Koh Tao Tropicana Resort

Tropicana was a decent stay overall. The location is excellent right next to a 7/11 and within walking distance to everything. The highlight was definitely the balcony and the stunning private beach, which is one of the best we saw on Koh Tao. The room was clean but very basic. It would’ve been nice to have a kettle for making tea or noodles. The staff were friendly and polite, but the rooms are made of wood, which unfortunately meant we got bitten by mosquitoes during our stay. A good option if you’re after a great beachfront location and don’t mind keeping things simple.

Stayed at Koh Tao Tropicana for 2 nights and honestly, I loved it. The room was clean, cozy, and just felt right. The beach was calm, clear, and not crowded at all. Out of all the beaches I’ve been to, this one’s probably my favorite. The whole place is surrounded by plants and waking up to the sound of birds and nature outside the room was such a nice way to start the day. Super peaceful. But what really made the stay special was the people. The staff were so kind and helpful and the owner was just the sweetest 🥹 really polite and warm. He even gave me a necklace as a little souvenir and we ended up becoming friends, which was such a lovely surprise. Everything was smooth when I checked out too. They helped with my luggage, gave me a free shuttle to the port and even sorted my ticket for the next destination. No stress, no hassle. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a laid-back, nature-filled stay with genuinely nice people.

This was a gorgeous place to stay for our week stay in Koh Tao. We were very close to the beach which was nice to go dip once in a while. Also I would recommend Shark bay if you want to swim with less rocks. All of the employees were kind and helpful. Although we wished our room was cleaned every other day rather than three days since sand gets e v e r y w h e r e. It was a beautiful stay I’m thankful.

10/10 recommend staying in this resort!! The price is extremely affordable for beautiful beach location, the rooms are spacious and very clean. Relaxing location with great balconies attached to the rooms! I really enjoyed my stay here, also thank you to the owner and staff for being so friendly and always greeting me with smiles!! Fantastic Experience! The price was very reasonable and everyone who worked here was extremely friendly every morning always greeting me with a smile and even remembered what I ordered for breakfast! The owner was so helpful and friendly each morning and even taught me some thai language 😁 The ocean is great and calm for swimming , a lot of sand bars to swim out to and relax. There’s also plenty of beautiful shells 🐚 to find each morning! The geckos 🦎 were SO COOL!!! I had 1 for the first few days and then eventually he had a companion! They always stayed there in the window. I was nervous at first to not have hot water or ac… but after hot days on the island and then cool nights with the fan, everything temperature wise , was just perfect! The only thing I would change was maybe the windows for a bit better sound proofing from The motorbikes and the shower head for better pressure. But overall it was a great stay and when I return I will only stay here 🙏🙏🙏 ขอบคุณมาก! ကျေးဇူးအရမ်းတင်ပါတယ်!

Well the room was infested with ants 🐜 then we kept having mosquitoes 🦟 biting us all thru the night. Then to some it off they tried stealing our 3 year old daughters laptop the house keeping crew so don’t leave any valuables out cos the staff are thieving non trustworthy people! Staff aren’t to friendly they just prefer to sit on there phones and if you ask for a coffee (chargeable) they are pissed off so not nice place to relax thru the day, but Koppee beach bar is only 2 mins along the beach and that saved our visit to Koh Tao thank goodness

This place is truly a paradise! With just a short walk to the beach and great restaurants close by this place is perfect. The owner is absolutely fantastic with his interest in his visitors and top service. Even good English. We stayed in a room without AC (only fan) which was a little too warm for our liking. If that’s important to you, I’d go for a room with AC. The room could also have been a little cleaner, at least in our experience. The best about this place is the outside area. Perfect to relax, play cards, so some work or just hangout. Still such a wonderful place with a great location. Food, some shops and a 7/11 super close. The atmosphere is very quiet and relaxing, so this is a great place to wind down. The beach near is very quiet too.

Great location at the quieter part of the beach though next to the road. Depending on which room you get you might hear every single car and scooter passing by. The bay is wonderful but the beach at the resort looks terrible. The owner claimed it's due to conserving the beache against the heavy rains but his neighbours beaches look clean and welcoming. Surely there is a better way to secure the waterfront. We asked owner to clean the beach but instead of any action we were suggested to use the beach in other place and be kinder people. Last but not least, rooms require a number of repairs. If you are on the thight budget, beach is not important and selfcentered manager is not a problem than we can recommend.
