Koh Tao Tropicana Resort

Amazing place. Loved my stay here. Wish we could’ve stayed longer. Service was 10/10 couldn’t ask for any more, they were the most accommodating I’ve experienced in Thailand so far. The rooms are really nice with a really nice balcony. Only negative thing I can say about this hotel is the showers/lighting. The showers are pretty cold and not the strongest, and the lighting in the room/bathroom isn’t great. Other than that it’s amazing. Location is really good, far enough away from the hustle and bustle but not too far that there isn’t anything near you. Theres a 7/11 next door and plenty of restaurants. The hotel is literally on the beach which is a really nice beach and extremely close to Shark Bay and Freedom Beach - Great for snorkelling.

Stayed for 10 nights, had room 45 above a storage cupboard (never a problem). Room was basic with a ceiling fan which meant it was a little unpleasant at night. There’s no storage just a large fridge. The steps up to the room were really steep and big. Room cleaned every other day with clean towels and sheets. All staff were very friendly but a little vague at times about my questions. Food is fab, cheap but excellent. Lovely to eat your breakfast right on the beach which is quiet most of the time. The “Family” massage place just over the road was excellent, visited 3 times, each time very friendly and excellent massage.

This is on a family friendly beach and part of the island. Mr. Waan is the best owner. Very good prices for beer, coffee, soda. Meals are great price too. Comfortable rooms. Very nice garden atmosphere. The Burmese staff have limited English and virtually no Thai language ability except the owner who has great English and of course Thsi.

Lovely location if you’re looking for a quieter part of Koh Tao. Set right on a little beach - it’s not great for swimming but perfectly fine for a dip. The rooms were nice - we did have a slight ant problem if that bothers you… Staff were very welcoming. Next door to a 7 Eleven which was ideal. It’s quite far from the main attractions of the island so will either need to hire scooters or get taxis around.

A beautiful place in peaceful Chalok. I lived here for 4 months and could not have asked for a better deal! Extremely reasonable rent for long-term stays, regular cleaning service included. The landlord is a lovely guy and staff were always incredible, overall a great business to support on Koh Tao!

They were able to take me in last minute over the busiest time of year, they were SO friendly! The room was on the 3rd floor and getting up there was a bit of a struggle as the stairs going to the 3rd floor were very steep but I’m young and able. The view from the 3rd floor was beautiful! It looked like a newer room with gorgeous tile and a big fridge - no TV but I didn’t need it. It was quiet even though the main road is close by. The beach is close by and the friendly staff were always smiling and accommodating. 7-11 was just around the corner and great shops and laundry service was walking distance away. The only downside was not being able to stay longer.

Place with soul. Owner and how coworkers, especially girls from reception are very nice . Super close to the beach, calm area yet very close to restaurants, shopping options, massages, snorkling. If you like hiking also good spot to discover nice beaches around. We will remember Christmas party owner invited IT and we eat and dance together. He Is also very good singer. Thank you! Go to this place if you prefer soul over the luxury and if you are nice and kind person, other way go to another place.

Loved staying at Tropicana! It was very affordable and perfectly located on the beach. The owner Mr Wan and the staff are all so friendly and helpful. The neighborhood Chalok is chill compared to Sairee which was good for me. Thanks for a lovely stay!
