Koh Tao Regal Resort

The hotel offers a good price and the room was clean, which we appreciated. However, we would like to recommend an improvement regarding the staff service. The female staff we encountered were not friendly or welcoming. When we arrived, they didn’t greet us with a “Sawasdee kha,” and when we left, there was no “thank you” either. We hope the hotel can improve in this area to provide better hospitality in the future.

The property is well located close to the pier (5 min walk on the beach). On the other side, 5 min from the famous Sairee beach strip. Yet the place is calm and relax vibe. Everyone is super respectful of this and you’ll leave feeling regenerated. The hotel was beautiful(might need a bit of love), with a great beach sitting in front. The view I believe is the best I saw around the island. Sunset are guaranteed. The food was incredible and authentic. Most of all, our stay was made special by the staff/team there. In particular, So was incredibly lovely and went above and beyond to make our stay special. I will remember our time there as the most special memory of Thailand/Koh Tao. I will definitely be back and stay at Regal.

I stayed here with my wife for three nights. Although the location is nice, the hotel feels like it needs a major updating and better service that can clean it better on a regular basis. The photos on Agoda were misleading, and probably taken many years ago when the place was in better shape. Now everything looks a bit beat up and worn out. The staff is not particularly helpful or welcoming. The fact that it's right next to the beach and has a nice pool area is the best thing it has going for it. And that it's just about a 10 or 15 minute walk on the little main beach front path to all of the restaurants is of course nice. Though the super steep road down to the hotel itself is a bit scary. Overall the place needs some tender love and care to get back to the state it probably was in 20 years ago. Right now it's going to disappoint the majority of people that come here.

I’ve stayed here a few times now and absolutely love it. It’s very Thailand! On such a small island based a lot around diving - this is a tiny piece of heaven where it’s just hotel / beach and wonderful staff! Room was cleaned every day and bed changed. The swimming pools are also cleaned daily and fresh. Staff are all lovely! Will absolutely be back again next year!

Location was good Beach was nice Pool was nice and clean Building and rooms are in bad shape. This was probably a really nice hotel when it was built but it seems very run down and our room smelt really bad. There was also stains on the walls and somethings were falling apart in our room. If you can look past that it’s a good hotel otherwise

The hotel is in an awesome location. Has a restaurant with a pretty tasty food for a good price, awesome view and is not crowded. Rooms and the gym require some renovation, but considering the location and the price - nothing to complain. They have a shuttle service to the pier when the ferries depart and arrive

Recently stayed at here for a night, while the location was great,5 mins from the pier, the overall experience was overshadowed by the outdated condition of the room. The furniture felt worn, and the decor seemed stuck in a different era. The bathroom, although clean, looked like it hadn’t been renovated in years. The air conditioning unit was noisy and struggled to maintain a comfortable temperature, and there was a lack of modern amenities that one would expect from a hotel at this price point. Tho the reception only open from 8am-9pm, we were there at 8ma sharp but no one there and staff were like 10 mins ish late to work or smth wouldn’t be an issue if u don’t rush to be elsewhere but we were so a bit annoyed by that.

Dated rooms needing minor maintenance but excellent value for money. Perfect central location, at the north end of Mae Haad beach and just a few minutes south of the start of Sairee beach. Excellent restaurant within the hotel, open to the beach. Short walk along the beach to Mae Haad Pier. Nice walking street along Sairee Beach. Great pool in hotel. Laundry service available at fromt desk. No elevator but some ground floor rooms, pool area and restaurant is wheelchair accessible. Nice balconies.
