Ko Phra Thong

This is such a magical place. Some part of the savanna looks like desert while others might look like a jungle. The sunrise is spectacularly breathtaking. We utterly enjoy the mesmerizing scenery and serene sentiment.

Very beautiful and remote island. The beach is terrific but sandflies, mosquitoes and big noisy bugs take my score down.

This place pure paradise. Different Thailand unique nature and great people. Perhaps this type of vacation is not suitable for everyone; there are no five-star hotels and numerous restaurants on the island. But those who want to stay away from the noisy tourist areas will most likely like it. The island has only one road through the savannah and a couple of shops. One of the few places in Thailand where time has stood still.

My wife and I just got back from our second two-week trip to Koh Phra Thong. Our experience in a bungalow on the beach was so great we went back this year to the same bungalow (Hornbill). The Moken Eco is the best place to stay on the island - the people are polite, the food is good, and the location is perfect. Note that there are lights and fans, but no A/C, of course. The internet & charging sockets are limited to the dining area. Not the most happening place for teenagers, but good for couples, small kids and those who want to get off the grid.

If you like uncrowded, pristine islands that have somewhat of a challenge to get to, this island is for you. Quiet, with a savanna-like interior, a western coast that is practically an uninterrupted beach and an eastern one full of mangroves, Ko Phra Tong is a gem

The new unseen island. Peaceful, nice sky and crystal sea.

A little effort to get there, but no place like this place.
