The ambiance was lovely, ideal for a dinner with friends and family. The servers were extremely friendly and attentive.
However, the food was average, lacking any standout qualities and didn't justify the price. There are likely other teppanyaki restaurants that offer better value.
Honestly, I anticipated a bit of a culinary “performance”, I was slightly disappointed as the chef simply focused on cooking. Nevertheless, he did an excellent job of explaining each dish. Perhaps due to its upscale nature, it fell short of my expectations overall.

Very poor service. It's not our first time eating at this restaurant and we didn't expect the service to be very poor now. We arrived at the restaurant at 6:10 and started tidying up the table at 7 o'clock. They told us at 7:20 that we needed to leave because they had a booking. If they told me that the meal time was only one hour before we sat down, we would consider whether to eat here or not. If we were informed, we would be happy to return the table, but without our knowledge, there were many empty tables around us, and they wanted us to leave. I was very angry, but I didn't expect that Koko is now a fast food restaurant

Great atmosphere, friendly and professional staff, and good food.
Came here for a birthday and had the Sumire set.
Each dish was well made and was good value for money. Would come here again for a special occasion

They have updated their teppanyaki menu recently which I think deserves a new review.
As always the service and atmosphere is wonderful at this place.
We got the Sansui teppanyaki set menu and for $195 per person I believe it is well worth it. They kept some of the stuff like sushi etc from the old set menu and adding new stuff like abalone to the set which is a very nice addition.

Very nice ambiance, friendly staff and delicious food. Lots of tables and space..
You might be seated with other people but we were lucky we got the whole table for ourselves..
The chef was quite but still it was a wonderful experience.
Definitely a must for family and friends.

Great food, atmosphere and service! We dined a la carte and especially enjoyed the seafood fried udon. The sashimi and sushi platters also were fabulous. Pricing was pretty reasonable for a restaurant of this calibre, although the serving sizes are a little smaller than what you might expect, so would recommend ordering more dishes than you initially might think you need (if you’re not going with a set menu).
We were seated right next to the teppanyaki tables and were pleasantly surprised that there was no rowdiness or noise like you sometimes find in teppanyaki restaurants - it was a very comfortable dining experience. Our waiter was also very lovely and attentive.
Only complaint would be that this place is a bit difficult to find within Crown and required a lot of signposting and consulting Google Maps.

This is a large Japanese restaurant that offers Teppanyaki bbq, a la carte, and small sashimi bar.
It’s located on the 3rd floor a Melbourne’s 5 star hotel and casino Crown Towers in the tourist area of Southbank.
The variety of dishes on the menu is good, and we enjoyed the fresh BBQ seafood.
The yuzushu spritz cocktail was very delicious. Syrupy sweet and citrusy.
The 5x mark up on sake is disappointing. I know restaurants mark up wine, but this seemed a little extreme. Google prices and make your own judgement.
The teppanyaki BBQ seating arrangement is a little cramped. We were seated with 6 other people who the 1 chef was serving simultaneously. We weren’t seated infront of the chef, rather over his left shoulder.
Thankfully this Teppanyaki is the traditional style where the chef just cooks the food, not the circus trick variety.
Restaurant was quite loud and rowdy. Visitor experience may vary.

Excellent food and service, we did the set menu for teppanyaki and we were so full at the end we could barely finish the fried rice! Great for a special occasion! So delicious!
