I wasn’t planning on stopping, but the Kohler Design Center caught my eye as I passed through town—and wow, I’m glad I turned around. From the moment I walked in, it felt like I’d stumbled into a designer’s dream playground. Every corner is packed with beautifully curated displays of Kohler’s latest creations, from sleek modern faucets (like that ultra-minimal black Kallista one!) to over-the-top spa-style shower setups that made me want to redesign my entire bathroom on the spot. One of the most impressive setups was this massive stone-tiled shower wall with dual rain heads, body sprays, and even a steam option—seriously, it felt like a high-end spa. Just a few steps away, I found a stunning sculptural bathtub nestled beside a cozy fireplace and huge windows. The natural light in this space made the whole thing feel both elegant and soothing. Even the double sink vanity with its wavy mirror and playful lights added a fun, artistic touch. But the surprise highlight? The Kohler Museum downstairs. It's way more than a company archive—it dives into the family history, design innovations, and even Kohler’s contributions during wartime. I found myself unexpectedly moved by how deep the roots of this brand run. The place was busy but not overwhelming, with plenty of room to browse and explore. I only wish my wife had been there—this is totally her kind of place, full of design inspiration and cool vintage pieces like colorful toilets and sinks from decades past. Definitely one of those “hidden in plain sight” stops that ends up being a highlight of your trip.

Loved working with Agata on the design of our new bathroom. She has such a good eye for style, is detail oriented (what metal to choose with hard vs soft water, etc), and honest about design versus function. The samples all over the 2 floors really helped select even the style/tile for the rest of the bathroom besides the fixtures! Can’t say enough great things about Agata and really the Kohler design center enough. (And the design is a free service here!)

So much fun to see and dream about beautiful fixtures and design features for building or remodeling your kitchen or bath!

If you are thinking about building your dream kitchen or bath, you should visit here for ideas. Factory tours are offered Monday - Friday and the overall esthetics of Kohler is a beautiful little town. The basement is a museum to the history and initiatives of Kohler while the main floor has kitchen and bath products and concepts, with the 3rd floor a series of bathroom designs to see how everything comes together. Designers are on hand to help with your ideas.

Google
We were able to walk in and meet with a designer and have her help us pick items for our bathroom remodeling and give us a design incorporating those items. Agata was great to work with. Only negative that I would like to see is working displays (not sure thats feasible tho) so I could see how the different shower heads etc work, but overall great service

Exquisite place that showcases some of Kohler’s most ingenious products. Very clean, family friendly showroom to get the mind moving in renovating or building your dream space. In the heart of Kohler and worth spending a few hours at!

Yelp
This place is a dream come true! My parents had told me this spot was worth a stop, but didn't prepare me for the beauty and design inspo that would overwhelm me with joy. Yes, the town is Kohler, as in the toilets and faucets. Yes, this is their showroom and museum. And yes, it's magical! Upon arrival, you're greeted by the staff and welcomed in. They have some cute merch and swag, and a few spaces for consultations if you're shopping with a purpose. On the main floor at the entrance, you'll find the start of the kitchen showroom with a plethora of faucet types and examples. Further back, you'll find bathroom sinks, showers and bathroom fixings and examples - all stunning! On the lower level, you'll find the Kohler museum, which is free and actually so interesting! They share the history of Kohler with some epic mid-century color toilets, funky fixtures and more. They also cover the history of the American Club, the golf course, and the spa. I don't usually sit and watch museum short films, but I found myself so interested in all of the history here! On the upper level, you'll find example bathrooms - and beware, it will give you major bathroom envy! I couldn't stop taking photos of the stunning showers, tubs and designs that were giving me so many ideas and inspo. Truly a joy to walk through and explore - Kohler knocked it out of the park with this, and I'll recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Yelp
Our entire family of five enjoyed our visit to the Kohler Design Center. The folks working there were very welcoming and told us briefly about the center. The basement area was the Pictorial history of Kohler which was very interesting. The first and second floor showcased the products made a Kohler and how they would look in a home or business. Our visit was worth the time, about an hour.

Yelp
Stayed at the American club hotel and people were constantly telling us we needed to check out the design center. It was amazing! So many appliances and bathroom equipment to truly visualize your dream home. They do appointments for anyone who wants to speak with a designer. The museum is on the bottom floor and it was phenomenal. Extremely intriguing and engaging.

Yelp
The museum here at their Design Center is free and a nice opportunity to learn about the prominent Kohler family business.  They have a classy museum on the lower level (actually the whole place is classy) and I saw that they also have a staffer giving lectures to those interested (they were possibly on a reserved factory tour).  You can learn about how the Kohler family settled in this area and grew their business starting with its founding way back in 1873.  On the main floor and second level of the Design Center you can view all of their various products in elegant showroom style display and do your bath or kitchen remodeling project research, etc.  It was a nice, leisurely, and enlightening one hour stop for us here as we were basically passing by on our way to Door County.  They also offer a free 2 - 2.5 hour factory/manufacturing tour requiring a reservation and I may consider returning for that one day.

