I had a great couple of nights here in early April, 2025. The first night I’m pretty sure I was one of the only tourists on the island, and definitely the only one at the area I stayed (right near the boats)
The rangers were super friendly and helpful,
The food was delicious and the portions were large,
I rented a mountain bike from the ranger and rode down the whole island, which was quite hilly (up and down and up and down) and the monkeys weren’t super excited that I existed, but the beaches further down were STUNNING and completely my own to explore.
At the camp, the hornbills would come right up close, the racket tailed drongos would sing to me every morning, and there were hammocks to relax in and read my book while I drank a couple beers (from the shop that isn’t always open when it says it will be)
If you want to see in-spoiled Thailand and not have throngs of tourists ruining it for you, definitely come here.
I 100% would love to come back someday
