I’ve Lived in Thailand for 12 Years and These Are My 6 Favorite Islands in the Country

"A slender isle known for its lush natural park; its eastern side is flanked by a notable beach that offers clear water and easy access to snorkeling and stand-up paddleboarding." - Jeninne Lee-St. John

10/10 beach. Shallow turquoise water, almost white powdery sand, just a few rocks and small reef further out. The resorts are chill. 11.30AM-3.00PM day trip tourists flood in

It's a peaceful, beautiful island with very few people.. I can understand when people call it paradise..

Spent five amazing days on Koh Kradan, and it was everything I hoped for—relaxing, beautiful, and untouched. We stayed at Koh Kradan Beach Resort, where the staff were so friendly, and the food at the restaurant was delicious. The island itself is pure paradise. Paradise Beach had the clearest water, perfect for swimming and lounging. We took a private long-tail boat tour to Koh Ngai and nearby islands, snorkeling in crystal-clear waters and exploring hidden spots. Walking around the island was lovely too, especially heading to Sunset Beach for the most incredible sunsets. Ao Niang Beach was rockier but still stunning. At night, the sky was unbelievably clear—we saw stars, planets, and constellations! I’d definitely come back and highly recommend visiting this beautiful, peaceful island if you’re looking for a chill escape. Already dreaming of my next trip!

We arrived at Koh Kradan by boat around 10 AM, and there were very few people on the island at that time, it felt peaceful and untouched. Upon arrival, you need to pay an entrance fee of 200 baht for adults and 100 baht for children. There are no proper bars or restaurants on the island, just a small shack that sells Coca-Cola, water, and some snacks like chips. By noon, the island started to get much more crowded. The sea also changed, the tide came in and the water was no longer as crystal clear as it was in the morning. There are restrooms available, as well as an outdoor shower, which is a nice touch if you’ve been swimming.

Even though it is very crowded at Koh Kradan, when you walk to the sides of the islands, you are still almost alone as everyone just stays near the pier. The water is even more beautifully blue on the sides! It is a true paradise island, and you can see why it was voted as best beach in the world before.

Koh Kradan is a beautiful island, definitely worth coming and staying here for at least a couple of days. An island has 3 beaches: main beach, sunset beach and ao-nieng beach. That is not a party island, that is a quiet, relaxing place with beautiful nature. We stayed at Paradise Lost Bungalows resort, it is the only resort which is situated in the jungle, in the middle of the island which is very convenient location to all of 3 beaches.

There are only four hotels on the east side of the island, all of which have private beaches. Even if you go 200 meters from the shore, the water does not reach your waist and is crystal clear. You won't get bored even if you lie on a chair all day. We stayed at Seven Sea Resort.

Our Hosts at The Sunny Hill Villa arranged a day trip to the Island for our party, private long tail boat who drop you to the beach and the relaxed and waited for our return. The beaches were stunning!! The Snorkeling, incredible! The water is crystal clear and warm. Fish colourful and inquisitive! There are a couple of resorts on the beach so we grabbed a drink or two and had an amazing day! I would add this island to your list if you have the time!! Fantastic reccomendation from The Sunny Hill Villa and thank you for arranging the whole thing for us. 10 out of 10!
