The 19 Best Maui Restaurants for Poke, Homemade Desserts, and More | Condé Nast Traveler

"The Fairmont Kea Lani is one of the most visually striking resorts in Wailea, and its signature restaurant adds to this out-of-time feeling, especially at night, when the ocean breezes lull guests into a blissful state of happiness. Kō executive chef Jonathan Pasion, a Maui native, has put together a plantation-era style menu that reflects the immigrant culture of Hawaii and demonstrates the culinary influences of Chinese, Filipino, Portuguese, Korean, Japanese, and Hawaiians. The menu is not broken down into starters and entrees, but rather “mo’ono”, delicious and favorable small plates; “pupu”, appetizers; “lawai’a”, fresh catch served in two different ways; “makai”, from the sea; and “mauka”, from the land. With rich options in each category, it’s possible to have one mo’ono and one pupu and be completely satisfied, and everything is made with the freshest seafood, meats, and  local produce. A few standouts are the coconut curry soup, the fresh catch served in the lemongrass coconut broth, the lobster tempura and the crispy pork shank. If you have room for dessert, opt for the Maui take on a cheesecake, which is slightly deconstructed and made with a toasted coconut-graham cracker crust." - Juliana Shallcross, Kris Fordham

Food was delicious and well-presented. Our top items were the honey lavender shrimp, short ribs (delicious in every iteration across the Kea Lani hotel offerings), and the fresh catch. Octopus appetizer was good, but not great. Tempura lobster was good, but very one-dimensional. Fresh catch, short ribs, and octopus represented in attached photos. I will note that the fresh catch rivaled Mama’s Fish House in terms of quality of the fish, preparation, and overall experience.

KO in the Fairmont hotel is a very upscale restaurant with a positive upbeat vibe. We’ve been to this hotel before and ate at the fish market restaurant which was very good but a little stuffy compared to KO. The staff was very accommodating. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and explained all of the dishes very well and his recommendation for me was spectacular. The presentation was spectacular and something you would see on TV. Oliver food was great. We had fish and steak and a side of noodles would definitely stop back in here and have a great meal if you’re on the fence of looking for something stop by here and you won’t be disappointed.

IMO, Ko's menu got a whole lot better under their new chef. ATMOSPHERE: Located poolside in the Fairmont Kea Lani. The open air restaurant features trendy decor, spacious booths, high tops, regular tables, and odd bar seating that's split in half; one half of the circular bar is traditional seating while the other half sits on the floor below about 4 steps down, giving diners privacy but no view of anything besides the wall holding up the bar counter. BEVERAGE: Afternoon Ti Vodka-based mojito-like cocktail. FOOD: Their old menu was overpriced, underwhelming Filipino cuisine. Not anymore! Ahi on the Rock Cook it yourself fresh tuna pieces on a blazing hot rock. Very good. Ahi Tataki on Shrimp Toast Flavorful with nice textures. Chilled Bang Bang Chicken & Somen Noodles. Tasty & refreshing. Lavender Honey Crispy Shrimp Traditional dish. Crispy and not overly sweet. Paniolo Bone-In Ribeye Great flavor! SERVICE: Consistently good. TIP: They're currently closed for renovations as of this review.

Google
We were extremely impressed by the delicious food and amazing service! Zee was fantastic! He explained everything to great detail and answered all of our questions about the restaurant and resort as if he had been there forever. He made us feel so welcomed. He knew ever ingredient and how everything was prepared. We enjoyed our delicious non alcoholic cocktails. From the salad, appetizers, the main course, and dessert, everything tasted fresh and very flavorful. They have a wonderful variety of plates. I'm interested in trying more! We had a great table with views of the pool. Live music by a solo guitarist. Our evening couldn't have been more perfect! We have tried many restaurants throughout Maui, and I will say Kō is at the very top! Casual yet fine dining!

The food at Kō was spectacular! We called in and reserved a table just 10 minutes before arriving, and everything went smoothly. Our waitress Morgan was incredibly hospitable, and the service was exceptional. Highly recommend!

