This place was perfect for my husband and me. It is well equipped if you wanted to cook, heat things up, store things in a refrigerator with a freezer. ||It is in walking distance of some yummy restaurants. ||We sat outside each night under sails (for shade) on the group patio. ||FYI, there is no ice machine and no front desk. ||Contact with the owner was fabulous. She even called back to make sure everything was ok. ||The place has their own parking lot and we felt very safe here. ||Our place sleeps 4, but if 4 people brought all their luggage in, it would be tight. However, the parking lot is just right there. ||I love this concept.

The for-sale sign out front should have been our first warning at this rundown motel. The room was much smaller than the photos suggested and filled with dirt and debris from a recent storm. Though decently clean, it was infested with roaches and countless spiders. Management blamed the bugs on the storm, but cobwebs over the bed and in the shower told a different story. We even found a spider nest under the bathroom sink. The tiny shower was hard to use, and the towels had hair and stains. The bed was another major letdown—soft, lumpy, and paired with flat, unsupportive pillows. Adding to our discomfort, there was a power outage one night, leaving us without AC in 100° heat for four hours, and we couldn’t reach management. Management offered to clean the room and spray for bugs after we reported the issues. While we appreciated their effort, it didn’t fully solve the problem, as we continued to find dead or dying bugs throughout the night. Overall, our stay was uncomfortable and far from worth the $142/night. We wish we had spent more to stay elsewhere.

I booked the Sunset Butte Studio unit#9. The cancellation policy is 48 hours after reservation is made. Not like hotels that are 48 hours before check in. I only received $124 of the $193 back. $70 was. I called AirBnB. Their customer support was helpful but host would not refund the remaining $70. I cancelled online and also through an AirBnb agent. I would proceed with caution using this accommodation. And I will not use AirBnB again. I am a retired nurse and if I worked like this I would not have had a job. Very disheartening!

Contrary to many reviews, there is no hot tub. Our unit's door handle was loose and seemed like it could be easily broken off. The tile on the shower floor is crumbling. The person on the after hours support line was very helpful and the AC works well.

It's key for me to note: my husband and I have stayed at Kokopelli Lodgings in Moab for years! We visit Moab annually and have lots of great memories of our stays in previous years; so, I'm sad to say we won't ever return to Kokopelli Lodgings. ||When we arrived at Kokopelli #5, the room smelled thick of cigarettes, the bedside lights were broken and unusable, and there were stains all over the carpets. I'm also not convinced the bedding had been properly cleaned. As such, we called the two listed contact numbers 4 times during the first day of our arrival, and followed up via email. No response. We then tried again the following day. The employee who answered our call neither offered an apology, or a solution to the various problems we mentioned. We noted that, according to their website, most of the other buildings were available during our scheduled stay; so, we asked if we could just switch rooms. We were offered a firm "no". When we asked to speak to the manager/owner, he first swore at us, told us he was "tired" of our complaining (he used a more profane word here) about the state of the room - then threatened to call the police on us (the absurdity of which just made me laugh). But, at this point, we told him to refund our money, in full, and that we would move to another location. He agreed to our leaving/refund, but seemed overly cocky, suggesting it would be impossible to find something this short of notice. But, TripAdvisor friends, we had secured lodging in about 10 minutes, and our new motel even agreed to let us in before the normal check-in time. Not only that: our new place (still downtown) was cheaper, cleaner (it was cleaned daily), had a larger kitchen and larger beds, a pool, and laundry room. You can and should do better than Kokopelli Lodgings.

Google
Over priced for the condition of the room. Room smelled terrible, that was the first thing I noticed when I walked in. It smelled like skunk or like something had died. Outside smelled fine so not sure what that's about, couldn't even air out the room because there was no window. The room itself was adequate for just a place to sleep, but most everything could use an update/repair. The bathroom door was just an unpainted sliding piece of wood, the bed was uncomfortable, wifi slow, lots of stains chair, towels, bedding, the coffee maker was ancient. The walls were so thin you could hear the people in the room next door chatting. Even for a motel this place was pretty bad. The only redeeming factor is the location of the place, walkable to lots of restaurants/shops and close to lots of outdoor attractions. However, I would not stay here again nor do I recommend staying here.

Google
Pros- The location was convenient to walk to restaurants and a few mins drive to Arches NP entrance. And it was a budget stay. Cons- It wasn’t clean. First the doors didn’t seal so dirt can blow in, making the floors appear dirty. There was hair in the bedding (not ours). But the big thing for me, was the towels. They smelled sour, if you used them to dry off, you could smell it all day.

Google
Dirty and run down. Bedspread was torn. Bathroom extra gross. Stained bathroom floor, walls have holes, maybe water damage. Mold, mildew and shower with no pressure at all in shower. No one to complain to, very convenient as they must have lots of complaints. I emailed Arches once home and no refund. Said they would notify housekeeping and maintenance. These are long term issues that have been happening for years. Yet they have no problem charging nearly $200/night.

