Koekela Rotterdam

I discovered this place about three years ago, and since then, whenever I pass through Rotterdam, I stop by for a quick bite or breakfast. The place is just the right size, and it makes me feel right at home. Very friendly staff. The products are high quality and at a great price. The price of the items shown in the photos is 12,95€ total.

Great little place. Unfortunately I found the cookies too crispy and sweet for my liking, but I prefer the cookies that are thicker and softer but crispy edges. Brownies were really good! So was the tropical bar

One of the best cake places in Rotterdam. First time I had it was a friend brought a couple slices of cheesecake for dinner, just the plain cheesecake and it was amazing. Then another friend had it for their birthday, blueberry cheesecake, amazing too. This time we ended up going there, we got a Naked Chocolate Cake, a slice of Carrot Cake, and some chocolate chip cookies. Everything was amazing as always, just the chocolate chip cookies, I would have liked it to be softer. Overall super good place and I will be returning to get more.

Love this place! The best carrot cake I’ve ever had: flavorful, moist and the icing is perfect. The other cakes are not bad at all, but I love the carrot cake. The cookie chips? Incredible. The brownies are also delicious, you will never regret to stop by to grab something or sit down to enjoy the delicious menu

The staff was super friendly and the food/coffee was immaculate. I had a first date in this place and the vibe plus the genuine smiles on the people behind the counter helped it lead to a beautiful afternoon. I would recommend this with all my heart. Amazing.

Cozy atmosphere, warm design, unforgettable cheesecake, This place was recommended by one of the coolest ladies in Rotterdam, who lives nearby and swears they have the best cheesecake in town. I’m not usually a fan of cakes, but I have to admit she was right. I could’ve easily eaten the whole cake instead of just one slice. It’s the kind of café I’d bring people to. The walls hold small art pieces in every corner, each one carrying a bit of something to communicate to you . I like places like that where art, coffee, and atmosphere quietly reflect pieces of yourself. I hope when you visit, you’ll find yours too.

Best lemon meringue pie in Rotterdam, period. The chocolate cake was great as well. Coffee more than acceptable, nothing very noteworthy but a great cuppa to go with your desserts. Comfy seating and helpful staff. Very reasonable prices, especially when purchasing an entire pie or cake.

ordered a small cheesecake for my boyfriend’s birthday, staff was friendly, i picked the cake up with no issues. cake was delicious, creamy, not too sweet or tough, for the price way better than expected. i would say that the small cheesecake is suitable for 6 normal portions, or 8 small ones. :)