Google
The service and ambiance are great but the food is not so memorable considering the price. The soup was basically like a thick curry, the Lau Lau fish was overcooked, the shrimp appetizer was the best of all our choices. The front row seat to the for show was pretty awesome.

Google
Loved our anniversary dinner at Ko. I agonized over where to go because I struggle with feeling like fine dining is really worth the price tag. At one point I had reservations at 4 different restaurants! But I'm glad we settled on Ko. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and accommodating. They even gave us a card for our anniversary! We each got a different fish preparation and both were awesome and tasted fresh. And don't forget to order the banana bread dessert. It was SO YUMMY!!

Google
I took my family here to celebrate my wife's birthday, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The warm, family-friendly atmosphere was perfect for a special occasion. The dress code was reasonable and added a nice touch of elegance without being too formal. And the food—simply outstanding! It was a memorable evening, and we’ll definitely be coming back.

Yelp
The service is top notch! I recommend making reservations a few days ahead or just walking up. Went there twice in a week since it was so good! The pork buns were simply amazing. Not too fatty just right with a good sour pickle topping that balanced the fish. The shrimp is probably my favorite and the batter was light with a very tasty aioli sauce (I think) The octopus was definitely not something I would order again and was just kind of mid. I forgot to take a photo of the rib eye steak and that was amazing as well. I would order it a temp under what you normally get (ordered rare and came out medium rare) also ordered medium rare and it was pretty much medium well done. It's definitely cooked over charcoal or wood and have a great smoky taste!

Yelp
Service was great! Our waitress couldn't have been nicer! But the Food--- yikes. We were really looking forward to this meal since the reviews were awesome and the pics looked great. Boy were we wrong! Mediocre drinks, and the food was gross. The lumpia was so Dry inside the overly fried to smithereens. The pork belly bao buns-- a sad take on the what bao buns usually look like and tasted just wrong. We took one bite and that's all we could. The fish with lemongrass coconut broth was just super dry as well and inedible. So disappointing.Left hungry and just like we wasted a beautiful evening and $200 bucks. I wouldn't ever come back here and wouldn't not recommend. I'm actually really confused about whatever everyone else is saying about is being great because our experience was completely opposite. If I were you, hard pass, go elsewhere! Having awards and a wonderful chef doesn't matter if the food on the table is inedible.

Yelp
The food was excellent, and the service was professional and gracious. Despite booking far in advance when every time slot was available, calling the week of to note the occasion and request a decent table, and even speaking with a host in person the day before, we were seated outside the main dining room, next to the hotel restrooms, facing its hallway. I understand that desirable tables are limited and that no request can be guaranteed. Still, it was disheartening to spend the evening in what felt like an overflow area, surrounded by three empty tables, in front of the host stand, watching other guests enjoy the view, the architecture, and the full experience. We had no choice. We were facing the main room, and the main room faced the ocean. I don't know what more I could have done to communicate this request. After a week of walking past Ko, I still don't know what it feels like to sit inside. We've never made it past the lobby. I brought my Korean family to a Korean restaurant hoping for something meaningful. When I expressed my disappointment, I was met with a blank stare. Whatever the formula is for being seated inside at Ko, we clearly didn't crack it--and probably never will.

Yelp
This place was great to stop at for happy hour! The drinks were good. The edamame was so yummy- very bare bones served cold with salt and lemon juice but it was addicting. Hurricane fries are always delightful and I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the tuna roll! Very fresh. No super groundbreaking flavors but who can say no to sushi. Would recommend!

