8 Best Spas in Chicago for When You Need an Indoor Escape | Condé Nast Traveler

"Kohler Waters Spa has been tapping into the restorative properties of mineral-rich waters to create bespoke experiences for guests since 2000 at its Wisconsin location and 2019 at its Chicago location. The latter is located in the heart of Lincoln Park and specializes in state-of-the-art hydrotherapy offerings—take, for example, the Thermal Suite and its hydrotherapy circuit, comprised of a steam room, sauna, eight-foot-deep cool plunge pool, and hydromassage pool (a recent design showpiece featuring five half-circle coves and a gooseneck waterfall). The Still Waters treatment begins with a full-body CBD-infused exfoliation, followed by a Shirodhara forehead treatment and custom Kohler Vichy shower. If you opt for an entirely customized service (e.g. the Uniquely Yours Massage), choose between three signature, essential oils: Relief (made with peppermint, rosemary, and lavender), Uplift (lavender, lemon, and sweet orange), or Breathe (eucalyptus, peppermint, and lavender)." - Nicole Schnitzler

Google
I had the most incredible experience at Kohler Spa in Lincoln Park! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was peaceful, welcoming, and serene. The staff was professional and attentive, making me feel completely at ease. My Complete Rejuvenation facial with Mary was absolutely amazing — tailored to my skin type, with high-quality products, and left my skin glowing and refreshed. Mary was knowledgeable, gentle, and explained each step along the way. I also loved the thermal spas and relaxation room! I left feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated. Already looking forward to my next visit!! Highly recommend Kohler Spa to anyone needing some self-care and pampering!

Jason has been my hair stylist for years and he is one of my favorite people in the entire world. He is professional, skilled, knowledgeable, and most importantly, as kind as they come. Kohler is lucky to have him. I was blown away by the facilities and the amenities! Can’t recommend this place enough!

I got a seaweed wrap with Magdalena. I felt truly pampered. It included exfoliation and iodine rich seaweed treatment from France. Also a mini facial. Magdalena did an excellent job checking in with me about my comfort throughout the treatment and explaining the different parts of the treatment. She was friendly and professional. I am giving 4 stars because the locker room could have been cleaner, and the thermal suite needs some care. I came on a Tuesday. Probably better to visit in cooler weather instead of summer.

Kohler Waters Spa was fantastic! All of the staff members were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing, the thermal spa was amazing. Our nail technicians, Heather and Victoria, were so kind and did a fantastic job. I would definitely recommend!

Excellent service, lovely staff and amazing atmosphere. Nikki gave me the best pedicure I’ve ever had. We also had a great conversation. Kiki up front was so gracious and offered me water, coffee or tea. Pearl who I met in the relaxing lounge was very friendly and attentive.

Had a work related outing to this location. Very clean and comforting location. Main desk personnel is very nice and explained everything to me as I was a new customer to this Spa. The locker rooms are a bit snug, not much private area to change or to spread around. The lounging area is open and vast, plenty to spread for groups and individuals. The only downside, and it’s disappointing, was the staff… my male massage therapist missed the mark a few times. Didn’t explain too well the entering process as I was a new customer, but the massage itself was rather relaxing. For $100+ I was expecting a bit more in means of massage and body therapy. The location has smoothies available but the staff does not ask if you want one, you have to ask for the menu first. I also had my light snack on a table taken away while I went away for a quick moment to the restroom. There was also some confusion as I thought the front desk mentioned to me I did not need a mask in the relaxation area and the pool, however, other staff members had mentioned we needed to have masks on. Even as we were eating the light snacks and smoothies, rather counterintuitive. This is a nice outing for the local area, but I would not 100% recommend this location. I expected more.

I decided to do a solo Valentine’s massage and everyone from the front desk, to my tour guide, to Melissa who did my massage, were just so wonderful. It was snowing & a “holiday” and I appreciate so much, the kindness. Fab massage and that massage bed was amazing too! Such a great way to treat yourself!! Thanks to all!