Yelp
I don't know what I expected when we were visiting, but I thought it would be more of a museum, experiential type of center. They do have a museum on the lower floor that goes through Kohler history - it was cool to know how the Kohler brand came to be, what makes it special, and why it's such a solid brand today. For example, I know it's a higher end bathroom fixture/equipment type of brand, but I didn't really know why besides nice designs. Sounds like they were the first company to invent the modern day tub! So their claim to fame has been staying on top of innovation in the world of bath. The main floor is more of a sales or showroom, where you can purchase their items. The 2nd floor had installations of different bathroom designs, so if you're into architectural design, interior design (specifically bathroom) or are looking for new ideas to remodel and have a higher budget, it's a great place to peruse. We were in and out in about 45 minutes, but if you're interested in design, I could see spending a good couple hours there. Easy parking, very friendly people, very spacious, beautifully designed, centrally located to Destination Kohler, right next to the spa and Carriage House.

Yelp
This place is pretty cool, id recommend it to anyone in the area or driving thru. I wanted to originally do a factory tour but they only do them M-F (i believe) at 8am so we didn't make the cut. Parking was very easy to get, right off the street. There was a large parking lot across the way, i believe that's employee only though. When you walk in its pretty baffling. I think I told my husband on more than one occasion that a toilet made me feel poor. It displays all new technology that you will never see in a regular every day store such as home depot or lowes. What I really enjoyed was all the history. This place had pretty much every product they had invented. Old tubs, toilets, fixtures, lawn items.. Like everything! All in all i wouldn't return, once you've seen it you've seen it kind of thing but again i would recommend it to anyone near by.

Yelp
Great entertainment even if you are not into faucets, sinks and toilets. This free showroom for Kohler products is very interesting. See the latest and in some cases the most expensive fixtures for your home. Our group had alot of fun walking through the displays - it was like we were on some HGTV show. For those who like history the basement level gives the history of the company and the town through a series of displays . I have to remember that they give free factory tours and plan accordingly the next time we are planning to be in this part of Wisconsin.

Yelp
I have come here at least once a year. I love coming here because I love looking at the different bathroom & kitchen layouts. It always gives me great ideas that I want to do to my house (but probably never will). Also, you have to come see the wall of toilets! I also love coming here during the Kohler Food & Wine Festival because there are free demonstrations here. Also, they have a lot of different vendors set up - there is a jelly/jam guy who sells great stuff (although I can't remember his name...oops!) I definitely recommend coming here at least once in your lifetime.

Yelp
We were greeted by such a nice man at the door who explained it to us. This place has got 3 floors of design bliss: floor 1 (basement) covers the Kohler history, floor 2 (main floor) is dedicated to showcasing current Kohler products, and floor 3 is a showcase of installations from several interior designers using kohler products. I don't have children, but I'm not entirely sure if this is a good place to bring children- especially adventurous ones who like to touch things. On the main floor where they showcase their products, they have lots of fully-functional showers, toilets, sinks, and bathtubs. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a small child trying to climb into one of the bathtubs that was full of water... I'm a sucker for good design, and I enjoy he clean lines of some of the Kohler products. While it was nice to see their product line up, my favorite part of the experience was seeing the installations. I wish they had more of these. These installations are like Pinterest pin-boards come to life. A real-life example of what could be yours for a small sum of several thousands of dollars! The design museum is free and a great way to spend an hour or so, especially for fans of design.

Yelp
This is definitely a place to stop by if staying in Kohler or Sheboygan, but give yourself at least a good hour if you're into HGTV! We became obsessed with a lot of different styles presented in their upstairs showcase rooms. So much that we are contemplating changing several remodeling projects in our new home! The only reason we left sooner than we did was because we got hungry, haha!

Mina K.

Yelp
Who would've thought having dinner while surrounded by toilets would be such an interesting experience? We had dinner at the the design center as a part of a professional meeting in Sheboygan. The showrooms are amazing and make you realize how many options are available when it comes to faucets, showers and toilets. Make sure you check out the museum downstairs, where they have pretty cool stuff...and obviously the bathrooms are as high end as it could get. I'm not sure if they provided the good or was it catered from an external venue...the food was ok. They served various types of food; cod and chips, hot wings, sliders and chips and guacamole. There were food on different levels as well as desserts on the middle level around jacuzzi tubs :)

Yelp
We were at the Inn for the Senior Golfers of America tournament so went over to the design center one morning. Everyone should see this amazing display--even if you don't think it sounds interesting, there will be something there for you to enjoy. Do not miss the film downstairs!! It is downright inspiring. Here is what the first Mr. Kohler believed about his workers: "They deserve not only wages, but roses as well." There is an entire section also downstairs dedicated to golf, complete with a beautiful ceramic sink mounted on clubs, featuring a painting of the Old Course at St. Andrews! Look at my photo!!