Yelp
We loved the food and service at this restaurant on Wailea, Maui. It's part of the Fairmont Hotel, so it is pricy, but we thought it was a great splurge. The Mai tai was so yummy! Sweet and flavorful. We had the Mauka harvest salad. This was prepared with really lovely greens, fern shoots, hearts of palm, and roasted macadamias. I could have this and nothing else and I would have been happy. But did I? Of course not! Next my sons had the fish of the day course and they liked that. I had the vegan udon noodles and they were stunning! Of course I ate the entire bowl. I could've also stopped there, but I was on a roll (and on vacation), so we had dessert. It was an amazing house made banana bread soaked in rum with vanilla ice cream and a crumble on top. I've gained 5 lbs just writing this. It was really good, but after all we ate, no one could finish. Next time we will order one to split! And there will be a next time!

Yelp
Really a wonderful meal tonight we started off with some sushi, which had Ahi at the center and a tempura outside finish. My parter had Shiso sour and I had the little Koi Lilikoi margarita both were good flavorful, but not overpowering. It's a nice open air restaurant, and we got to see the holiday decorations from our table. My partner had the lobster tempura and I had the mar jon fish mine came with some local mushrooms that were super tasty and I love the texture. Cas our server was attentive and warm. She did a little mini wine tasting for us of what would go best with our fish. She recommended for dessert the ultimate banana bread which is topped with fantastic homemade ice cream and rum sauce. The food runner put a show pouring the rum sauce over the ice cream. It was fun. I liked the ice cream's marshmallow is like flavor marshmallow. The vanilla rum the pecans just made it really creamy texture . This is something I would not miss. It was great pre-holiday dinner out.

Yelp
Wow!!! Such fantastic views!! Figure out what time sunset will be and get yourself to a table to catch the incredible views! The food was fantastic! We got the lau lau and the Mahi Mahi special. All fantastic but what really took the cake (or the bread) was the dessert. The banana bread is something my partner will still not shut up about and will tell anyone who will listen even now - 3 months after our visit. The service was hit and miss. The manager was phenomenal and checked on us and joked with us. He did a great job of making sure everyone was having a good time. Our server seemed to keep forgetting about us. He was super at attentive to another couple who sat down after us, ordered after us, and got each of their courses before us. It wasn't a kitchen issue, he just kept checking on them more and forgetting about us even though we were just a table over from them. He'd often walk by and forget about our empty plates, empty water glasses and empty cocktail glasses. It didn't feel great to not feel like our business or experience was valued.

Yelp
The food here is stellar. Lobster tempura is a must. The batter is light and fluffy-- oh so good. The pancit with steak was also tasty. Drinks are fun. It's outdoors so just mind the weather when you go!

Yelp
We dined here twice during our stay at the Fairmont Kea Lani and had amazing experiences both times. The first time we came for dinner we were served by Z who provided exceptional service. He took his time in explaining the different items on the menu and was very attentive. We got the octopus appetizer to start, which was light and delicious! For entrees I got the mahi mahi in the lemongrass curry which was overall good, the curry was delicious though the mahi mahi was a bit plain. Hubby got the lau lau and enjoyed it. Presentation was beautiful! The second time we came for dinner during a super busy evening but they were able to get us in at the bar (our fault for not making reservations). I didn't get the names of the bartenders but it was a man and a woman and they were both great at checking on us and providing anything we needed. We got the lavender honey shrimp as an appetizer - AMAZING, so crisp and flavorful. I ordered the pancit for my entree which was flavorful, the steak and shrimp were great and the noodles and sauce it came with were delicious! Hubby got the rib eye and said his steak was one of the best steaks he's ever had. We had the banana bread dessert and YUM it was delicious without being overly sweet, the perfect way to end the meal. The food did take a little while to come out but it was super busy. Since we were staying at the Fairmont, our daughter who is under 2 ate here for free. She enjoyed her beef skewer entree (we got this both times)! And they provided coloring pages and crayons which was helpful to help keep her entertained. Overall highly recommend this restaurant for a fancy meal! I enjoyed the food more the second time but overall had positive experiences both times.

Yelp
The Lavendar Honey Crisp shrimp was so good I couldn't event stand it!!! I didn't even want to drink water because I didn't want the flavor to leave my mouth. In addition to the shrimp, I ordered the lumpia appetizer and made two apps my dinner. I crafted the absolute perfect meal. So flavorful. Such a great restaraunt! Misty was our server and she was a delight. She answered all of our questions.