I hate that I have to write this review, but I have no choice given the lack of care and lack of response from management at Kohler Spa. I visited the spa for the first time in February 2025 with my childhood best friend who I haven't seen in 10 years as we are long-distance. We each had a massage (which was wonderful and the technicians were excellent). After the massage we went to enjoy the rest of the spa. Mere minutes into our time there, my friend went to pull herself over the side of the cold plunge and her hand slipped on the edge of a sharp tile that was poorly installed and lacerated her hand, which required us to leave immediately and go to urgent care because she was bleeding so badly. So at the end of the day, we paid $800 for a couple of massages and a non-existent spa day, plus hundreds more in the urgent care visit. The management initially said they would give us day passes to return, but in the end they did not honor that offer (not that my friend could use a day pass anyway since she doesn't live in Chicago). They seemed more concerned with whether any of the blood got into the cold plunge pool (it did not, it was all on the floor where the cut happened). Needless to say I will not be returning and have warned all my friends.

Yelp
I heard so much about this place and was able to get a reaver ago on made a few weeks before my trip to the city. When I called for my appointment the concierge was extremely helpful in asking the proper questions to ensure my experience would be a great one. When I arrived I was greeted so nicely and offered water or tea of my choosing. The spa lobby area was very clean and had many products to choose from. Once inside, the locker room had everything you need. They had towels, slippers, hair brushes, hair ties, shower caps, razors, shave gel, combs, soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, hair spray, dry shampoo and other hair products. They had everything you would need to shower and go about your day after the spa. The waiting area with the jet pool, saune and steam room was absolutely amazing. The pool itself was heated and had many different stations where there were jets targeting a certain area of your body. The jets were powerfully enough to really loosen up any tightness in the areas and really smooth out the tightness.

Yelp
I first came here three years ago. Their prices have nearly doubled since. I paid like $210 for an 80 min massage in 2021... now it is $365. Insane. The spa is beautiful. When you check in, they offer you some ice tea which is actually some of the best ice tea I ever had. Also, the cold plunge in the thermal room is the best I have ever experienced. However, unfortunately, the spa has some significant downfalls. First and foremost, the hot tub is barely lukewarm. Others at the spa agreed with me on this point, it was not just me. When I complained to the front desk person about it, they basically gave me diva attitude and said "we checked and it's 102 which is Kohler Standards". Didn't offer me any discount or anything to make up for it. Absolutely ridiculous. They never had cold towels in the thermal room, and when I kept asking the front desk about it, the lady looked at me and treated me like I was on something or like I shouldn't have asked. They just kept being like "there should be some in the thermal room"... I was like, I'm not blind. There aren't! They have an upstairs lounge area which again is beautiful like the other spaces... however, if you're going to charge $365 for an 80 minute massage, at least have some machines that instantly dispense hot water and not some cheap hot water warmers that take 20 minutes to make hot water for tea, seriously!!!!! Also, they have an outdoor area with hard chairs that really need padding and umbrellas!!! What were they thinking, seriously! The massage was great. I really loved the therapist. However, at the current price levels they've set, you can go somewhere else for a much better experience at a lower price point. Which is a shame because this place really has the potential to be great; however, with the current management, don't see that coming to fruition. So unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place.

Yelp
A wonderful retreat for total relaxation in the heart of Lincoln Park. The facility is beautifully maintained and extremely clean. The ground floor has locker rooms, a large jacuzzi, cold plunge, steam room and dry sauna. Upstairs are treatment rooms and relaxation areas. I got the 60 minute Kohler signature massage and 60 minute rain man shower. Both services were wonderful, though I am not sure I would order the rain man again as it seemed like I could just as easily bathe myself. The price point is very high and they require guests to order at least two treatments which compounds the expense. However, you could tell they paid attention to small details and everything seemed perfectly executed- well worth the expense if in your budget.

Yelp
Sooooooooo expensive. I had $100 gift card and spent another $100 for one pedicure! Very nice ambiance but nothing to make that pedicure worth 5x what it would cost elsewhere.

Yelp
I have been to many of the city spas and this is by far the best. Most consistently positive treatments. They do have a no electronics policy that now includes Kindles. I had planned on reading and the manager went ABOVE AND BEYOND to go get me a physical book I could read during my visit when I was unaware of the policy.

