16 Things to See and Do in Tallinn, Estonia (Updated 2025)
"For the best skyline view of the old town and harbor I ended my day at the Kohtuotsa viewing platform on Toompea Hill — it’s a peaceful spot often with buskers and an ideal place to watch the sunset." - Matthew Kepnes
The viewing spot offers truly unbeatable views in every season. Whether in sunshine, snow, or sunset light, the panorama over Tallinn’s Old Town is simply stunning. A must-visit spot for photos and for taking in the timeless beauty of the city.

Quite a nice view of the city from here. The opening is not very large, so in certain circumstances it can be a bit crowded.
Less than 200m away is another viewing point, Patkuli.

For an excellent vantage point to capture a photograph of the old town, we recommend a location where the Tallinn sign is prominently displayed on the left, a spot that is quite popular with visitors.

Great views over Tallinn and easily accessible. Has a souvenir shop next to it with great prices. Was here a sunny day in November. Free to access.

We went here on New Years Eve to see the city at midnight. We were not disappointed! We went to look earlier in the day and it was amazing then too. It’s free, it’s not far, it’s definitely worth a look.