Yelp
Beautiful venue for a restaurant. The hotel is gorgeous, we walked around a bit after dinner. The restaurant itself had a bit of an odd atmosphere, like a sports bar mixed with an upscale restaurant. There was football on the TVs behind the bar and some hotel guests that may have had a few too many drinks. There was also live music on the night we came, which was nice. But overall confusing vibe when compared to the price point and marketing of the restaurant itself. Service could have been faster but staff seemed spread thin. Was not busy on a Thursday night in November. If you're looking for an island time restaurant and diverse atmosphere, Ko is definitely worth a visit for the food. The papaya salad and short ribs were great. The Pancit was delicious and the highlight of my night! Shrimp and wagyu were done perfectly and the sauces + vegetables were a perfect complement. I would definitely come back if I was in the area, probably not worth the drive if you're coming from another side of the island.

Yelp
Our food was very good! The view was amazing and the ambiance was great. Our server was a bit condescending and we had to wait awhile to get our check
google avatar

Wendi K.

Yelp
I'm beginning to garner a similar reception of all Wailea resort restaurants - absolutely beautiful setting, impeccable, welcoming service - but mediocre and overpriced food. Maybe I am biased for value? The Pork Belly Buns ($24) were small and dry. The bacon jam was a nice touch and the sesame buns were unique. The chicken curry ($58) was also just okay, no spice or anything, sort of watery. Lavender crispy shrimps ($29) were nice though. Our waitress was wonderful.

Yelp
Located in the Fairmont hotel, Kō serves up contemporary island food with casual vibes (but not a casual price tag!). We made a reservation for dinner just before sunset, and while there wasn't a great view of the beach, the open air dining still made watching the sunset possible. Service was super friendly and accommodating. Our server had no trouble giving us recommendations and telling us about his favorite dishes on the menu. We ordered a slew of items to try: Ahi on the Rock, Kinilaw Octopus, Seafood Lau Lau, Venison, Korean Braised Short Ribs, Lobster Tempura, and some desserts. The major winners were the Ahi on the Rock and Lobster Tempura, although everything was tasty in its own right. Ahi on the Rock. Four hearty pieces of raw ahi tuna come with a scalding hot rock that you use to sear your own piece. Honestly, it's Hawaii, so you expect the ahi to be fresh, but something about the novelty of searing your own fish was satisfying and memorable. Lobster Tempura. The major shocker of the evening. The breading was perfectly crispy and not too thick, and the lobster tail itself was cooked well and not rubbery at all. This came highly recommended by our server, but I think we all had our doubts until we tried a piece. The trio of sauces (pineapple sweet chile + miso aioli + calamansi soy) also took it to the next level. Not sure if Kō is a place that we can put in our regular rotation of Maui eats (for the sake of our wallets), but it's definitely worth a visit!
google avatar

Katyayini K.

Yelp
Great service and classy ambiance! The zarzuella was good and so was the Ahi. Although, the Rock for the Ahi could have been hotter. Crudo was nice, but was missing a crispy component to balance out the texture. The shrimp was good but perhaps needed a deeper lavender flavour to it. Drinks were exceptional.