Yelp
Literal heaven. This spa is always immaculate. The team runs a tight ship, I'm always impressed with how they work together to make sure we are all having a great calming experience. I've had multiple hydrotherapy and 2 massages. Everyone has been amazing. I can actually relax here and I highly recommend.

Yelp
Totally worth it. Came here for my birthday. It is extremely relaxing. My husband and I came a couple hours before our couples massage. We enjoyed the hit tub, suana and steam room. They have water and nuts , apples, little treats for you complimentary. You may also order a smoothie for $10. It is very peaceful, lights a dimmed. The couples massage is great as you can pick any type of massage you want (including incorporating stone, or cbd if you're into that (I didn't try that) the stones were super hot though warning!) There is also a lounge area you can sit and read. They do supply robes, slippers, towels. The lockers have codes no need to bring a lock. No phones etc allowed inside. Lock them up. They do have reduced parking fee for the garage next door but limited time I think 2 hours. You definetly want to be here longer than 2 hours.

Yelp
The ambiance is beautiful and the service rendered was great, I'm a little bias because the burr ridge location has a bit more to offer compared to this location. I enjoyed my lavender rain hydrotherapy spa but felt as if I should purchased just a massage alone after that treatment. This location is super clean and relaxing. One of the steam rooms was inoperable on my visit day. I love the refreshments and tea. The staff was super friendly and they will validate your parking at a discounted rate.

Yelp
Great birthday pedi. Loved seeing Kohler features in the facility, as I personally have Kohler water fixtures in my home. Jets were a little strong, so I'd have preferred to customize the hot tub experience, but I definitely can recommend the hot tub / cold plunge / steam/sauna as a worthwhile spa retreat.

Yelp
I enjoyed the spa, and the workers provided excellent customer service. Very clean - Everything is clean. Their modern decor makes it easier to clean with less ridges and rough corners. There are decorations but they are simple and modern. They have a strict no photograph policy in their locker rooms, which is good because these days too many people take selfies in private spaces. Great job in the blow dryers, flat irons, brushes, hair ties, and pretty much anything you'd need to freshen up before you leave. I will gladly pay extra for services when the customer service is amazing and again the place is spotless! They mostly try to expect your needs and that makes it worth the extra money. Cons- Their hydro facial is the most expensive and they may suggest it without asking if you have allergies. If you have a severe shellfish allergy please don't do this facial.. I'm so glad I was asked while in the room otherwise, ... I just wouldn't be alive today. They should have free parking, not validation. They built the tip into the service as a line item. I made a purchase and I asked if they could double the tip for the technician. The way it was billed it was separated. I couldn't help but wonder if the second tip was actually going to Betty or if it was going to the cashiers who rung me up for my skin care purchase. Lastly, the cashier saw my card with the serum my esthetician recommended and the cashier recommended something else instead. It made me think that the $60 serum the esthetician recommended was just an up sell. It didn't matter what I bought because the serums were all the same, if this isn't the case whatever the esthetician says should be backed up by the cashiers.

Yelp
I really enjoy coming to Kohler Spa. My favorite part is turning off my phone and heading to the water room for a cold plunge and sauna. However, it is outrageously overpriced. They raised prices in May about 50%! My 80-minute massage went from $220 to $345 (anyone else notice this!?)! These are prices I'd expect to see at 5-star resort in a vacation town, not for a sub-par massage in Lincoln Park. The massages are usually decent, but not exceptional, and definitely not worth the $400 post tip price tag . Due to the price increase I only go to the spa about once a quarter instead of 2/month. Love the amenities, massages are decent, but overall not worth the massive price increase they implemented earlier this year.

C R.

Yelp
Horrible service at the front and with the manager and staff. We went with a group of women and one in the group requested a female massage therapist, they said it would be no problem but when we showed up they had her booked with a man and then couldn't fix the situation and claimed we should have called to confirm the preference before we came in. Which is bizarre. They eventually gave her a slight discount but after being very defensive and rude about it. The locker room was messy with towels and robes all over the floor because there was no clear place for customers to put used towels. The staff didn't tell you where to go for your appointments. The actual facial was just fine but with the horrible management and communication it isn't worth the price tag.