David B.

Yelp
They got stuff. Stuff I didn't even know I needed. Take my money, now! Great place if your designing or what have you.

Anthony M.

Yelp
I have been here several times and I forget how cool this place really is. The first place I love to go is the basement to check out the history of Kohler...it is a free museum and recently my little one really enjoyed it. She kept asking me questions about what we were looking at and I was reading off the signs. She looked up at me and said, "Daddy you know everything!" I did not tell her I was reading because I want to stay as cool as possible in her eyes because during the teenage years I am going to be stupid. It is amazing to see the history of this company and what they built. This company gave many skilled immigrants a place to live and work. They even taught them how to become citizens of the United States. How cool is that? I do not know any companies that do that now or even make an attempt of doing that! You could see that they really cared about there workers and made sure they had the best of everything. It is also amazing to see how Kohler is more then just sinks and plumbing. They had many products like a dishwasher from the 1920's...that just seems revolutionary to me. I was also impressed how they made bombs and torpedo's during WWII and they received a nice award from the Department of Defense. We call that patriotic and I am glad to see that Kohler is still going strong. I must also give you a tip...if you check in on 4square you might get a free cup of coffee. I checked in and went to the front desk and was awarded a nice cup of hazelnut. Other shoppers were having a little envy of me with my fancy Kohler Coffee Cup. It also saved me a dollar...which isn't bad for a cup of coffee. The design center will give you lots of ideas about how you can spend $50,000+ on a dream bathroom...yeah it is a dream unless you win the lottery. It is fun to check out everything they have to offer. I like watching the couples here. The body language is so funny. The wife is already to buy it and the husband looks like he is ready to cry or run out the front door. It all looks amazing but it does not mean that we can all afford it. I always forget that there is a tour of the factory...I need to plan a little more time into my next visit because that would be cool to see how everything is made. So if you are looking for some design ideas and you are in the area then I would make a trek out to see what Kohler has set up. You can hit the history museum and even grab a beer with some food at the Kohler Bar down the street from here.

Yelp
After our Kohler Factory Tour, we had to visit and check out the Kohler Design Center. On the main level, it's a showroom of Kohler kitchen and bath faucets, bathtubs, toilets, sinks, shower base, and shower doors. Some of these are interactive and operational as you can test the water flow from the products. There were also some furniture, lawn mowers, engines, and generators on display. Unbeknownst to me, Kohler manufactured these products as well. Kohler also has designer consultants that can answer your questions that you may have as you go through the center. On the second level of the center, it's a beautiful gallery of bathrooms and kitchens ranging from modern to traditional to classic to chic. All inspiring ideas for your home. Remember to stop by the lower level to visit the Kohler history museum, which is free of admission. It provides a fascination history of the Kohler Company and how it took care of its workers A great place to check out all the Kohler products on display if you plan on remodeling your kitchen or bath.

Yelp
The Kohler Design Center is very interesting and fun to visit! I was not able to get the historic factory tour. My husband and I just went on a Saturday afternoon to browse the items and the cool setups of rooms with Kohler company items. The bottom floors contain sinks, faucets, baths, showers, and vanities. There are so many different designs, and most of them are working! Fun to play with! The showers are especially interesting - some of the designs are so innovative! You can go upstairs and see mini-rooms set up to show you how Kohler designs fit into your lifestyle. Classic, modern, zen, you name it... it's all there. It's very fun to see all the different interior designs! Go here for ideas, for fun, and to learn more about Kohler!

Ritu R.

Yelp
a very nice and fun place to go see! Just for fun and especially if you are a home owner. They have the most unqiue show rooms and will defitietly be worth your time. We spent a good hour there and felt like we saw everything w/o a rush!

Brian F.

Yelp
Being a guy I typically cringe when my wife wants to shop for kitchen and bath stuff, but I have to say this is really a great stop. Kohler has some really inventive and interesting ideas on all things kitchen and bath and they have some really amazing things on display.

R M.

Yelp
Very impressive showroom where you can get ideas and see the latest styles and trends. We were greeted warmly when we arrived by a pleasant gentleman named Roger who explained the layout of the showroom. After checking out the design rooms and products, we were extremely pleased with a Kohler Design Consultant named Christy. Christy impressed us with her wealth of knowledge on product lines and features. She was able to thoroughly answer our questions with a friendly mannerism. Definitely a positive experience.