Yelp
Casual, peaceful restaurant tucked away, off to the southern wing of the Kea Lani Fairmont hotel. The restaurant mostly overlooks the southern pool, with very limited views of the ocean (if any). However, the atmosphere and view is still great, nonetheless. The Fairmont grounds are quite attractive, so I didn't mind at all that I didn't have clear views of the ocean. The staff was very friendly (our waiter even shared pictures of their ohana/family) and attentive. Our waiter in particular went out of their way to make sure the kids felt comfortable and were happy with their meals. The food was quite good, and focuses more on Hawaiian-inspired dishes than some of the other resort restaurants. We ordered the following: - green papaya and root salad: Good, reminds me of the papaya salads we order from Thai restaurants on the mainland. - kona kampachi crudo: Delicious! Really liked this dish. Presentation was very nice and flavor was very good. - grilled island catch: Very good, would order again. - seafood lau lau: Fun and unique dish with good flavors, but a bit too coconuty for me. I think this dish would have benefited from some variety in textures, like adding some crispy fresh elements to balance the heavier coconut broth and sweet potato mash. - house made banana bread: Good, but DO NOT let your waiter pour the entire thing of rum sauce on your bread! I felt it was way too sweet with the amount of sauce. Just ask for them to leave the sauce on the side and you can pour to your liking This dinner really made me appreciate the Fairmont more than I had before. Given the presence of at least 2 excellent dining options (Nick's and Ko) and beautiful grounds, I'm seriously considering booking my next stay at this hotel.

Yelp
Located on the bottom floor/ adult poolside of Fairmont Kea Lani. Went here with my wife and son in Valentine's Day for their Happy Hour. We just ordered pretty much everything off the menu and made it our dinner haha (it's easily enough food for 2). Prices are very fair for what you get. The food was amazing and so was the service. The highlights of the meal were the honey shrimp and tempura sushi roll. If you're thinking about getting either, just do yourself a favor and order them. Overall, will definitely be coming back here for a happy hour when we stay at the resort again. Also, it wasn't very crowded when we went so it was definitely

Yelp
Update in 2024: food is still so awesome, everything was delicious from the cocktails all the way to dessert. Ryan was our server and he was amazing along with Roland who continued to share their warmest aloha with us during dinner. Ko is such a great place to get together with family and enjoy the great views.
google avatar

Jack B.

Yelp
I would definitely recommend the Pork Bao Buns and Seafood Lumpia, the tempura lobster also looked amazing (but I did not get to try it this time) For dessert, the calamansi tart was tasty but probably not worth it. Banana bread is served in a cast iron with ice cream, rum sauce, and pecans and was great! Great service and the views of the ocean and hotel was beautiful.
google avatar

Cindy L.

Yelp
We had a spectacular dining experience at Ko in the Fairmont Kea Lani resort. We were seated in a beautiful booth with ocean views. For starters we had the octopus, very soft and delicate taste and the honey garlic shrimp which was perfectly cooked in a light batter. We tried the signature seafood lau lau presented in a banana leaf. This dish had a philipino influence and the light sauce enhanced the freshness of the fish and seafood in the dish. This contrasted well with venison in a savory sauce with cranberries. The service was excellent as well. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Maui.
google avatar

Yu S.

Yelp
We loved the lumpia and crudo. We have been here several times during our stay. Today we sat in the bar, had drinks and ordered apps...bartender was friendly and fun to talk to.
google avatar

Krissy K.

Yelp
Way overpriced for the quality. My husbands stomach didn't feel good after eating there and food tasted mediocre. We had a sushi roll, Kampachi crudo, and chicken a mushroom lumpia. The lumpia was plain and boring, the roll was kinda soggy and the Kampachi was ok. Also had a cocktail which was nothing spectacular. The bill was over 100 for tiny bites and we weren't satisfied. We don't mind paying if it was delicious. Food tasted like a quick service place not a fine dining establishment
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious food, well-cooked food every time we come here. We never mind paying the price when it comes to Ko because it's all worth it. Our server Leanne was the absolutely best. She really took care of us and was so helpful when it came to choosing what to eat. The sunset and atmosphere is also a big factor when coming to Ko! I think it's a great date place or for even special occasions.
google avatar

Chan Y.

Yelp
Amazing design, that nods to agricultural life, open skies, and tropical rains. Favorite dish was the "Lawai'a", translated as Fisherman's Fresh Catch. Had mine prepared with the Macadamia Nut and Kale Pesto option, which also came with a mix of veggies from the island. Delicious appetizers and great drinks as well. Loved the service and the dining environment.
google avatar

Clarissa N.