Yelp
Betty is the most wonderful aesthetician. I have incredibly sensitive skin and she managed to modify my Complete Regeneration Facial to not make my skin look like a tomato the next day, but still gave me the peel/glow I was looking for. It's so lovely to spend the day relaxing here before the treatment and the huge hot tub with it's various jets to focus on the pressure points is lovely and I appreciate that everyone actually respects the quiet/relaxation zones. A wonderful haven in the middle of a hectic city.

Yelp
I received a hydro rock treatment (50 minutes) with Simona (I think that was her name). She was lovely and so kind. My treatment was amazing. This was my 2nd time here and will definitely be coming back. Arrive early so you can enjoy the hydrotherapy spa (including steam room, sauna, cold plung pool, whirlpool/hot tub). Very clean and relaxing. Wonderful waiting area while you wait to be brought back for your treatment. Blankets were available on lounge chairs- fruit infused water, tea, little snacks also available. Treatment was super cool and included Himalayan salt scrub, a wrap, the vichy shower/hydrotherapy, facial massage with hot and cold stones, and ending with a lotion/moisturizing treatment. I'm probably not doing it justice- I'd say try it! The locker room is very nice and clean. They have great Kohler showers and I was able to dry my hair and put myself together with complementary hair dryer, brush, etc. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Nice little gem in the city. Pricey for sure! Relaxation lounge is well appointed and issue is its not very quiet. Thats not the fault of the lounge but the people in the lounge who cant be quiet...inside voices please. I do recommend they get headphones for people to drown out the morons who choose to talk loud in the relaxation lounge. or get heavier curtains to absorb more noise. services were awesome. I did a CBD massage and was very happy with it. The hot tub was amazing, the steam room and sauna were not hot enough but still effective. Great way to spend a few hours in the coming winter months.

Tony H.

Yelp
Good spa. Relaxing and helpful massage. I liked the different techniques used. Thermal suite was awesome due to the steam and especially due to the pool. Sauna wasn't hot enough in my opinion. Plunge pool was nice temperature, but I prefer ones that aren't a couple of steps and then an immediate drop off 8 ft deep. For me, it should be more of a more gradual walk into it. Locker room was a bit small / crowded. Relaxation room ahead of the treatment was a little bit crowded / felt like a number. Co-ed might catch some off guard. A little more pressure than usual at the end for an additional tip despite the 20% automatically included. Overall, a good experience... definitely not the best, not the worst, but above most.

Shelia J.

Yelp
Recently spent a day here and it was just what I needed after packing and unpacking boxes in our new home. The thermal suite took me away! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
A really good experience! Although the reviews prepared me to expect the worst. I'll address the the reviews but first very easy/cheap to park using Spothero at the nearby Lincoln commons garage. Very easy access and friendly welcome. Got some mint tea while I waited a few minutes to be greeted by the attendant who gave me a quick lay of the land. Everything was ready to go with a personalized card that outlined my treatment and the locker I was supposed to use. Very modern, clean, and relaxing environment although a bit on the bright side in common areas. I like a little bit more dark/serene. Massage was good, body wrap was good. I got a deep tissue and a sea lime sigh. Plenty of space to relax and the pool area is cool. Of course the faucets and sinks were all top notch lol To address the common complaints - yeah you sign a disclaimer but it was pretty innocuous. I could see some loud groups here in LP, perhaps a bachelorette party. woman seem to be the primary clientele. - locker room was spacious because I was the only guy but then again if you are a woman, you would likely have a crowded experience. -Therapists were all good and professional. The staff was all professional and friendly. -I had a gift card and it was super easy to use. Finally, yes it's too pricey. Large hotel spas charge the same or less. There are surcharges and minimum of two treatments for Friday thru Sunday. A lower price point would get them 5 stars for my experience. Aire would be a big competitor as well.

Yelp
Very good experience. My massage was wonderful! Only wished I'd requested my masseuse wear a mask. They were a smoker and it was very noticeable. The amenities are a huge plus. It's definitely a relaxing treat.

