This hotel has a nice beachfront area, and swimming pool. And despite other reviews, we found the staff to be super helpful and sweet. The big issue we had was the noise! Pumping music until 2am every night. The rooms are not sound proofed at all so you’ll hear every beat. If you’re a light sleeper, do not stay here as you won’t sleep!

Koh Tao Cabana is perched atop cliffs at the end of the beach, offering a green retreat with nice views. It's just a short walk from the main town centre, where you'll find plenty of bars and restaurants. One of the hotel's standout features is its incredible snorkelling spot right on the hotel’s beach. We were amazed by the vibrant marine life, including a wide variety of fish and colourful, living coral reefs.||Our room was a spacious wooden cabin nestled in a lush setting. The private hammock outside provided a good spot to relax and enjoy the sea views. The on-site restaurant serves food throughout the day, and the included breakfast offered a good variety of tasty options.||However, a few aspects of the stay were less than ideal. Mosquitoes were a constant nuisance, particularly because the bathroom is open to the outdoors, allowing them easy access. While the bed was equipped with a mosquito net, the bedding itself had an unpleasant smell and some stains on the pillows, which required a change during our stay. Another minor disappointment was finding a dirty mop left on our hammock after housekeeping cleaned the room, which made us hesitant to use it afterward. Although this might be due to the rainy weather during our stay, we had very damp smelling towels provided to us everyday. ||Despite these issues, the staff were genuinely friendly and always eager to assist, making our stay more enjoyable overall.

Review of Koh Tao Cabana Koh Tao Cabana is by far the most beautiful place we have ever stayed – a true paradise. We stayed in the Honeymoon Villa, which featured a private swimming pool and breathtaking views over the bay. The staff were professional, service-minded, and incredibly friendly, making our stay even more special. The on-site restaurant served delicious food, and the private beach felt exclusive, uncrowded, and serene – the perfect place to relax and unwind. The only downside was the loud music from nearby resorts, which lasted from around 1:30 am to 4 am. This could be an issue for light sleepers or those looking for a peaceful night’s rest. Overall, a stunning location and a fantastic experience, though light sleepers should take note of the noise.

We had dinner here on our last night in Koh Tao and were blown away by the great food, ambience and location. The staff were great, highly attentive and really friendly. It was like eating in a luxury tree house! We loved how you leave your shoes at the door and enjoy a really relaxed evening, with fantastic food, huge portions and great staff. We’ll definitely be back next time we visit Koh Tao.

We had a terrible experience at this resort in Koh Tao. The management are incredibly rude and unprofessional. When we were checking in there was a confrontation with another guest, he was not happy at all saying that their villa was not clean, it was not the villa that they had booked and paid for, but the staff/management did nothing to help him. That was our first red flag. That is very unusual for Thailand, Thai people are usually very kind and welcoming. Our villas were like the guest who complained, they were very dirty, stains on the bed linens, cock roaches, intense mold smell that we could feel instantly in our lungs as we walked into the villas. But the staff was the worst part. Very rude and incompetent. We only stayed one out of the three nights we had booked, it was a hassle to move, since this was a special family/cousins celebration but it was worth it. We ended up at the Haadtien Beach Resort and it was so much nicer! Beautiful rooms, very clean, and the staff/management were kind, professional and welcoming. We do not recommend this resort at all.

Absolutely loved our stay at Koh Tao Cabanas. This is a place for nature lovers! While I was there, I was enthralled with the butterflies, flowers, frogs, grasshoppers, and crabs! The high tide swims each morning were beautiful with a backdrop of palms and forest. The rooms were amazing with open air bathrooms, mosquito netting, and decks with views of the ocean. Incredible spot!

It's a stunningly beautiful location, room is idyllic and you're fully immersed in nature. The pool is a dream to dive into everyday and the view is amazing at all times of the day. Layout is very quirky which we loved and room service was super cute.Main challenge is mosquitos which are unavoidable in Thailand, here especially sunsets triggered lots of them to appear.Photo is a view from the hammock overlooking the pool and the beach

I recently stayed at Koh Tao Cabana Hotel, and unfortunately, it fell far short of my expectations. On the first night, I decided to dine at the hotel restaurant, but the Thai cuisine was disappointing—definitely not up to par. I’d rate it 2 out of 5 stars. The swimming pool was very small, more like a plunge pool, and the open-air lobby was uncomfortably hot upon arrival, making check-in less than pleasant. The property itself feels dated and in need of serious upgrades. The rooms were also a major issue—so dark, even during the daytime, that you could barely see anything, even with all the lights on. While the beach was decent, it didn’t make up for the overall shortcomings of the hotel. Honestly, I’m baffled by the high ratings this place has received. On a good day, I’d give it 2 stars overall. I wouldn’t recommend it unless major improvements are made.