Yelp
The location of this restaurant was stunning. You get a view of the ocean and we aught the sunset during our dinner. I started with the pork belly bao buns were delicious, I loved the radishes that they put on top. For my entree I got the oishi sushi and this definitely filled me up! The sushi was pretty big since it is fried but the sauce served was paired perfectly with it. I then ended dinner with the house made banana bread. It was warm and moist, everything you could've want! The service was also super friendly with my table. She was constantly check in on us and made sure everything was tasting good,
google avatar

Erika C.

Yelp
Came here with my boyfriend for a romantic dinner and the service and food was exceptional. Everything was prepared with care and even with the higher price tag, there wasn't a lack of flavor and the amount of food you get was so filling. We have made this our go-to fancy dinner whenever we are in wailea.
google avatar

Casey S.

Yelp
Our server Lucie was good. We usually tip 20% but did 25% because it's Thanksgiving today. Curry soup was very tasty. My wife's monchong fish was very good as well was the risotto. I got the ribeye steak, market price, which was $89. The steak looked really good, but unfortunately was not very good. I ordered medium, it was at least medium well verging on well done. It was not tender at all, clearly not a prime steak but likely choice. I could barely cut it with my steak knife. My wife agreed with my assessment. It was like eating a steak I got at Safeway. When I go out, and especially when I spend $89, it better be very good. I chose what I thought are some of the best places to eat while visiting Maui, and this was probably the most disappointing. (Loved Mamas and Banyan Tree. Dukes and Roy's was pretty good). We really did like the ambience though. My son loved his beef skewers on the kids menu. They have a really nice kids menu.
google avatar

Katie H.

Yelp
We are in Maui for a girls trip with just our daughters and decided to go out for a night. We aren't looking to spend an arm and a leg, but wanted to have a good time. Well, we got the good time, but we definitely spent more than we were hoping for. The service was great. From The gentleman who refilled our water to our waitress, who served us most the night, they were on top of it, kind, and just all around fantastic. The seat we were in was kind of back in a corner, so not much to look at, and definitely no view. Not even of the pool. Which was a tad disappointing. The food was delicious. I got the chicken red curry and my friend got the lavender honey shrimp and we all enjoyed the food. Even our little ones really enjoyed it. My gin cocktail was also delicious. This place was so expensive though. We chose it because it had two dollar signs when looking up what price range they fell in, but it was definitely more than that. My daughter and I shared the chicken red curry and I got one cocktail and my bill was $80. So, if you're open to spending a pretty penny for food, that is great, but not exceptional then this is a great place to do it. I mean, I got chicken and spent a good amount. Even the pork chop was $50+. I probably won't go back. I think the food and service were great, but it was really Overpriced.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! In a beautiful resort which has great views at sunset and is lovely to walk around before or after dinner
google avatar

Dave L.

Yelp
We went to Kai at the recommendation of a friend. I would have given them 2 stars but the service saves them. While there is a great view of the ocean, the food was lackluster. I had had wagyu pancrit noodles. The noodles were tasty but the wagyu could have been any old steak. Definitely not like the wagyu in Japan. My wife had a salad but was disappointed in the overall lack of creativity in the ingredients. The wait staff was awesome. By the looks of things in regard to people dining, Nicks was a far more popular spot at the hotel.
google avatar

Dean L.

Yelp
We feel that Ko is the undisputed heavyweight contender in Wailea for dining. The hostesses, wait staff, bussers, servers and bartenders are par-excellence, friendly, conversational and knowledgeable. They are patient and accommodating with your questions, suggestions and beverage and menu questions. The menu itself has been always a top hits selection of the best the chef can offer to a greatest variety of guests. The setting is poolside with glimmers of the beach sunset, maui sky and breezes fluttering through to keep your beverages cool. We started with incredible beverages, that were a refreshing welcome to Ko. Fresh #1 Ahi seared tableside, crispy lumpia and a tempura sushi roll were shared pupus that we enjoyed while we decided on entrees. The only comment would be to serve the fresh fried lumpia with lettuce leaves so you can hold them while piping hot. There were several specials that we chose, a trio of sea scallops, prawns and Mahi, marinated Seared pork chops with noodles and a Seafood pasta were ordered as tastings. All were piping hot, seasoned and attractively presented. The portions were just right. Dessert was a delicious matcha ice with coconut and a shortbread crumble. So refreshing! Drew was an excellent server and we traded old times in the restaurant business.
google avatar

Blake H.