Yelp
I joined my wife for a spa day and ended up having an even better time than she did-and she had a great day. The accommodations were pristine and the staff friendly and very helpful. I had the second facial of my life and it was one of the lovelier experiences I can recall the aesthetician, Mary F. Asked me a number of pertinent questions, explained everything she was going to do and then proceeded to make the next 50+ minutes a true delight. Normally when I am so relaxed, I would fall asleep but I was enjoying my time so much I made sure to stay awake. It was a true highlight of the past many months and a day later I am still glowing. A truly wonderful experience. I have never felt so pampered in my life.

Yelp
The spa is not only very clean, the hospitality and dedicated staff members provide excellent customer service. I had the opportunity to try the Lavender Vichy shower service. It was very relaxing with a stimulating back massage using the showers made by Kohler Co. they also have a hot waters spa pool and cold pool with both hot & dry saunas that you can relax in prior to any service. Kohler has a Plethora of high end beauty products and facial modalities for sale in the lobby as well. Overall, it was an amazing experience making me feel relaxed and beautiful. I will definitely make future appointments!

G G.

Yelp
Loved this experience! The jacuzzi has the most amazing jets, and little alcoves with different jet locations to target different areas. Massage was outstanding. Place was impeccably clean and everyone who worked there was super friendly and helpful. Lots of water and tea stations. Loved the cold plunge, though it's not as cold as others I've used. Same with the jacuzzi - not as hot as I'd prefer, but lovely. One thing I really loved is that the facilities (other than locker rooms) are coed. The Kohler spa in Wisconsin has the jacuzzi, steam room and sauna in the locker rooms, so can't enjoy it with my hubby. Will definitely go back, even though it's pretty pricey.

Maribel C.

Yelp
Waaayyyyy tooooo expensive to be this mediocre. Massage therapist spent quite a stretch of to seated on table with me applying lotion to my legs (she wasn't massaging). I'm pretty certain she forgot we were both in the room because she didn't ask me to turn over until the last 5 to 10 minutes of the massage... Mind you this was an 80 minute session. they make a big to do about the water features, it's basically a nice hot tub, sauna, and a steam sauna. The room is so loud and noisy because of the Jets in the large pool/hot tub that I literally had to walk out after five minutes. This happened to someone else in my group as well. there's really nothing quite relaxing about that. For the price point, they really have to step it up. There's nothing special or amazing about this place. For the price point and the higher quality of therapist hightail it to spa space on Canal. Save yourself a couple hundred bucks and avoid this place.

C L.

Yelp
Customer service experience was positive. Good pedicure. Window lacks privacy. Good choice of polish and material used

Lisa W.

Yelp
I was contemplating not coming based on having to book two treatments. When making our appointments we were unable to get the services we had wanted and settled for what was available. This was over two weeks prior to the date requested. I chose the the custom facial. Hands down the worst service I have had in my 40 years going to spas. The second service was the Signature Water Treatment. The provider scrubbed half of my legs no torso, and my arms and front chest. I left feeling unmoisturized and unsatisfied The techs seem not to have been properly trained for a luxury thorough experience and the high cost of services should have left me thrilled and satisfied. The facility was nice but the services were so subpar that my friends and I will never return and will not recommend. Bummer for an unsatisfying experience.

Yelp
ANSWER THE PHONE! Who has a business where they don't have an option to speak to a human. For a massage so obnoxiously priced you should be able to speak to someone.

Yelp
This was my first time here . The place was beautiful . I booked a deep tissue massage . It def helped relieve some pain I was experiencing. I also loved the hot tub and the eucalyptus steam room sauna . Felt so relaxed when I left this place . Even the water was very good . So many different flavors to choose from . I will be returning again .

Yelp
Great Spa but I hope you don't have to call to reschedule or cancel an appointment. Called all day during business hours and no one ever answered the phone. No option online to reschedule or cancel. Left a VM to not get a call back. Not the first time this has happened. Please Hire someone to answer the phone.