Yelp
AVOID at all costs. Absolutely disgusting. Arrived here and as soon as I opened the door to my room I was hit with the smell of musty dog. I immediately noticed little white dried up stains on the comforter and the crunch of dirt under my feet on the floor. Upon further inspection, I pulled the comforter back and noticed hair, to include what looked like a PUBIC hair... dried up white stains on the pillow shams too. I called the number provided in the guest book and no answer. I left a message asking if I could please get some clean sheets, I waited an hour and no response. I called the booking agency and they couldn't even get a hold of the property. I kept trying to call back with no luck. Now being in the military I've slept in some crappy places, but this was beyond. Also, the door handle was extremely loose and the door didn't even seal shut. I did not feel safe or comfortable trying to sleep here so I had to go down the road and book a last minute hotel. I still haven't received any communication from anyone regarding this over 24 hours later. They have zero standards for quality. Please don't make the same mistake I did, avoid this place.

Yelp
This is a review of "KOKOPELLI LODGE" - Kokopelli LODGINGS appear to manage multiple properties... Beware and be sure you are renting the property you thought based on the pictures!! I feel mislead on this rental - I started on Trip Advisor where this property was listed under "Kokopelli Lodgings" which I later found out means they have multiple properties! What I thought I was renting was NOT where I ended up at. There is Kokopelli West (which is what I thought I was renting), Kokopelli Lodge (which is where I ended up), Kokopelli Inn Towner and who knows how many other properties - BEWARE! Pay close attention to not end up disappointed like I was. I arrived AT "KOKOPELLI LODGE" around 7-8pm on 11/27/20. I had received information about how to enter the unit before the day of check in, just NOT WHAT UNIT I HAD RENTED!! I called the phone number for the property management and left a voice message. After some time had passed I decided to just try my door code on ANY unit that did NOT appear to be occupied - and just like hitting the jackpot, a door opened! Yay, glad I was able to find MY unit!! Then while I was organizing my things inside the unit the property management called - I told them NO UNIT was provided within any emails and how I randomly tried my door code on doors until one opened. NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! The Kokopelli Lodge units have paper thin walls, I could hear the neighbors talking on one side and the TV running all night long on the other side. When I turned on the shower - in the phone booth sized shower - there was a musty/mildew smell. Then I looked at the shower ceiling (which is painted purple) to see many dark spots of mildew/mold! I am a small person and let me tell you - the shower is SMALL, be prepared to hit your elbows multiple times washing your hair! The bathroom itself was very small, now I know why there were no pictures of the bathroom. I dropped something on the floor next to the bed and when I went to pick it up I noticed there were quite a few dust bunnies and hair from previous guests on the floor - gross. Also, I'm not sure when was the last time the floor throw rugs were washed - maybe last season by the looks of it! The wall unit heater, next to the head of the bed, kept us warm but also woke me every time it turned on which was often since the temps were in the 20's overnight and the front door was not hung straight so allowed cold air into the unit. Very minimal, small (especially the bathroom), a bit dirty (floors & mildew in shower) unit. Pros - close to main street so can walk to many restaurants, easy access electronic door locks, close to National Parks, sorry I can't think of anything else...

Yelp
This is for the Inn Towner off Main near the Jail House Coffee Shop. I found this place on AirBnB and just love it. Perfect location on the best part of Main St. Big bedroom with a king and two twins. Full kitchen with table for 6. Big & nicely decorated living room. Good bathroom with full tub & shower. Whole units, Schlage locks (for the experienced), AIR CONDITIONED, perfect location. The hot tub was super fun - plenty of lights and jet dials to play with. For the price an amazing value.

Yelp
I'm so torn here. On one hand, this place is straight up awesome. In the heart of downtown Moab, the cutest office sign ever. Super friendly staff for booking over the phone and check-in. But the room decor was a bit dated, the bathroom tiny with no amenities, and the bed was super uncomfortable. It was pretty inexpensive during the week at $79 per night, so no complaints there. Would I stay here again for a night? Sure! I'm actually super curious how the rest of the rooms look. Would I want to stay here for a week? No way. The bed literally put a cramp in my style (aka: back).

Yelp
We are Utahns and for 10 years have stayed in Moab for the Winter Sun 10k. The past 3 years we have stayed at the Kokopelli West cabins and loved our experience. This year the property has apparently been sold and under new ownership, and our experience could not have been worse. I don't often write reviews, but feel compelled to warn anyone that might be considering this property for their stay. First, our group as with past years rented all of the cabins. Upon check in we realized half of the units had non-working heaters. Several calls to the management/owner went unanswered and only after an evening of us researching on the internet did we realize that none of the filters had been cleaned in months causing the units to overheat and shut down. The filters were disgusting and once removed the heat worked again. 2 of the units had lights hanging off the walls with exposed 110v wiring. Very unsafe, especially for those of us that had kids in our rooms. There was no response from management/ownership to fix this. In both our unit and several others the sinks were clogged not allowing any water to drain. Multiple calls to the management/ownership went unanswered and we never did get them fixed. We were forced to use the shower and kitchen sink for brushing teeth and washing our hands. One of the kids in our group had an accident, and we requested access to the laundry or to have the bedding replaced. 3 days later the soiled bedding remained outside our room even after multiple calls and texts to the management. Bath mats and rugs were old and unwashed. Several of the units including ours smelled of urine, and we had to hang the rugs outside the units to get rid of the odor. Others were covered in stains and toothpaste. Lastly, the coffee makers were all missing, and we were told in a text message that this was done for 'safely reasons'. None were ever delivered per our request. This seems like a small complaint, but as someone who travels many nights a year I expect a coffee maker if the room is advertised with one (as this one was). It's even shown in the photos. To add insult to injury, the new name brand hotel within eyesight of this had rooms for half the price during our weekend. We nearly packed up and walked across the street but couldn't afford the charge of another room. So far we have not heard any resolution from the management/ownership, nor have they responded to a request for any kind of refund. While we plan on taking this up with our credit card company, I would urge any prospective customers to look elsewhere when booking in Moab. There are a lot of great properties in this town and while this used to be one of them, that time has passed. Buyer beware.