Yelp
Heard great reviews about this place. Food was ok. I wouldn't necessarily rave about it. Service was great! It is termite season on Maui and this is an outdoor restaurant so there were A LOT of termites. Staff was willing to reseat us due to termites.

Yelp
We had our Company Christmas party there and it was awesome. Service, environment and excellent food.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant at the Fairmont Kea Lani. Nice open air dining room. Lively bar to get a mai tai or a glass of wine. The service is excellent. The chef is very talented. The menu changes throughout the years. I loved the miso that they served a few years back. Very creative bread plate. Extremely fresh, local cuisine, with Pacific Rim flair.

Yelp
As for our first date night at KO's restaurant. I'd have to say I was definitely very happy with the entire experience. It all started with a small walk from the parking lot to the restaurant. Which was perfect to work up an appetite for a delicious & very romantic evening. Upon arriving at the hostess stand we were immediately greeted & seated thanks to making prior reservations. Even just walking through the restaurant was absolutely gorgeous. I'll need to come back just to capture what I wasn't able to on my first visit. Like the bar & ambiance. I even liked the style of the chairs. Except my favorite part was our location for our meal. Our view overlooked the hotel, pool, sky & palm trees. This was such a beautiful & very romantic spot to enjoy each another's company. Even our server was very knowledgeable & friendly. Our waters stayed filled & even the GM was making his rounds checking on tables too. The food was also not only beautifully displayed but also tasty too. My boyfriend said the lobster was perfectly cooked & was the best he's ever had on the island. My favorite dish was the Flat Iron Kobe Beef. That sauce & everything on the plate was melt in your mouth happiness. I didn't do this, but I could have licked the plate clean it was seriously that good. The other dish I liked just because of the sauce was the Lavender Honey Crispy Shrimp. Now that flavor made my taste buds very happy. Although I was surprised the dish I was most excited to try wasn't my favorite. The Chilled Bang Bang Chicken & Somen Noodles had all the ingredients for potential. Except it was lacking the explosion of flavor I was expecting & fell more on the bland side. (However after letting it sit over night to marinate it did taste better the next day.) We're so looking forward to our next visit. Thanks again for making dinner. Xoxo ChelsieFletcher

Yelp
Second time to Ko and had a great experience. The coconut curry soup is still my ultimate favorite here!! So so tasty. We also love the lavender honey crisp shrimp app and bao buns. We'll be back again!!

Yelp
Such a great night at Kō. It was our first time and we were not disappointed. Beautiful setting inside the Fairmont. The service was phenomenal. Many thanks to Leanne, Roland, and James. They took great care of us and were continually checking in. Leanne ensured that my food was dairy free and even did some double checking; truly above and beyond. The food and drinks are fantastic. Very creative and even some zero proof drink options...I tried the Lilikoo No-jito and the Hibiscus Fizz; both were tasty, but I liked the Lilikoi No-into a bit more. We enjoyed: the fish special, which was a mahi mahi with 3 prawns, mango salsa, and mashed potatoes, the Zarzuela, which is a tomato saffron broth with lobster, shrimp, scallops, New Zealand mussels, clams, and chorizo and came with a side of rice, and the Seafood Lau Lau which had mahi mahi, scallops, and prawns, spinach, mushrooms, shoyu-coconut milk sauce, lomi tomato, and a side of Moloka'i sweet potato mash. Finished it off with some Poi Mochi with kulolo syrup. Chef's kiss. Mahalo Leanne, Roland, James, and the whole Kō Ohana. Everything was absolutely fantastic and we would come again.