Yelp
Top notch experience. I stopped in here while visiting from Arizona and I did not want to leave. I got a haircut from Moi, He did an excellent job and was so friendly. The staff were also very welcoming and accommodating. I was lucky to get an appointment a few days before, I wanted to come back a few days later with my husband but they were all booked. So basically if your looking for an awesome spa experience look no further and book that appointment. It will not disappoint! Thank you Kholer Water Spa for the awesome experience. I so look forward to coming back!

Yelp
I was pleased to have the opportunity to check out this spa a few days ago to kick off my birthday weekend. I have not visited the flagship location in Wisconsin yet. I have only been to this one in Chicago and the one in Burr Ridge, IL. I'm sure the flagship is Superior to the two Illinois locations, but I actually prefer this one over the Burr Ridge one in terms of the atmosphere. I arrived over an hour before my service appointment. I found a parking spot at the nearby Lincoln Commons parking garage. The first 90 minutes is free with validation by Kohler. The host showed me around the spa. I immediately jumped in the large heated jetted pool. The pool is so relaxing and calming. I wish I had came earlier so that I could have spent more time in it before my pedicure. The two different saunas were also relaxing. All of the staff I encountered were so sweet and accommodating. The pedicure was really good. The technician was very detailed and patient. I also enjoyed the warm blanket I was given during the service and the non aggressive massage chair. My last stop of the day was the relaxation room. Some reviews mentioned the fact that the relaxation room has patio chairs as the seating. This is true, but the chairs are super plush and practical for this space in my opinion. They provide trail mix, water, and tea in the relaxation room. The teas and trail mix were delicious. Prior to my visit at Kohler, I had mainly been to spas in the suburbs of Chicago and downtown Chicago. Kohler in Lincoln Park is an excellent option if you want a luxurious spa experience in calmer neighborhood outside of downtown Chicago.

Yelp
Had a great time! Went on a Thursday evening so very quiet. Had the lavender rain treatment which was fantastic-- note if you want a deep massage experience it won't be that, but it is very soothing and unique. Also loved the hot tub, the cold plunge pool, the sauna, and the eucalyptus steam room! Great soft robes and nice showers. The staff was very nice and attentive. There were also almonds, apples, yogurt covered raisins, spa water, and tea.

Chantal W.

Yelp
The Kohler Spa was highly recommended therefore my expectations were very high. In the spirit of celebrating my sister's birthday we chose to visit and I scheduled a deep tissue massage. To my dismay the therapist proceeded with her questions and my response was "I need all of your strength" she proceeded to perform the service and it was technically a Swedish massage not what was scheduled. I was asked after 10 minutes was the pressure good my response was no I would like a deep tissue she continued to ignore all of my requests once she turned me over I requested she end the massage because I was not pleased which she did not listen most likely afraid of management... However it got worst she could not even give a deep tissue massage... Fast forward to my check out she alerted the front desk but I'm not sure what was said but I expressed my anger and dislike and 20% was deducted after continuous complaint but the manager should have rebooked me because I was #1 dissatisfied but did not get a full massage She was unsure how to even handle the matter! I do not recommend and will not revisit because after completing the survey was not contacted. I do not like the way the service or management handled me and the dismissive response was very unprofessional PLEASE DO NOT BOOK AN APPOINTMENT here it was less than Satisfactory to say the least!

Yelp
We came in for my husbands 40th on a Wednesday at 9am for a couples massage. When we checked in we were asked to sign a behavioral "contract" and told that "our staff are professionals, and we expect our guests to be as well" ??? It was so odd and made me feel like i was entering a trashy place. Know your audience. I thought for the cost that the space was a bit outdated in the lounge area and whirlpool- it's just not that nice.

Yelp
There are far better spas for the price in Chicago (lookin at you Chuan Spa @ Langham Hotel in River North, among others). The locker room is very cramped and the lockers are TINY -- good luck if you have a winter coat and a large handbag. There are bizarre signs in multiple places in the locker room that indicate "no horseplay/please act appropriately for a spa environment" --- all I could think the entire time is what the heck kind of problems led to the need for such weird & off-putting signage. My massage was good, not great. It was very relaxing so I will give them that. Now comes the MAJOR problem --- I paid with a gift card I received for Christmas. They still charged my credit card!!! I called a couple of days later to rectify the situation and the employee that helped me did try but I am still extremely skeptical of this entire situation and am still waiting for a charge credit. (I will obviously be disputing the charge if it doesn't come off). Do not recommend; and if you do go keep your receipt!