Yelp
Just stayed at the Kokopelli Lodge ,, what a mistake! The owners obviously don't care about this place that is supposed to be dog friendly , ,they have a dog run that was full of really bad goat head burrs that we spent two hours pulling out of our Yorkies paws and he was in there for like 10 seconds before we figured it out. Garbage cans in the parking lot were over flowing and there was garbage on the pavement as we walked by ,, really gross! Tried to sit on the patio to relax after pulling burrs out of our dog for two hours but the diesel fumes from Rocky Mountain Power right behind the fence made that impossible. This place does not care at all about its guests , ,if you see my pictures it shows you why not to stay here.

Yelp
I stayed at Kokopelli Lodge for a few nights on my most recent trip to Moab. Was referred here by a friend, and am so glad I tried this place out! Before arriving, I made my reservation on the phone with a really nice woman who runs the group of lodgings. We talked a lot about our dogs and she was super friendly. When we arrived, she was there in the office to greet me and my dog, along with two of her own! She was very helpful, showed us the little yard area, and the hot tub, and also talked about recycling. Since I had been coming to Moab for many years, she asked if I needed any recommendations for hiking or dining, but I told her I was fine and had places in mind to visit. I loved that the rooms are cozy, and remodeled 50's style rooms! They were very clean, and were perfect for one or two people and a dog or two. The rooms had everything I was looking for when I come to Moab...a clean and comfy bed, shower, nice sink, and great location! The room I was in had a refrigerator, microwave, and a tv, of which I did not use, but were there if you wish to use them. The only drawback was that the people in the hot tub in the property behind the Kokopelli Lodge can be very noisy, and you can hear their conversations at night. However, that usually stops by about 9 PM, which was totally fine. I stayed in room 5, and while I did not hear my neighbors in room 4 (which changed both nights I was there,) the different people in room 6 were very audible. I think the rooms are set up a bit differently, and some people just talk more than others. However, after an amazing day of Moab adventures, I was able to sleep in and relax, which is soooo nice when you are on vacation here! I cannot wait to come back!

Yelp
We stayed in the suites just outside of town so that we could have a separate bedroom to put our 18-month-old down in while we could stay up after he went down. The first 4 nights we stayed in unit 1, which was two bedrooms and amazing. Each room had it's own heat and there were nice shag carpets for the kid to play on. It also had two tubs to give him a bath in. The final night, we had to switch to unit 2 which was not nearly as nice. It was only one bedroom (which we expected and was fine), but it also only had one heater which wasn't in the bedroom, so we couldn't put him down there for fear of him getting way too cold with the door to the heat closed. Also, there was only a single 3/4 bath with the only access being through the bedroom. The layout was just not nearly as nice. Both units had a full kitchen with pots, pans, etc., which made staying there really nice as we could cook and prepare lunches before going out hiking. If we'd only stayed at the first unit, I'd have given this place 5 stars, but the second unit probably would have only earned 3 stars, so a combined 4 probably makes sense.

Yelp
I've never felt compelled to write a review. That's how bad this hotel was at this time. I had stayed here once before last year and thought it was a cute enough little place to stay. Things have changed dramatically since then from all that I saw. I got to the room at 1 am and had it reserved for two nights. When I got to the room it was now self check in and there's no property manager on site(which was evident give a number of obvious points of neglect). First off the room was in complete disarray and had not been cleaned or addressed in any way since the last person staying in the room. There were no sheets on the bed and the floors were soooo disgusting and dirty as if someone had been there for weeks without the room being cleaned. There were stains on the walls along with tons of ants, bugs and potentially even bed bugs!!! So gross! I had seen all that I had needed to see and left to find another hotel. Came back the next morning to discuss this situation with the manager and there was still nobody to be found and in the days light I could see the apparent decay of the overall property since even my last stay here last year. Weeds, trash, debris and total lack of basic maintenance. Got a manager on the phone and she seemed unfazed by the circumstance and barely wanted to refund my money and even threatened me that she didn't have to do that given the contract that I signed. Wtf!!! There were no other consolations etc other than she said she give me the room two doors down. I declined and told here I had no interest in stay at that disgusting facility.

