on a cobblestone street, near a flowing river - you forget you are also in a thriving town. We stayed in a suite with an open view and terrace. The room is furnished beautifully in the style of its original design, but has all the modern function one needs. We had a fresh and delicious breakfast each morning. Vera, our host, was wonderful and helped us with transfers to Vergina as well as Thessaloniki. We knew very little about Veria itself and soon discovered wonderful dining options and the astonishing Byzantine Museum. We can’t wait to return!

This hotel has a special place in my heart, not only because of its interior and the view, but most importantly of its hospitality. Vera and the rest of the staff made sure that we had a lovely stay. PS. The bed was the most comfortable EVER.

My most favourite hotel in Greece. The sound of the river and the view from the windows are divine. You feel like a fairytale!

We enjoyed staying 2 nights at the Κόκκινο Σπίτι Boutique Hotel very much. It is a small cozy very friendly family run hotel. From the first moment we felt very welcome and almost at home. The room was very nice and we could hear the river music in the evening. The very generous tasty breakfast was personally served to us at our table. We especially enjoyed the personal discussions with the owners to learn about life in Greece and of course in Veria. They also provided good recommendations for restaurants in town. We highly recommend the Red House Boutique Hotel. Liz and Josh

This was the most unexpected and enjoyable stay in our visit to Greece. Before we arrived, we didn't know anything about Veria and its history. But when planning our trip, we saw that there was a synagogue on the site of one that had been built 200 years ago. And to our surprise, the hotel was right next to it!|Our room was small but clean, beautiful, and very comfortable. The decor was delightful and the bathroom, though small, was perfect. We had a room that overlooked the fast-moving stream outside and were finally able to sleep with our windows open and fall asleep to the sound of the water. It was wonderful.|We also decided to take the inn's breakfast, which was perfect. Everything was so fresh and clean.|Finally, our hosts gave us excellent directions to an excellent restaurant and provided us with maps and information about the area and its history. It is clear that they are very informed and proud of the history of Veria and restored the buildings that are now the inn with great care and love. |While it's a little out of the way, it was so worth coming to visit Veria and to stay at this beautiful little inn.

I have visited three times to Kokkino Spiti Hotel. The facility is situated in a magnificently restored house in the Jewish Quarter. Exquisite woodwork, beautiful tile and unique masonry grace the house. A splendid view of the river gorge out the back of the house is also available. Staff are kind and accommodating. It is a family run business. A fantastic place to launch into explorations of nearby Thessaloniki without being in the midst of urban highrises. Bonus is the historical location (the local synagogue was likely built over the foundation of the place where Paul visited Beria as recorded in Acts 17).

Marvellous little hotel in the Jewish quarter of Veria, right next to the historic synagogue. Old building is gently renovated and offers great value for money. We enjoyed 4 nights in a spacious room with a balcony on the river. Excellent bed.|When you book online you will receive a detailled plan how to drive to the building, read it carefully as the hotel is not easy to find!|We consider Veria an authentic town that has preserved a lot of its ordinary daily life. We did not feel as tourists but were welcomed everywhere as guests.|Do not miss the old cathedral, the museum and a walk to the many Byzantine churches. You also might want to visit the tombs in the area of Naoussa close to Veria.

This hotel is set on the banks of the river, which runs through Beroia, a city well known in ancient times and in fact mentioned in the New Testament. Our room was clean, well decorated and comfortable with an excellent shower. You paid extra for breakfast but at 10 Euros each, it was certainly worth it (good and plentiful food eaten in a charming dining room). The staff were helpful and the location good (it's pretty central). Access is a a slight problem - if you are driving you have to negotiate a set of narrow, twisty roads and ours sat nav struggled to access the place. It's next two the old synagogue, which dates from the 1850s and, remarkably, was not burnt by the Nazis. It's certainly worth a visit for all sorts of reasons, not last the excellence and dedication of the guide. This is a good hotel from which to explore the Vergina tombs and other ancient Macedonian sites.