Decent massage but no lockers due to a construction project. They called twice to confirm my appointment, but didn't bother to tell me there would be no lockers.

Yelp
Where do I begin?! What an awesome experience. Having been to many low end and high end spas around the world, I'm happy to say that this was a Top 3 experience. Located in the middle of Lincoln Park, this is a hidden gem. I had the uniquely yours massage and the cascading falls hydrotherapy treatment. The latter is a life changing experience! I would be happy to make a trip to Chicago just to have this experience again. I was there for 5 hours and could have stayed 5 more.

Yelp
Massage & service was amazing. Check-in and check-out was HORRIBLE!!! No one knew what they were doing. It's literally 4 people standing at one computer trying to figure out to check us out. I don't understand. We booked a group of 5. One person cancelled and it's been a mess every since. Literally 30 minutes later they figured out how to charge us. I hate to give such a negative rating because the massages were heavenly but customer service at the front desk was terrible. These girls need more training!!!

Yelp
Located on Lincoln Avenue near Halsted, this ultra new spa features relaxing luxury massages and special water massages. Afterwards you can lounge in the hot pool with multiple jets, a cold pool, a lavender and eucalyptus wet sauna and a dry heat sauna. Take your pick. I love the relaxing rooms. There are lots of teas, snacks, and drinks. The music is so calming. They have special events here too.

Yelp
The space is new, clean, and pretty. It is exactly how a spa should be! What is cool about this spa is that no matter what service you choose, you gain access to the steam room, sauna and best part: the pool! The pool has different jets to target, shoulders, back, lower back, butt, legs, etc. Which was such a nice surprise! After enjoying those facilities, we ventured up to the waiting lounge for our service. It was very relaxing and tranquil. I tried the Hydrarock 50 minutes service which was great but very choppy in terms of all the different components of the service so it wasn't as relaxing but my skin felt smooth after the scrub! I was a little ticklish from the water jet component of the service, so note if you are a little ticklish, to be aware! After the service we went back to the same lounge to drink tea and chill more. My only complaint was after the service, I was asked 5 times if I was someone else by a staff looking for other folks who had appointments-- I wish they had a better system to identify who has already been to their service. I was given a card at the end of my service that said "thank you" which I put on on the table next to me. All the staff I met during my time there were lovely and helpful All in all, I am thrilled we have this spa in the neighborhood and I will definitely go back!

Yelp
Wife and I went here yesterday she had a massage and facial and I had massage and body scrub. All very good, my wife said her massage was one of the best she ever had. I would say my services were too. Highly recommend, we will be back

Yelp
BEWARE! My friend had her passport & debit card stolen out of her locker during her service the other day. Within an hour, transactions occurred (confirmed with the physical card) at a store right around the corner from the spa. Only someone who has the ability to open the LOCKED lockers could have taken these items. It is currently being investigated but we are all convinced it was an employee.

Yelp
I took my daughter to this spa for her birthday and I would never return. It was WAY overpriced and the service was mediocre. There was some confusion over the validation of my parking ticket and I called over a week ago to ask for a refund of my $22 for parking (not unreasonable since I had just spent $850 for just over 2 hours worth of services for the 2 of us and they did not communicate the parking policy clearly)....no one ever responded to my call. I also filled out a survey that they sent me and it asked if I would like someone to contact me and I responded yes....it's more than a week later and I'm still waiting for that call. There was also a mix up about where I should go to wait for my pedicure. She took me 10 minutes late and she still finished 5 minutes early. If I'm spending $78 for a simple pedicure then I don't want shortcuts! Bottom line, find somewhere else to go for your money. This place is NOT worth it.

Yelp
There is a hair salon here that is a very well-kept secret. Moi is an exceptional stylist and makes the experience very fun. The facilities are top notch and prices are reasonable.

