"On Atlantic City’s boardwalk I enjoyed Kohr’s Frozen Custard—the orange‑cream‑vanilla swirl is a Jersey Shore classic made from an old formula with more egg yolk and less air for stable, creamy custard on hot days." - Arati Menon, Megan Spurrell

Best Soft Serve Ice Cream!!!! If you are in the area this is a must! I truly enjoy coming here with my family. Whenever we are craving ice cream this is our go to spot! We usually do the chocolate and vanilla twirl - so delicious. The soft serve is the perfect blend of creaminess and smooth yumminess! Cash only!!!

CASH ONLY! But Wait! They have an on site ATM with a $3.50 fee! I used to love Kohr's; it was a must have when visiting the boardwalk, but not anymore. Just two doors down, Mr. Softee takes credit cards and even has a huge sign letting you know. I usually carry cash, but with these astronomical prices ($6.50-$8.00 as of Aug 2025) for my wife and four kids, I'd need a bank loan to pay. To make things worse, one vanilla cone was a perfect shape and swirl, but the very next one was already melting all over the worker's hands as it was passed to us. It was impossible for my son to eat. Very disappointing all around.

It was a overcast, chilly day at Point Pleasant. The beach was basically closed and the only activities available were playing arcade games and grabbing Kohr’s.

1-Star Review for Kohr’s Frozen Custard (Point Pleasant Beach Boardwalk) Title: Absolutely Disgusting Hygiene – I Walked Away Without My Order! I visited Kohr’s Frozen Custard on the Point Pleasant Beach boardwalk today (July 11, 2025) and had one of the most appalling experiences I’ve ever had at an ice cream shop. I ordered a mint and chocolate swirl in a waffle cone dipped in chocolate, excited for a classic boardwalk treat. What happened next was straight out of a nightmare. The young employee scooped the ice cream into the cone just fine, but then he took it to the back to dip it in chocolate. From what I could see, the cone tipped over, and he caught the entire thing with his bare hand – resulting in chocolate smeared all over his hands. He then plopped the messy cone into a cup and casually asked if I still wanted it or if he should remake it. Shocked, I politely asked him to remake it. Instead of washing his hands or grabbing gloves, he went to the back room, pushed the ruined ice cream off the original cone into the trash (still with his chocolate-covered hands), and proceeded to prepare a new one using the same contaminated cone. No gloves, no napkins, no hand washing – just handling my food with sticky, dirty hands. It was beyond unsanitary and completely unprofessional. At that point, I couldn’t stomach the thought of eating anything from there. I told him thank you but I didn’t want it anymore, and I walked away empty-handed. This place clearly has no regard for basic food safety standards. Avoid at all costs – there are plenty of other ice cream spots on the boardwalk that won’t risk your health!

Watched them fill machines with non kohrs mix.didnt even taste like custard.was light and airy not custard dense.cash only so they can avoid taxes.vety disappointed.they should take the signs down since it's false advertising and probably a franchise violation.this was after labor day,so I don't know if this practice is in effect during the season.

Family day on the boardwalk! Seeing family and great grandma wanted to bring the girls to the same place she went to when she was a kid. As someone from Texas I only knew of soft serve in vanilla or chocolate, so this was a cool treat…. Literally

I've gone to Point Pleasant Boardwalk many times in the last 40-plus years. Every time, one thing is for certain there will be a line at the Kohrs frozen custard stand. They been serving frozen custard for 100 years! They have a lot of different flavors of custard & ice cream. People like the Orange Vannilla, Raspberry Vannilla, and Chocolate peanut butter. I opted for the homemade ice cream blueberry Vannilla. Good quality ice cream real blueberries 🫐. I enjoyed it ,the service was friendly & quick. Portions are good, from my experience. It is attached to a famous little fish & chips stand, too. That has some tasty hand cut French fries and funnel cakes. Kinda the perfect one two punch of flavors. It's worth checking out if you are visiting The Jersey Shore.

I just asked 2 people behind the counter... They said they are absolutely NOT kosher... So I don't know where anyone is getting that they're kosher