Yelp
Check-in, to seating, to server, to busser, and when we left, everyone was nice. The food was great and delicious, and where we sat it was very roomy, so we're not like squishy. The sunset was beautiful, and the bathroom was near the restaurant. I like how we can just do self park for free. This place is just beautiful.

Yelp
We had a sunset dinner Al fresco and the scenery was beautiful. Our server was very friendly but service was very slow. The walk from the kitchen and dining room seemed long for our servers bringing food out. However, if you're not in a rush, it makes for some wonderful views and pictures. The food was very good, and everyone liked their dishes. If their service was better, I might have given another star. Also, keep in mind since it's Al fresco that there will be some gnats, flies and mosquitoes joining you for dinner to say hi.

Yelp
Kō, which translates to sugarcane in Hawaiian, is inspired by the sugarcane plantation era, a time when people from around the world came to the Hawaiian Islands to work in the sugarcane fields. The food is inspired by this melting pot and you get well-cooked classic food with interesting twists. Garlic Shrimp and Scallop Pancit: Classic Hawaiin garlic shrimp over well cooked pansit noodles, I cleared the entire dish clean. Very good flavors with great mix of greens in the dish, brightened up with a light sprinkling of lemon juice. Zarzuela: Lobster, shrimp, scallops, mussels, clams, and sausage in a tomato saffron broth. Seemed like a Cioppino inspired creation, the seafood was very fresh but the broth is hard to beat at some of the good Ciopinno restaurants in SF. Ahi tataki on Shrimp Toast: Good appetizer to start with, should have ordered two since the kids loved it. Banana Bread Old Fashioned: Rum, scotch, roasted banana and walnuts for flavor. Never had an old fashioned variation like this and tasted appropriate for Hawaii.

Yelp
We came to Kō for drinks only. Offering no vegetarian options on their menu except maybe for an edamame appetizer, we knew this would not be a place to have a meal Drinks on the other hand were fruity & fun. We tried "the long paddle in" because you offer anything with lilikoi, we are going to be fans. This also had raspberry & some rum & it was sweet & tart & refreshing on a hot poolside day Also tried their lilikoi margarita & it was repeat-worthy Happy Hour serves food only on their specials menu but you can definitely enjoy a cocktail alongside or get it to go, as we did

Yelp
My wife and I were staying at the Fairmont, and were recommended Kō by our bartender at Mama's Fish House! He was exactly right. The food and service were top notch. They have a great wine selection at a fair price. DO NOT MISS THE HONEY SHRIMP APPETIZER! I had the paella and really enjoyed it (although it could have used more salt). My wife had the catch of the day and it was delicious. We had the chocolate chantilly cake for dessert (as far as dresser goes it was good but not blow your mind good). I would definitely go back. You can't see the water from the restaurant but the ambiance is nice and you can see the sky change colors at sunset.

Yelp
Had a date night in Maui with hubby and was lucky to get a table here last minute. I am gluten free and let it be known upon being seated. I appreciate the effort put into making sure that I was not consuming anything with gluten. The food was delicious! We started with spicy tuna and the fish was fresh. My main was octopus and it was so ONO!!! Cooked tender and not tough like so many places do. The serving was perfect proportions. Service matched the meal... spot on! I can't wait to return.

Yelp
Very friendly staff, but due to where we were seated, had to wait a while to get our server. Food was just ok, the Angus steak was very chewy, the Lau Lau was kind of bland. Very beautiful outdoor seating but were limited.

Yelp
Made the trek down to Wailea this morning despite hurricane Hone. It was worth it. Fantastic service by Leanne, great to see Moki on the floor, Chef Aris behind the omelettes. So much Ono food, ate a dozen tempura shrimp and many sashimi bowls. the breakfast martini is a must have. live music, mellow vibe. Appreciate the kamaaina love. See you folks again soon.