Yelp
My fiancé and I did a week long trip through southern Utah. We had lodging planned for everyday but one. We decided to drive around Moab looking for lodging but instead found a recommendation in our Utah guidebook for Kokopelli Lodgings. We gave Kokopelli Lodgings and Katie helped set us up with a room that night. I could rave all day about how nice and accommodating she was to us. Katie gave us some tips on local restaurants we might like. The rooms are colorful and ours came with a fridge and microwave. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Overall I loved staying here and if I come back to Moab it will automatically be where I am staying.

Georgia J.

Yelp
Cute and perfect little mini-house!!! We called and booked the LAST one, and this place was wonderful!! Pet friendly (no pet fee), doggy treats, and an extra sheet to toss on the bed to the pups could snuggle with us! Little efficiency style room with fridge, microwave, kitchen ware, sink, bunk beds, full bath with a snazzy barn style sliding door!! So colorful and fun! Hot tub available, locked fence with gate code, and walking distance to everything in town! Definitely recommend this place

Lexi S.

Yelp
Had a great stay here with our pets! We were traveling cross country and Kokopelli was super accommodating! Not to mention the actual space with was bright, stylish, and had everything we needed for a nights stay.

Danielle P.

Yelp
I wish I could have stayed longer but our road trip didn't allow it. We stayed at the Kokopelli West property. (The adorably colorful studio style units) Cozy and fun. You check in and pick up the key at a different property but it isn't far.

Anthony M.

Yelp
The lodge was a nice place to gather a big group, but I felt missed all the details. Our room had half the lights working and noisy appliances. There was unclear direction on who to talk with to resolve issues. Lastly, the care of the property could use some work. Cleaning up the garbage area and having someone drop by once a day to just do light care of the property would go a long way. I'd still recommend for big groups who want to hang out together, but a few extra steps could take this property from 3 stars to 4/5.

Jeremy E.

Yelp
$100/night for a motel. Only good things about this place are the staff and the location. Tiny room, tiny bathroom, tiny shower, tiny closet, tiny tv, ants. The staff is very friendly and seems like they would be helpful if you needed anything. The location is one block off the main drag of Moab and nearby to a lot of shops and restaurants. Flooring in the room was vinyl over concrete, maybe? And the floor was uneven. I'm glad I'm not overweight, otherwise I'd not be using the bathroom here and I'd barely be able to use the shower. Don't survey the room too quickly, else you'll miss the TV. I'd guess about 24" and that may be generous. Now if we were staying here in 2000, I'd be impressed... at least it was a flat panel. Not sure anything could really be done about the ants but I don't know if they actually do anything about it. Professional spray? Traps? Likely not. Someone in a review said the staff would come to your room with a can of Raid or something. Maybe if you visit during offseason, at $60/night, it might be worth it... "might." If you've got the cash, stay elsewhere for the extra $50-100. If you do decide to book a room, make sure you read the cancellation policy. It's an interesting read.

Justin S.

Yelp
This place was really awesome. I took a chance on it after reading some of the other reviews here. It may not look like much on the outside, but the staff is really very nice and helpful and the rooms are nicer on the inside than you might expect. This place was much cheaper than a lot of the other lodging options in town, which was our main motivation for staying here. I think the value for the price is great! It's very clean and cute and I would recommend it to any budget-conscious travelers going through Moab. It's also easily within walking distance of the entire downtown area. We were able to walk around the block and found a place to eat dinner at just a 5-minute walk away. If I ever find myself in Moab again, I will definitely stay at Kokopelli Lodgings!

X M.

Yelp
Stayed at the Kokopelli Lodge; and they replaced all the locks on the door one afternoon with new technology pin code locks. Loved the pin, instead of carrying keys. However, no notice was given. The guests next to us had the same issue. Thankfully nothing was stolen; my wife's wedding ring was on the countertop along with her under clothes hanging in the tiny closet. She was horrified that a stranger walked in to change the locks without advanced notification. Poor Customer Service. We have had much better experiences staying at the Kokopelli Suites.

Andy B.

Yelp
For close to 8 years we have enjoyed staying at the Kokopelli. Sadly no more, new owners and already we were kicked to the curb. Our jeep club has rented both the cabins and the lodge. We found out that the owner sold the place and it's now being run by Vacasa. This company is horrible. Dont trust me, just do a little research on Yelp, and you will find it's TRUE. Our club had an existing reservation for 2020. The new owners had said all would be good. What happend? Well, we went to confirm reservations for next year in the cabins, only to find they booked the 1st 3 nights of our stay to someone else. Then they cornered our club secretary into making sure she secures the older lodge, but had to do it that night and they needed a non-refundable 20% deposit from her on the spot. Plus they told us when each person booked they would need 50% down and had to pay balance in 60 days. Well myself and my wife fixed it. We called the next day to another establishment in town. We booked ten rooms and cancelled with Vacasa. Last year there were 25 of us in Moab. Please make sure you look around before you deal with these people.

