Koffie & Ik

Apparently this place can’t distinguish between a latte and macchiato. I asked for a latte they made me a cappuccino which they then replaced with a latte macchiato. Then I got dirty looks by one of the baristas cos she couldn’t figure what a latte was despite me showing her pictures. Lebkov and other cafes in Utrecht know what a latte is. What is wrong with the baristas here? Suddenly they can’t speak English because it’s their way or nothing. At this point I couldn’t be asked. My toddler had some milk in a small glass which is usually free but that’s €3 here. What a rip off. Note this was my second visit here, the last time they mistook a latte for a latte macchiato and I let it slide. But this time I pointed out exactly what I wanted with pictures which was clearly a waste of time.

One of my favourite coffee places in Utrecht! Freshly baked cakes, organic products, friendly staff and cosy interior - you forget that you are not in the city centre of Utrecht. The benefit of its location is that it is not overly crowded (although busy) - making it the perfect place to work or study (the downside: you must pay hourly if you use your laptop)… or just meet with friends for a cup of coffee or brunch! I hope that we will start seeing more places like that in the area.

This was my first stop in Utrecht. I had a flat white and it was lovely. The service is AMAZING. The lady taking and serving my order was super nice and friendly. They have quite sufficient seatings outside to enjoy the sun and relax in a Saturday morning. But also a lovely place to set inside and watch from aback. Love the interior. They seem to also serve lunch but I haven't tried any. They have a free WiFi as well. My choice of this coffee spot was a bit random but it was definitely a great decision. Llkeepcit up guys.

This cafe is a rare find, especially in the Netherlands - it opens as early as 8 am., even on Sundays, making it perfect for morning people like me. I personally love sitting outside on the street in the mid-morning sun (when we’re lucky enough to have it). It does get busy at times, but in my experience, the service is always quick. They serve an excellent cappuccino, along with tasty granola with yogurt, sandwiches, and some of the best cakes in the area. My personal favorite is definitely the banana bread! It’s not the kind of place where you’d linger for hours, but it’s just right for soaking up some sun and enjoying a lovely breakfast or coffee break. Inside, I’ve noticed there’s a fee for laptops, which might not appeal to everyone. But overall, the atmosphere is pleasant, and if you’re from the area, I’d definitely recommend stopping by.

I live next door and have been to Koffie & Ik a few times. I already felt it was overpriced for what they offer, especially considering the rather slow service and very basic Dutch food. However, this morning marked my last visit. I needed to spend about an hour outside my house and decided to get a drink there while working on my laptop. It was Monday morning around 11:00 and the café was almost empty. After placing my order, the waitress informed me that they charge €2.50 per hour if you work on your laptop, even if you don’t plug it in and don’t use their internet. I found this policy very bizarre and unwelcoming, especially in an almost empty café. Combined with the high prices and mediocre experience overall, this was the final straw for me. I won’t be recommending this place.

Beautiful place with good coffee and tea, cookies & apple cake are delicious!

Nice place, not too busy, coffee is quite good and nice lunch options. If you’re coming with laptop be prepared to be seated at dedicated tables and pay 2.5 euros per hour (this kinda discouraged me), but otherwise pleasant and friendly cafe.

Good coffee, many options. Friendly staff. Very nice atmosphere inside, places to seat outside as well. They have vegan options.

Really friendly staff and decent coffee. I didn't bust out my laptop while here but I think I saw signs that added a small surcharge (totally reasonable) per hour that you were there if you had a laptop out. Away from the crowds in central Utrecht. Worth stopping by.

this place was very lovely! good coffee and space to do work or chat with friends. also they had a great selection of tumblers and beans from very interesting places such as myanmar.

Looks like Lombok is becoming more hip by the day... This little coffee shop opened up on the corner near my apartment. I've been meaning to visit, but the hours made it tough to plan a visit. I wish they would stay open a bit later on the week - I would come to work here. Nice, fresh interior. Good coffee prepared multiple ways. What more can you ask for?

I made "Koffie & ik" my office when I spent the summer in Utrecht. It was very conveniently located close to my apartment and had everything I needed: - a strong wifi - a nice atmosphere (most people are working, but you also have friends meeting up and young parents) - lots of light and enough seating - great seating outside to enjoy the occasional sun! - a nice decor (with fresh flowers everywhere) - great coffee - super friendly staff who stayed patient when I tried to speak Dutch to them! - oh, and it has food. I will miss it!

The best advice I can give you when you're jetlagged or hungover? Come to a place like Koffie&Ik. The place gets enough sunlight to help you wake up, but not so much that it pisses your wobbly brains off. The girls who work here are friendly and all you need to do is explain how jetlagged (or hungover) you are and how you sort of have no clue what you want right now except for pass me the coffeeeeeeeeeeee! *please* Chances are they'll know exactly the right dish for you to eat with it. My dish last Sunday was the yoghurt (hangop!) with muesli even though my brains were trying to tell me to get a cheese sandwich. Thank you girl who's name I do not remember for suggesting the yoghurt! Unlike my jetlagged & wobbly brains you knew exactly what I needed with my cappuccino. Which is delicious by the way. Both the cappuccino and the yoghurt really hit the spot. My friends who lovingly sat beside my jetlagzombie self and watched my five zillion trillion million holiday photos also loved their latté, mint tea & foods. The apple pie seems to be homemade and looked delicious! The breads they use for their sandwiches are super yummy. I know this because I also enjoyed the Hummus sandwich on their Landbrood. I wouldn't exactly call the stuff they put on there hummus, but it's a delicious sandwich! I will definitely be back here when I'm finally lucky enough to have a day off with no plans other than sit here through breakfast, lunch and whatever amount of coffee and snacks I need to aid my much needed studying session. +If I ever manage to teach my body how to get drunk and following that, hungover, I will be here to let the coffeegurulady tell me what I want to eat!

Fell in love with Koffie & Ik; great coffee, flaky/airy croissants and a fantastic ambiance chalked full of indie music, funky wallpaper and a warm barista. Will be coming back, and recommend you visit!