Yelp
I can't believe there are any negative reviews here . I had the best morning ! It started with a 10am massage - I did the city life massage . I will say if you get the Citylife massage, it's more of a fast paced, not totally relaxing massage. If you're looking for more of a Swedish, I'd go with something else. Regardless I loved it. There is a lounge you sit in before the massage in the comfiest robe of all time with sandals. The lounge is filled with mini granola squares, tea, cucumber and coconut water (literally crack, I had about 100) and comfy chairs with blankets. After the massage I went down to the pool. It's basically a giant hot tub, but every little space has an area that jets target on your body. There was also a cold tub, a eucalyptus sauna, and a dry sauna. The pool are is super nice. I went to shower before I left and I am obsessed with the showers . You can pick your own temperature on a remote control attached to the wall, and the bathroom amenities are top notch. They even had Moroccan oil products for women's hair, brushes that were sanitized, curler , deodorant, hair dryers, and even razors and shaving cream. I was very impressed with the bathroom. If I had to recommend any improvements- I'd say a hair straightener in the bathroom and that's about it ! I spent two hours here and wish i had time to spend more -I would add more pictures but we couldn't use our phones muc- perfect for a girls day. Can't wait to come back with my Mom! **** update : came here for a second time and want to give a shout out to Jody. I've had him both times for massages by chance and he's so kind , and his attention to detail is fantastic . He remembered things we talked about last time and even gave us a complimentary glass of champagne because I said we were celebrating a belated valentines . People like him make the customer experience amazing !

Yelp
I want to love this place so much and was excited when they opened in the neighborhood however I have given the facilities multiple opportunities to deliver in the luxury spa experience that they sell and have underdelivered each time. Although they list a phone number I have never been able to speak with someone on the phone unless they return my call. The pool facility is disappointing and understaffed. Every time I have been the pool room has garbage throughout and wet towels making it hard to find an available clean chair space. For the price tag i expect much more from a spa. I am happy to pay but for the same price I can go to the peninsula and be guaranteed the luxury experience.

Yelp
My second visit was much different than my first. I still enjoyed the amenities and my facial was great but my massage was one of the worst I've ever had. Especially for the price, I was really disappointed.

Yelp
As a huge fan of The Kohler Spa in Wisconsin and evening Burr Ridge, I was excited that the spa now has a location in the city! The hot tub, sauna, and steam room are amazing to have when you're there for a service, but it was a bit crowded on a Sunday morning. Way more crowded than anything I'd experienced at the other locations. I had a pedicure and for the price, it wasn't worth it. Heck, even if it was a $25 pedicure I don't think I'd be back. The manicurist gouged in my toe nail, and had to redo the nail paint, taking the pedicure longer. I'll likely be back - it is nice to use the amenities, but will try a massage next time, and will try to go on a weekday, when it may be less crowded.

Yelp
Fantastic service and very relaxing spa/sauna/steam area. Bonus: they have a cold plunge!! The only downside is the noise coming in from the street in the upper treatment lounge. Also, they don't offer day passes, which is unfortunate because I'd visit more frequently.

Yelp
I've gone to this spa before and during Covid - it's important to recognize what these companies are dealing with today - which is why I feel it's important to share my takeaways before Covid as well. Overall, I find the quality of service to be satisfactory. I'm underwhelmed by the substance of the massage for the price point (and I've paid more and less for massages around the world and still stand by this price point not measuring up to the standard). I don't particularity find the general amenities that special. My facial, while effective, came at the cost of feeling like I neglect myself and my skincare based on my technicians commentary. I would implore Kohler staff to recognize that many people are managing a regimen they can make work. They should encourage their clientele to consider some new methods rather than treating them like they have neglected their skincare so they feel guilted into buying improvement product from your shop. I don't pay for these services to feel shamed.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting a spa and I was blown away with the excellent customer service from Lauren, Ken and Elizabeth. Since it was my birthday I was greeted with a nice card and balloons which was very thoughtful. The facility is well maintained and the amenities are very comfortable and relaxing. I scheduled a CBD infused massage with Jada. The massage was very soothing and she was very skilled in loosening all my tight areas. Never felt better! After this experience I would consider coming back on a regular basis.