Yelp
This review is about Kokopelli WEST. the picture in the yelp listing is for K. WEST, even though the address is for a different hotel, Kokopelli EAST. K. WEST is a great place, I would definitely stay here again. We stayed here in February, the off season. Very nice room, each is a separate small building, and the rate was great. Enjoyed the hot tub too. The rooms were clean, neat and well equipped to do minor cooking. Only have minor gripes: The reservation system is confusing and disorganized. When you call for a reservation they book for a number of places in Moab. After staying 3 days at WEST, we wanted to extend our stay a day and they set us up in a different place without saying so. The company has a number of listings with Kokopelli in the name, the one that was nice is Kokopelli West. On the last night they switched us to Kokopelli East, I do not recommend this place. even though it was the same price as K. West. It's an old cheap motor court that they did some cosmetic upgrades to, but its still a tiny creepy room, dimly light, with a very noisy heater.

Dennis E.

Yelp
We nice up beat place to stay. Very quiet and we lived the seperate little buildings. Walking distance to almost everything in Moab.

Cindy O.

Yelp
We stayed in their new 100 West property and really enjoyed it! It's a little off the main drag so quieter than some places. We also like that we had our own little "cabin." Cute decor inside and out. Very clean too. They did lack a couple of amenities, like real sugar for the coffee, shampoo/conditioner, paper towels, and a blow dryer that actually blew warm air. We would recommend it and would stay there again.

Mary M.

Yelp
Ok...so here's the thing. I wasn't expecting the Ritz-Carlton, but I was expecting a full DOOR to the BATHROOM and a functioning shower. It's clean and friendly, the room had a fridge (that smelled like rotten food, granted) and a microwave, which is awesome, and it's so close to the main drag with shops and restaurants, but based on the bathroom situation, I would never come here again. The "door" to the bathroom is a hanging, sliding piece of wood with a hole in it where the knob should be, allowing anyone else in the room free sounds and visuals on bathroom goings on. Maybe that's fine for others, but my friend and I had to take turns sitting OUTSIDE THE ROOM while we went to the bathroom, every time. Secondly, either the shower head was broken, or someone was playing a sick joke because not only was the water not hot, but it came out in a painful, missile launch attack stream that aroused screams from both of us when we tried to use it. Furthermore, no matter what we did, the "shower" filled the "bathroom" with water-all over the floor. Also on the website it says there's a hot tub. Well, there was an empty hot tub sitting behind the office, so I suppose they weren't lying, but I'm not sure what good it does anyone with no water in it, unless it's intended to be some sort of strange play pen or animal holder. I really, really wanted to like this place. It was one that I was most excited about on our trip. But there are some major kinks that need to be fixed before I can give it a good rating, bc as it stands, I wouldn't send anyone else, friend or foe, here.

Tracey R.

Yelp
How am I the first person to write a review for this adorable charming hotel? Kokopelli Lodge is a dog friendly hotel located in the heart of downtown Moab. It's walking distance to everything! The hotel is small, 10 rooms total, which makes it a very personal stay. The owner, Katie, and one of the employees, Bob, were probably the most friendly people I have met in a long time. They made us feel very welcome. There is a jacuzzi in the back of the property, and a wonderful side yard area for the dogs to run around. It's completely fenced in, and they have tables and chairs for relaxing. They also have extra storage for those coming into to town with their Mountain Bikes. The room itself was tiny, but for two people and a small dog it was perfect. It was quaint, adorable, and extremely comfortable. At night it was very quiet, we never heard our neighbors once. I am already planning a trip back with my husband.

Yelp
Stayed at the Suites for 2 nights during the offseason. The place was HUGE - basically a 1 bedroom apartment. Nice full size living room with cable and a flat panel TV. Full size kitchen with Range, sink, microwave, full size fridge and freezer. Kitchen was also fully stocked with utensils, pots, pans, dishes, etc. the bedroom had 1 King bed and a ton of extra space for luggage and the like. The bedroom also had a small space heater which we used to help keep the bedroom toasty and warm. The bathroom was on the smallish side but still much better than a hotel. The only complaint was that the water for the shower only got to a moderate temperature. It wasn't cold, but it certainly wasn't all that hot either. Really a pretty small thing when compared to the suite as a whole. Off the back of the suite there is a Hot Tub as well as a gas grill. We didn't use the gas grill but someone from another suite did and they said it worked great. The hot tub was a nice added touch. The entire lodge is located in a quiet residential setting about 3/4 of a mile off the main drag of Moab. A very nice quiet setting which is exactly what I want when vacationing in Moab. The overall rating for the suites would be a 4.75 - simply taking .25 away due to the water temperature in the shower. Now as I stated above, I stayed here during the offseason. The owners of the place were nearly impossible to get ahold of. On the website where we booked the room, it asks what time you expect to arrive. I had answered 7:30pm. At around 6:00pm as I was still driving in from Colorado my phone rang and it was the owners of the suites. They explained that since it was the offseason they didn't keep regular hours and wondered if I was still planning on staying with them. I said of course, but I won't be there until 7:30pm (actually arrived at 7:37pm) The lady was very nice and said they weren't going to wait so they would just go and unlock our suite and leave the key inside for us. Cool, very easy solution. She also said that the following day we would need to stop by the main office so they would have a card on file for incidentals - again, seemed like a good solution. The following morning we awoke and called to try and set up a time to get a card on file. Nobody answered. Called the 2nd number. Nobody answered. Sent a text message to the number from the night before. Never got a response. We headed out into the trails for the day and never heard anything from anyone. Around 5:30pm we again called the office to try and get the card on file. Nobody answered. We left a message and never heard back from anyone. The following morning we were due to checkout and still had no card on file. We called, texted, emailed, etc. nobody responded. We were hoping to stay 1 more night even if we had to move to a different property. None of our messages were returned until just before noon. The return call went unanswered as we were in a canyon where there was no cell reception. The message left said they had rooms available for one more night and they would be in the office after 3pm. We got back into town at 3:30pm and called the office. Once again, nobody answered. We left a message and went about the rest of our afternoon plans. Nobody had returned our call by 7:00pm so we found a different place to stay for the night. It was really frustrating because we absolutely loved the Kokopelli suites. I would certainly think that things must be different during the main season, otherwise it is hard to imagine this place could stay open. I am going to rate this 4 stars because the accommodations were so good - they deserve 5 stars. However, the service and availability of the owners is hard to rate anything other than a 1 star. Again, I can't stress enough how awesome the actual accommodations are, just be prepared that during the offseason, you are basically on your own.

