Kodchasri Thani Hotel Chiangmai

The hotel has nice size rooms. The AC worked great in 35C heat. Breakfast was included and was decent. Omelette bar and the usual fare. There was a bunch of nice cats that live here. Lilly the orange tabby greeted us every time we came in or out. Always came for a quick scratch There is a bunch of hostels in the area. So some of the tourists are less than ideal of you know what I mean. And sometimes start up the loud music at 3am. No fault of the hotel though. I have never seen a toilet that flushes like the toilet we had. Strange and broke 2 times. Not plugged. Just no flushing, lever issues. Also the wife says it needs a hand held sprayer in the shower. Had a hard time washing her hair and other areas.

A lovely hotel with such happy and accommodating staff. Our room was lovely albeit a bit worn in places but this did not detract from our stay. Bed was comfortable and always plenty of hot water in the walk in shower. Lots of typical Thai features, doors, furniture and hospitality. The cleaning staff were super efficient each day in keeping the rooms clean and tidy for when you returned.||The grounds are immaculately kept and a real joy to enjoy after a day in the heat and walking a lot, The pool was small but well kept – a bit chilly in December !|Staff could not do more to help. We went for an overnight trip to an elephant sanctuary and we were able to leave our main luggage with them until we returned. Also due to an early flight, the team arranged for a breakfast box for us to take with us to the airport.||Breakfast had so much choice, lots of fresh fruit and salad, breads, pastries, bao buns, waffles etc. Plus thai options of curries, noodles and rice. A very well stocked breakfast offering.||Hotel is in a perfect location, 10 min walk to the centre of the Old Town, lots of great places to eat closeby (as no restaurant in hotel), laundry shops and massage options. Great location for the markets, temples and just to wander around the lanes of Chiang Mai.||Loved the presence of the hotel cats!||Highly recommend for a trip to this beautiful city.

This hotel was a mixed bag for me. Our travel agent booked it for us, so I didn’t do an extensive amount of research beforehand on the different options in the area. Pros: The design of the hotel is really beautiful - it’s mostly open air and has a lot of really interesting architectural features. The front end staff was probably the best part. The woman with the bobbed haircut and the man with braces were always very friendly and were able to answer all of our questions. It is located really close to a lot of great restaurants and attractions, including a currency exchange across the street that had great rates. The pool area and breakfast were nice, and we didn’t have any issue with noise. Cons: The bed was very, very firm (which can be a pro for some). Housekeeping tried to remedy the situation by putting down another comforter on top of the mattress, but it didn’t help much. The TVs are also very old, and we had difficulty with our WiFi staying connected to our devices even though there’s individual WiFi routers in each area of the hotel and in each room. Overall, staff was great but rooms could use some updates.

Room was tidy and relatively clean, but bathroom was really bad. Lots of black mould in the tub and sink. To be honest idk how could anyone clean properly shower cabin with water coming just from one big shower head from the ceiling. I went to complain and was offered an upgrade. When we were taken to see the new room we realized it has mould in the sink too and smelled even worse so just decided to stay in the first room. Both tooms had a special kind of smell, mouldy. Like as if the space was not properly aerated for some time and bcs of humidity there a certain kind of smell developed. Having air condition “on” helped but it was not enough. Breakfast was really ok but to charge extra for morning espresso in the 4 star hotel is incomprehensible.

We found the staff to be friendly and the rooms were clean and well kept. However, our first night was very disrupted as the back side of the hotel is close to a club, with loud music playing until around 6am, so we didn’t get much sleep. The staff were helpful in moving us to a room at the front of the hotel the next morning, where it was much quieter. Overall, your sleeping experience here will likely depend on which side of the hotel your room is on.

Spacious room with a good shower and wide surface by the sink. The ground-floor balcony led out into a lovely courtyard in which we saw a few swallowtail butterflies. Breakfast was really good, with plenty of choices. The pool is nice, but does not get sunlight in the afternoon so it is quite cold. There are many lovely trees and orchids in the hotel gardens.

I felt completely comfortable. Extremely friendly staff, a clean hotel, good room service, and a very nice and generous breakfast. What I also liked was the typical Thai style of the architecture and interior design. The only bit negative point was the slightly hard beds, but I was still able to sleep well. We have had a fabulous stay at this hotel, the room was very large with everything you need and spotlessly clean. The staff are all amazing, polite and very friendly and super helpful. The hotel is 15 minutes from the airport depending on traffic. It is very well located inside the old town, with a 7-11, restaurants, bars and massage all very close by. Very easy to walk to all the temples and street markets from here. We used Grab/Bolt and a Red Songteaw to go further afield. All in all excellent and would stay here again. Thankyou very much!
