We stopped in here for lunch as we visited Chinatown. Food and service were both delightful from Ohara. We ordered both sirloin and the rare cuts. Different flavor profile, with the sirloin being the buttery, melt in your mouth deliciousness. We both preferred the sirloin. The vegetables were no slouch as they were also quite tasty! Would recommend, especially if you're gonna visit Chinatown.

We randomly looked up a Kobe beef restaurant for dinner and we made a reservation on Tabelog website, turned out the restaurant was quite empty when we arrived, so don’t waste money making a reservation. I have been to other Kobe beef restaurants before and had amazing experiences, but this time was really disappointing. The Kobe beef itself was still good quality, but the whole point of teppanyaki is the cooking, and that’s where it fell short. Instead of an experienced chef, they had a really young and inexperienced chef at the grill. The meat wasn’t cooked properly, the timing felt rushed, she cut the meat in different sizes trying to make every person receive an equal amount of beef, and the usual finesse and fun you expect from teppanyaki just weren’t there. At first I thought it was only us who had a young chef, but looking around the restaurant, all chefs were young and inexperienced. For a place that charges a premium price for Kobe beef teppanyaki, I expected way more. It’s not just about the ingredients – it’s about the skill and experience of the chef. For this reason, I don’t recommend this restaurant.

I went to Kobe for this specific experience and it did not disappoint. The food was an absolute chef’s kiss! Thank you, Maruoka and staff, for entertaining us with your cooking and excellent service. The house ended up surprising me with a birthday sparkling candle, delicious dessert, and song to top it all off. What a joy!!

The food was phenomenal. Ina-San walked us through how to prepare each piece of beef with an accompaniment of salt, wasabi, or miso paste. All of it was delicious. I truly can’t say it enough. The beef melted in your mouth and was perfectly juicy and flavorful. We hoarded our last bites of beef and used only the tiniest bit of salt to savor it and taste the Kobe in its purest form. Again, I can’t say it enough, Ina prepared it with the skill and precision of someone who has perfected the craft. Hands down one of the best meals that we’ve had in Japan.

This restaurant is an amazing place to try the KOBR Beef for the first time. The employees help you to decide the best set to order and cook the beef in front of you while explaining the parts. I highly recommend to come and visit

Came to Kobe specifically for Kobe beef and this place is certified to serve it! Thanks to Ina-san for the great experience! He gave us recommendations on how to eat different ways on all pieces of meat and veggies (with the sauces). He spoke to us in English and I felt I should learn more ways to say "this is delicious" in Japanese in response. Every bite was something to savor, no wonder the price is the way it is. It didn't even taste like beef, just a bit of salt and that's enough to enhance the flavor. The staff were all helpful and friendly. Would definitely come again! I'd give 10 stars, thanks again Ina-san!

Over priced restaurant with limited options. Not overly impressed. Between the two of us we ordered one sirloin 165g and shoulder 165g which was too much. We ordered the set and the total bill came to approx ¥46k. Our most expensive meal in Japan and not the best unfortunately. The sirloin was good but a little too fatty for my personal liking. We went to a yakiniku place in Nara where the meat was better and a fraction of the cost so felt disappointed with this experience.

The meat was spectacular—slightly sweet, wonderfully aromatic, and it melted in my mouth. Truly amazing. Chef Ikuta was very kind and cooked the meat to perfection. I highly recommend it.