Yelp
If you're looking for an awesome, eco-friendly, budget travel option while in Moab, stay here! I had a room that was in back of the office and it ended up being bigger than the rooms pictured on the website. It was like having an efficiency apartment furnished with chairs, a small separate kitchen area and a porch, which was a nice surprise! The staff (and their dogs) were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bathroom had been recently updated. I loved that the motel is dedicated to being eco-friendly by providing reusable coffee filters and 5 different kinds of recycle bins.

Yelp
Guidebooks all seem to recommend this place, but without quite understanding it. Kokopelli is actually three different sites in Moab, plus some condos for short-term rental. For details, see the helpful earlier review here by "LE S." On the rest of this page, you're actually reading a mix of reviews for all these sites. Kokopelli WEST (where we stayed) is a set of newly built, freestanding cabins. We'd stay there again in a minute. Ours was spacious, appealingly decorated in desert pastels, and furnished with a fridge, microwave, large-screen TV, and...filterless "ecological" coffeemaker that made bad coffee. Separated cabins means QUIET, and the hot tub, outdoor gas grill, and dinner tables were splendid extras. The whole operation is lovably eco-friendly, dog-friendly, and just plain friendly. Without being flaky. (Except for those coffee makers. Luckily, Moab has lots of good coffeehouses within walking distance.) Kokopelli EAST is a remodeled 1960s motor court, where the owners have deliberately kept and restored its original, period-correct "Atomic Motel" sign. (Eco-friendly Moab was once, ironically, a uranium mining town.) The rooms looked really nicely redecorated in 21st-century desert styling, when we swung by and looked through open doors. But where reviews here mention small rooms, they probably mean Kokopelli EAST. Kokopelli "TOWERS" is a newly built, one-story (ironically) property located a couple blocks equidistant from the other two sites. We saw it only from the road. It looked new and trim, but with adjoining rooms like a motel's. All three sites have the same friendly, accommodating management.

Yelp
Awesome, throwback, clean, and dog-friendly as it gets. Fall is road trip season for me, and the dog always adds a bit of hustle to the room search. This place hits a home run. Right by downtown, but not loud; clean rooms, but nowhere even close to snobby. Room is perfect for a single/couple traveler, has coffee maker (clutch) and fridge/micro. Bonus: fantastically cute girl working at check-in. Rooms have a slightly Ikea/sorority girl deco theme (lots of turquoise and purple paint and linens) but honestly, who cares? If you're looking for perfect blend of throwback/clean/dog/right downtown in a kicka$& small town, this is it! *no hot desk girls were hit on during this stay; respectful admiration only. * **however, feel free to come find me at the bar**

Yelp
The place is the BEST. I've recommended it to all my friends and family since we've stayed in July 2017. Innovative, individual urban cabins. Impeccably maintained property. Great location. I will stay here every time we are in town.

Yelp
This was by far one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. When we booked this room they were having issues with their website. I had to book it over the phone. I told the woman on the phone I had two dogs with me and wanted to ensure there was indeed an attached yard. I was told yes, all units have an attached yard. So I booked. Come to find out that was a lie/mistake, whatever you want to call it. When I booked I also asked if the rooms were fairly quiet because we will be hiking and leaving the dogs there for a while and was worried about them barking. She said the rooms are very quiet and it's no problem to leave the pups there. I reiterated this several times before hanging up. When we arrived I called the number that was left on the door for us, because no one was there to check us in at 5:40 pm. There was no attached yard as the lady on the phone promised. I called into their helpline and got a lady who basically said it is what it is and there's no helping you. A few hours later (after I discovered you can hear everyone's everything) I called back into the helpline to see if we could be moved to possibly a different room, etc. I was slightly concerned our dogs might bark at some noise the following day when we were gone and wanted to make sure we were okay. I got an extremely rude man who not only offered no assistance or tried to relocate us, but hung up on us multiple times. As soon as I started speaking he continually interrupted me with "what do you want me to do? What do you want me to do?" He offered no assistance whatsoever and then tells me that even though this is a pet friendly hotel you aren't allowed to leave the dogs unattended and I needed to take them to a doggy daycare of some sort. He said this was stated in our contract, which was in fact a lie (he later admitted this). I read through the entire contract and nowhere does it say this. He refused to give us his name when asked (so we could report him for being rude the next day). At that point we did get aggressive and he got cussed after hanging up on us and refusing to tell us his name. The next day we did speak with another lady who was manning the front office and knew of the individual I was speaking of and said she'd handle it. She also advised they are very pet friendly and dogs bark sometimes and it's okay. That's all I needed to hear from the individual on the phone when I called the night before. I was looking for some assurance that they were cool with our dogs being there. In the future we would never stay here again after dealing with such incompetent staff. I know it's cheap but that's no reason to be rude to someone who was booked incorrectly and trying to make the best of it.

