Florida instead of South Buffalo.

This place was delicious!! It smelled amazing as soon as you walked in. We got a whole bunch of stuff: peanut butter smoothies, coconut clusters, chocolate covered peanuts and sugar cookies. Wow everything was so good. There chocolate is delightful. The coconut clusters were amazing and I want more as I am writing this. Street parking and there is free gift wrapping which is always cute! Stop here!

Great local candy shop. There is a good choice of chocolate goodies including the Buffalo favorite sponge candy. The quality of the chocolate is very good.

This is the best chocolate available in WNY. It's a small mom and pop shop that had so many different kinds of chocolate, fudge, candies and Buffalo items. Their most prized offering is their sponge candy. It's so creamy and crunchy and delicious! You have to try their chocolate covered Oreos too! The service is always polite and will help you find the perfect gift. Around Mother's day they have chocolate covered strawberries available and there are no words to describe how perfect those are. If you like chocolate, you must come here, you won't regret it!

Use to like Ko-Ed candy, but not anymore!! Absolutely terrible customer service, when I wanted to return candy that was obviously was bitten into, they accused "someone in your house" doing that. I opened it & there was nobody else with me. Please why would I go through all that? Bring back the previous owners!!!

Customer service is zero Stars!! Bought a box of candy (4 pics. For $6.00) . Each piece was bit in half & disgusting. Should of taken a picture so I could post that also. When we returned it they were very rude, said our kids must of done it, (we have none) & we do not lie. ​

I live in Hawaii and I'm unsure of how many of you realize but being out in the middle of the ocean on an island gives you little access to (delicious) candy stores. I'm fortunate enough to have my cousin that went to buffalo to visit family stop in this candy store and she sent me two of the dark chocolate sponge candy bars and I cannot believe how delicious they taste. I am going to savor the second one for at least a week....or at least I hope I can hold out that long. I grew up in buffalo and always had watson's or Fowler's chocolate, but from now on this is my go to spot. I hope they have an online ordering system so I can send gifts to family during holidays and special occasions!

This place has my favorite sponge candy. It has a great sponge to candy ratio. Wednesday the 2nd I stopped in here because it was my birthday. They were having a 25% off sale from the 1st until the 3rd so I decided to treat myself to a few too many things. I bought chocolate laced popcorn, chocolate covered potato chips, while chocolate sponge candy, a small chocolate buffalo sucker, a huge balloon cookie, some small buffalo chocolates, and a peanut butter stick. The white chocolate covered sponge candy is amazing!!! I've never had anything like it before. The storefront is so cute and fall-like. It's very inviting!!! Honestly the customer service is fantastic!!! They threw in a free candied apple when I told them about my birthday and everything else I had going on. I unnecessarily spent just under $33.00 on things for myself, my niece, and my best friend, but this place is worth it. I'll definitely be back!!!

This place is great. A little pricey but very much homemade and high quality. We have been coming here since we were kids and continue to get treats for mom from here. Excellent products and always freshly bagged. The smell alone is worth a visit and if you are into chocolates, check this place out! Worthy of noting that during the holidays, these ladys wrap items for free and they do an amazing job! The sponge candy and clusters are very very good and worth the money you will shell out here. I am pretty positive they craft all products on site and nothing is really commercial or shipped in other then ingredients. Small store and family run, this place will have a ton of selections when you visit. Parking is off street only. A+ and a solid 5 stars all day.

Both employees working when I stopped in to buy Christmas candy were so helpful and friendly. I got sponge candy as gifts, and an advent calendar for my family. The advent calendar had an assortment of chocolates in it that are all so good! Will definitely be returning in the future.

I'm a Buffalo native that lives all the way on the West coast. Each time I come home, I've got to have all the usual treats of Buffalo, one of them being sponge candy. I like to visit different shops to support all the small businesses and to try each shops variety. This time around for the 2018/19 holidays, I came upon Ko-Ed Candies. If anything, you have GOT to go in and try their peanut butter sponge candy. The creamy peanut butter and it's chocolate go so great with the sponge. None of the shops I've visited have done it as well as these guys. Seriously, grab yourself a small bag and share the love of their amazing pb sponge candy.

I was turned onto sponge candy years ago, by a former coworker who grew up in Buffalo. I've been hooked ever since, and Ko-Ed is my shop of choice. They've updated since the first time I visited in 2016 - there's new signage, and the sponge seems much more consistent in size and shape. I am very happy for them, but I definitely miss the handmade charm. The reason why I love Ko-Ed is that they offer a peanut butter version of their sponge candy. Their standard sponge has a wonderful crunch while still melting away in your mouth, and their chocolate has a consistency and texture that other artisan sponge makers cannot match. Add a thin layer of peanut butter between the chocolate and sponge, and you have the stuff dreams are made of. You definitely get what you pay for here, the quality is superb. As a Bostonian, a trip to Buffalo just for candy is absurd, but luckily Ko-Ed sells their sponge online!

Sponge candy in Buffalo doesn't get better that Ko-Ed Candies. Absolutely amazing chocolate and their peanut butter sponge candy is something so sweet you'll be coming back for more. Chocolate is on the expensive side but definitely worth it. Small shop right in south buffalo with a helpful staff

I recently moved back to buffalo and made a stop at ko-ed candies for easter chocolate. I got some melt away fudge, oh my gosh, this stuff is amazing. SO GOOD.

This is the best sponge candy in Buffalo. The chocolate has a very specific flavor that seems to be missing from many other sponge candy makers. It is dynamic and excellent whether you are buying sponge candy, Charlie Chaplins, chocolate covered cordial cherries, etc. Charlie Chaplins are homemade marshmellows covered in coconut and chocolate. People might comment about the prices, but you are getting what you are paying for. The candy here is well worth the price. You can buy candy by the pieces, by different portioned boxes, and they usually have wrapped boxes that are perfect as presents. I have converted many Buffalonians to Ko-ed from many of the other local sponge candy shops. If you are skeptical, be sure to try it and check it out for yourself. They also have great sales right after holidays and at the end of the sponge candy season. They close for the summer as you cannot make sponge candy when it is hot outside.

I ordered candy for Valentine's Day. The candy was delicious, and the customer service was great, too. When I called about a problem with shipping, the woman I spoke to on the phone was very understanding and helped solve the issue. Highly recommend ordering sponge candy from here!

Sponge Candy and non periels are amazing. I'm from Buffalo and live in Dallas....I always plan my trips home around their open season...otherwise my trip wasn't worth it!
