Kokkedal Castle Copenhagen

I recently helped plan and photograph a wedding at Kokkedal Slot, and I have to say, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The Setup: We rented the ground floor for the ceremony, which we decorated in a romantic, elegant style. The high ceilings and classic architecture made the space look incredible. To add to the atmosphere, we had a violin and cello playing live, and the acoustics were perfect. Upstairs on the first floor, we transformed the room into an intimate dining area for the reception. It felt so cozy and personal for the dinner. Photo Spots: This place is a gem for photos. The terraces and staircases at both entrances are beautiful for group shots and portraits. However, the highlight is the huge backyard. With the hotel as the backdrop, it creates an incredibly beautiful and timeless image. My personal favorite spots are the ceremony room itself (so elegant) and the welcoming front entrance. The Logistics: We got lucky that the day flowed really well. Moving from the ceremony downstairs to the reception upstairs was easy. There is a lounge on the ground floor and a balcony on the first floor for guests to mingle. If the weather is nice, the big terrace outside the lounge is perfect for an outdoor reception. Heads Up & Honesty: The getting-ready room for the couple was a little on the small side and could have used better lighting, so keep that in mind for hair and makeup. It was actually cloudy and rainy on the day, but because our ceremony was indoors, it wasn't an issue at all. It just proves that if you plan an outdoor event here, make sure you have a solid backup plan! Lighting: The afternoon light in the ground floor lounge and on the terrace is beautiful. In the summer, the big tree in the yard provides a lovely romantic vibe for photos. The Dream Team: I also have to mention the wonderful vendors we worked with. The florist tied the elegant classical vibe together perfectly, the cake was a special design that fit the theme, and the live musicians truly elevated the ceremony.

I had a wonderful stay here. The front desk staff “Dagmar” were professional, friendly, and very helpful. She patiently assisted me with check-in and gave great recommendations about the area. Her warm service made me feel truly welcome. I do really thanks for “Dagmar” about her help and kindness ! Highly recommended! 🌟

Not really a nice hotel. Small room and the bathroom was very small also with silver fiches! The dinner was not what we expected and the wine on glas small like vinegar.|The hotel is small and you have to walk a lot to your room no elevator.|Parking small so you have to park on the road if you are late. |The surrounding with a golf klubb is nice but that’s it.

We spent a week at this wonderful hotel. Grounds and buildings are fantastic and made for a great experience. We stayed in one of the “superior” rooms in the Annex. Room was super quiet - I don’t think we heard another human while inside our room the entire week. The room was a good size for two adults, however the bed was very close to the wall on one side making it a tight squeeze to get in and out of need. No refrigerator in the room which was annoying but not a deal breaker. Room also had a controllable air conditioner unit which was unexpected and nice. Breakfast was the same spread each morning and was worth eating. Hotel is about a 15 minute walk on a paved pedestrian/bike path from a train station so that was super convenient. You don’t “need” a car if staying here but I would still recommend having one as it made getting around to places other than Copenhagen itself much easier. Parking at the hotel is free and was a bit tricky on the weekend evenings as the hotel was fuller. There is plenty of parking on the grounds but it’s a little chaotic and you may not be super close to your room. Not far mind you, but not directly in front of your building either. You won’t regret staying here.

The hotel is excellent both with regards to food, location and bar/breakfast service. However, the reception management fails to deliver a satisfactory a service. The invoice breakdown was not clear and a problem to obtain clarity about. No replies whatsoever. Several days of chasing unanswered questions elicited a rude and unprofessional telephone conversation with no satisfactory outcome at all. Sadly we will not be returning.

Beautiful hotel set in a castle overlooking a stunning golf course. We stayed here as part of a Trek Travel cycling trip and loved the experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Filona at reception, who answered every question with a big smile. Dinner was excellent, and while breakfast was simpler, it was still satisfying with plenty of choice. I can’t comment on pricing since our stay was part of a package, but overall everything was very well taken care of. Highly recommend!

We spent a weekend with friends and this was a great experience. We have been here before, some years ago, but the experience, like last time, was very good. The food is great both the dinner and the breakfast. The room was great, we stayed in the annex and if you like, this is a great area for taking a walk.

We’ve been here before and were a little disappointed this time about small things we are accustomed to: a fridge (there is now a gaping hole in the closet where it used to be), simple things like a cup for toothbrushes and a bag for laundry are now also missing. The breakfast maybe gorgeous, but we just want one bun, a cup of (amazing) coffee and an egg. €30 is outrageous. They graciously agreed to give us a thermos, but I do not yet know how much they will charge.