Yelp
I was in charge to book all our hotels for a two week road trip... I tried to do our accommodations on the cheap and after checking the chain hotel rates in town, I started searching for alternatives and ended up booking a suite at the Kokopelli Lodge. The suite we had (I don't know if there are differences) had two bedrooms and two bathrooms (one off the living area and one on-suite), a kitchen, living area and a backyard! One of the bathrooms is really small, but it works. There is a small TV and a free wireless signal. Still, there are a couple of negatives: Wireless is weak to not detectable and the air was not really able to cool down the house (we were in unit #1), especially not the back bedroom!

Yelp
Super dog friendly! Our two Siberian Huskies received a lot of love from the staff and owner. Room and bathroom are small, but very clean. Microwave, coffee maker, and mini-fridge were nice amenities. Staff was friendly, and the owner walked our dogs while we were on all day outing! If dog friendly is important to you, you can't do better than Kokopelli Lodge.

Yelp
Retro-Awesome! Fresh, clean, & so cute. We loved our little, free standing cabin. Grill your dinner then Hot tub under the stars. This is the most modern & boutique type resort in Moab. Love it!!!

Yelp
We stayed at one of the Kokopelli InTowner apartments for a couple of days recently. The folks in the office are lovely and friendly, and overall, our accommodation was lovely as well. It was a one-bedroom apartment with a comfy king bed and two singles in the large bedroom. The place is cheerful and very (very!) colorful--plum and orange and blue and lime green. Quite festive. The kitchen had the bare minimum by way of cooking equipment, which is not surprising--anything more would be stolen, surely--but it was adequate for cooking a couple of dinners. One of the condo rules is to wash and put away all your dishes. The problem with that is that previous guests were less than fastidious about washing, and so we had to re-wash everything before using. The shower mat had been left in the bathtub by the previous guest (hello, housekeeping?), and it clearly needed sanitizing. There was an overflowing garbage can just inside the gate from the sidewalk to the four condos that we had to walk by coming in and going out, and that was unpleasant. Minor, but I think that the placement of that could be handled better. In addition, the hot tub was out of order during our stay. We may or may not have used it, but it would have been nice to have the option. It took us a while to find where the recycling bin was, and--not the fault of the property--evidently Moab does not accept kitchen waste for composting. What a shame. Back to the positives: the outside area is pretty and pleasant, as is the surrounding neighborhood. There are lawn chairs outside on the grass--homey and comfy. Cooling is provided by a swamp...er, evaporative...cooler, which is a great choice. It cooled the place down quickly. Be sure to follow the instructions on the sheet provided. The fridge was large, clean, and worked well, and the stove was very efficient. It was quiet at night, which was something we were a bit worried about, given the large number of partying young folks in the vicinity. Another nice perk: our room key included a plastic id with a number that gets you a substantial discount at the local supermarket. Very thoughtful, Kokopelli guys! Would we stay here again? Yes, we would. We do have a few quibbles, but overall, our experience was a very positive one, and having a comfy, commodious home base to return to rather than a motel room was a huge advantage.

Yelp
You get what you pay for is the definition of your stay here. There is no quiet little buildings and no space for the dogs like they claim. It is a very small room with a ridiculous bathroom that is designed to deny privacy. The website was down for days so we booked it over the phone so we were going into this with little detail. You get what you pay for so I will add a star there as the room was cheap. It is pet friendly but barely. Be aware when you book you could wind up in a very small room with little privacy and no where for your dogs to go.

Yelp
We were extremely disappointed. 3 things where out of line at the Kokopelli Lodge & they had no desire to help us so we left. 1. On an extremely hot day the air conditioner was not working properly 2. Ants were all over the place (front desk attendant admitted she knew they had been having issues with ants) 3. No internet Lack of the internet was no big deal but on a day hitting over 105 outside a working air conditioner is a must & ants crawling on us is definitely not something acceptable. We left & stayed at Motel 6. Kokopelli's refused to refund us for that night stating they could not re-rent the room. Well of course they couldn't the room was not habitable with these issues. We ended up paying for a room that we could not stay in & Kokopelli's to date have not refunded us. A straight up rip off & poor customer service.

