Kokopelli's Cave

My husband and I stayed 2 nights for our 15th wedding anniversary. We enjoyed the experience from start to finish! Everything was perfect, clean, and well-stocked. They provide snacks, breakfast items, and even fresh fruit! Decor is super cool and authentic, so much to look at in every corner. The waterfall jacuzzi tub is the most relaxing soak I've had in a long time. The bed was super comfortable, and the cave is nice and quiet. I slept really well. Even though it got chilly outside during our stay, we were never cold inside. The temperature stays consistent in the cave. The view in every direction is breathtaking; we couldn't believe this place is less than 15 minutes from our house! The trek down from the top is definitely a little tricky, but if you like hiking, you'll be just fine. The host/staff were friendly and explained how to use everything, they even left rose petals on the bed! I honestly could go on and on about how awesome this gem of a place is!!!! I don't have a single complaint; it's no wonder people from all over the world stay here. It stays pretty booked from what I can tell. This was a phenomenal weekend! We're already planning a trip back next year.

Who wouldn't jump at the chance to sleep in a cave? This experience is a 10/10! The communication with the Kokopelli staff was excellent from booking until departure. ||Following directions, we met the manager at a common location and followed them up the hill to the cave entrance. The road is NOT paved but our rental car did fine, just had to go slow. The path down to the actual cave entrance is a bit steep and your stairs are rocks- very safe but if you have mobility concerns it could be a problem. We are in our mid sixties and had no problem. As the valley opened up in front of us, we kept thinking it couldn't get any better- but it did. The cave is well appointed with every comfort thought out. We brought in supplies for making dinner, and found a well appointed kitchen with spices, oils, condiments, in addition to the breakfast supplies which included eggs, oatmeal, cereals, juice, coffee, teas- Since we were celebrating my husband's birthday the Kokopelli team left him a birthday pie, wine and a card- Everything you could want for a special birthday.||We spent most of our time sitting on the upper patio watching the hummingbirds and enjoying the view. As to sleeping - the bed is super comfortable and the cave temperature was perfect for a great night's sleep. Our only regret was we stayed just one night.

Sleeping in a cave? Wifi and 2 person hot tub in the bathroom? Yes, please. Best exotic date location I have ever had and only a couple miles from Farmington. I recommend a 4x4 to access. Also requires hiking down the sandstone cliffs, so not handicapped accessible. However, enough room to sleep 6 on the bed and futons. Kitchen, washer and dryer equipped. (Not sure how they got the appliances in there). Chipmunks and hummingbirds come up to the patios and amazing views.

We slept in a cave!!! What an incredible experience. Make sure to listen to the meeting instructions because Google maps does not know the way there. You’ll meet the host and she’ll drive you to the garage where you park your car. The road is rough but our SUV did great. Then you grab your things and walk down to the cave which is about a 2-5 minute walk but you don’t want to carry a suitcase as it would be impossible to drag it and you’d have to lift it over the rocks. Bring a backpack like they suggest. The view is amazing! They have an upper deck area and 2 porches. There was a random snow storm when we arrived but 10 minutes later it was sunny and we got to watch the sunset from the deck area. The cave is 1700sf so quite large. Stocked with almost anything you can think of. They have put a lot of thought into making it feel like a home. It is cool inside the cave so I was glad to have my thermals so I recommend bring warm and cozy clothes. There’s rocks everywhere that people decorate and hide around the cave and supplies to make your own. If you find the Vancouver, Canada rock, that’s me! It includes a continental breakfast which had more variety than most places I’ve seen plus all your basic cooking needs and things. We got to see chipmunks feeding right outside the door which was pretty cool. The whole experience was super unique and fascinating. We only stayed one night but I would have been happy to stay more. I highly recommend this cave!

This is an absolute must for your bucket list. We had a magical time here. The cave is really cool and quiet with a lovely view but the best part is all the rocks and art left behind by previous guests and reading the guest book. There's even a scavenger hunt a guest created. At night the stars were incredible and we heard an owl and saw a bat. It was fun watching the chipmunks and squirrels eating during the day too. The hot tub took hours to fill but was very pleasant. The amenities include everything you could need for a comfortable stay. What a fun and special place created by special people. I don't recommend this if you have really bad knees though as it's quite a steep hike down to the cave entrance. We went without kids but it would be a great place for kids too.

Such a unique and cool experience! The cave is actually pretty luxurious and the bathroom with the rock waterfall type shower was great. The porch area to sit out on was the best with amazing views! A little scary drop off though so be careful! I’m glad they didn’t ruin it though with barriers and impede the view. I was skeptical of 2 things going in— feeling claustrophobic and dark in the cave and how strenuous the hike in would be with a young child (10 years old). The cave is actually open to the side of the cliff so it was not dark or claustrophobic. It has 2 outdoor spaces and feels very light and airy. The hike in was really easy. Maybe not great for elderly, very young children or those with major health conditions. But it was really easy for the majority of people I would say. We loved our stay! Only had one weird issue with a drone actually being flown up to the cave and watching us as we sat in the small balcony of the bedroom. It was uncomfortable for sure and at first we thought it was a UFO coming towards us ha ha because of the hovering light!

We had an awesome stay at the cave. The owner Bruce was very accommodating with our check in and had our cupboard stocked with all your basic necessities. It’s a private and secluded getaway but it also has a modern twist with Internet access, running water, washer and dryer, and a waterfall shower. Our family of five enjoyed ourselves and it gave us a chance to spend time together. There’s so many personal touches! What a unique experience.

Our stay was a one of a kind, amazing experience. The cave has remarkable architecture. It's the perfect getaway. The vistas are beautiful. We loved watching the chipmunks play. There's a great balcony off the bedroom to enjoy your morning coffee. Thank you Bruce!
