Smaller island, main activity for tourists is scuba diving, but we'll worth a visit, for as long as you can spare, even if you are a non diver. Great views, beautiful beaches, fantastic food, friendly people, cheaper than some other islands.

Spending 10 days here for diving which is amazing. As a runner there is not a lot of places to run. There is a main road that is very narrow and dangerous to walk let alone run. The “walking” sidewalk is also used by crazy driving motorcyclists and tons of tourists. Lots of good restaurants and places to shop.

Koh Tao is a paradise for beach lovers and diving enthusiasts! The island offers crystal-clear waters, vibrant coral reefs, and a laid-back atmosphere. Whether you’re snorkeling at Shark Bay, enjoying the sunset at Sairee Beach, or exploring the viewpoints, there’s always something breathtaking to see. The locals are friendly, and there are plenty of cozy cafés and beachfront restaurants to relax in. If you’re looking for a tropical getaway, Koh Tao is a must-visit!

1. Paradise for scuba divers 2. Quietest and most laid back island among three islands in this zone 3. So many diving spots around the island 4. Beautiful underwater around the island with lots of colorful fishes and species 5. Lovely island for people who does not dive. It is lovely for snorkelling and relaxing as it's a laid back island

The island itself is very beautiful, with amazing rock formations, viewpoints, very green. Lots of cheap and good options to eat or have a massage. But also crazy overcrowded, dirty, tiny beaches. Many young people and not only who are looking only to get high and drunk. And then ride on a scooter. Definetely not for chill and families, very loud and party. Corals around the island completely destroyed. Maybe worth diving but no snorkeling. Locals force you to pay for literally everything, taxi mafia makes travelling very expensive. Why i need to pay 100 baht for beach or viewpoint. I travel a lot around Thailand, never seen something like that.

Only a couple swimmable beaches. Freedom beach is best. Many have sharp rocks and shallow water.

A lot of night life, but on all beaches there is entry fee to pay which is really stupid. Island is very small with a lot of big hills if you will run a scooter. Stayed here for 4nights, but 2 would be enough.

From looking at the pictures of this place, I knew we had to visit the island and do some snorkeling and a small hike to the too for the view. We went on a small boat trip and when we arrived mid day it was very busy as its one of the main attractions from Koh Samui. You have to leave your drinks at the entrance and can only buy drinks from inside the island, which typically cost 40bht, not too expensive but alot more than on the main island. To make your way up to the view point you have to walk along a wooden platform around the base of the hill to a set of steps, which are steep and very narrow which makes passing difficult at times depending on footwear. There is a drinks shack at the top if you need a drink and the view at that level is really good but not as good if you can scale steep rocks to get to the best view point right at the top. I wouldn't recommend trying in sandles but is possible and the view is breathtaking. The steps down are alot easier and worth the sweaty head and clothes. The snorkeling is fantastic just off the beach, I wouldn't say the beach is sand to be honest its more broken up coral which can be painful to walk on at times, but we'll worth it. The fish look amazing and for me equal to snorkeling in Egypt. Deffently worth a visit and a day taking in the view and snorkeling.