Yelp
We stayed a 100 West. What a cozy, clean little cottage. Ample common space. Nice to have gas grill available. Great kitchenette. Self contained and bright space. Loved the atmosphere. Priced right. Very friendly staff. Walk to Main Street and big city park. The only thing that could make this better, is the industry, space to the west, takes a bit of the quaintness away. Can't wait to recommend and come back.

Yelp
100 West bungalows- one of the best lodging we had during our entire roadtrip through the 4 corners region. Private, clean, new, relaxed, good amenities, plenty of space, etc, etc. Steakhouse next door is good, but pricey- the upstairs bar is excellent with real draft beer (this is Utah, folks). No full kitchen in the unit, but a grill works in a pinch. Finally, the price is more than reasonable! Good for a several parties if you need to do a group thing, or fine if you are a couple with/without kids.

Yelp
oh it is so cozy and affordable! The room had a note and candy waiting for us. It is little but well maintained and clean with little lovely, cheery decorating details (colorful towels, shower curtains, mugs, blankets). I stayed here last weekend. It was pretty chilly but we were all huddled in room number 1 and it was perfect. Very friendly, close to the town, very affordable.. I would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
Just loved this place. It was perfect for what I was looking for. Located close to restaurants, shopping, laundry , markets and gas not to mention the obvious hiking all around here. The room was decorated in festive purple & green colors, had a complete kitchen, backyard, bbq and hot tub. Was very comfortable and large.

Yelp
I thank Yelp for alerting me to this adorable hidden gem in Moab. Yeah, the inside of our room was decorated like a teenage girl's bedroom (minus the Justin Bieber posters) and the bathroom is super tiny. But hey, the staff was super nice, the bed was comfy, they give you full size towels (!), and the price is right. Two things: they give you liquid soap instead of a bar in the shower, so prepared to take extra time to rinse that off, and check out is at 10am, not the usual 11am. I'll be staying here next time I'm in Moab.

Yelp
The place was adorable on the inside. Kitchen was spacious with all the dishes and cookware stocked. The bedroom was warm in summer citrus colors and my bed was comfortable. However, the carpet felt crusty in places so I kept my house shoes on. The wireless Internet went in and out so we couldn't keep my 4 year old happy with Netflix. My final disappointment was the individual yards. The landscaping was terrible near the condos, no pretty foliage or flowers. There was more to look at in front of other businesses next door.

Yelp
Great place, great service, great price! Organic coffee is standard and the people are REALLY nice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - made our own breakfast each morning and relaxed. Only downside is the mattresses were a little too soft...

Yelp
This place is so cute. They make you feel right at home, as if you were staying in a spare guest room. The rooms were very clean and we had a comfortable stay. Great place to stay with awesome rates.

Yelp
Kokopelli Lodge is such a warm, comfortable, affordable, adorable place to stay! It is in a great location, very close to Main Street while still tucked away enough to provide a quiet atmosphere. The rooms are very bright and cheerful and the bed was so comfortable! It is a short drive away from Arches National Park and a walk away from the shops and restaurants in town. I loved that the rooms keys came with a rewards card for the nearby grocery store which was a very thoughtful touch. I could go on and on about how great this place was, but you should find out for yourself!!

Yelp
Hannah at the front desk was friendly and very helpful. Room was very clean, neat, and stylish. Perfect location for a trip into Moab. Plenty of parking for our trailer, movies and books to borrow or keep. Great price, close to the main thoroughfare and grocery stores within walking distance, free internet, microwave, fridge, television, recycling facility, storage for bikes, jacuzzi. All you can ask for for the price

Yelp
Our Jeep club booked this hotel for our yearly trip to Moab. It was very reasonably priced and my expectations were not high. I figured it's just a place to sleep. As it turns out, our room was nicely decorated and felt very homey. It felt more like a guest room than a hotel. We had room 1 and unlike some of the reviews, the bathroom had a full door and the shower worked fine and was clean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I've stayed at other way more expensive hotels in Moab, and none have been as relaxing as this one. I plan to stay here again.

Yelp
Great location near Main St & next to the city park on 100 West. Each unit has a kitchenette & has everything you might need. Clean, comfy, & well planned out. Seems like these 10 units are set up in a way that you meet & hang out with your neighbors. Love it. Hot tub. BBQ. Dog run. Bike wash. Great alternative to a hotel ... with a local flavor.

Yelp
Love this cute little hotel. Great location, great color scheme and friendly service. Perfect find!

Yelp
We were looking for something that was dog friendly and reasonably priced, and fell upon this little place. They had individual buildings, which were really nice. There was a little alcove area with a bunkbed for kids. The place was nice and tidy. In the center of the little cabins there was a courtyard area with BBQ pit and hot tub (they call it a spa). You don't have to really check in, but rather, they give you a code for when you check-in. It really is an adorable place, decked out in IKEAs best. I love IKEA, so I adored it. There were a few down points. They give you a sheet toward a credit to your next stay if you do some of the work. I did it, but because I felt guilty, not really for the credit. The dog run has no lights at night, and the bags that were there wore torn, so you couldn't use them. I brought my own bags, but obviously others did not since there was poop remaining. I would definitely return if I go back to Moab.
