Kökulist bakery

Awesome place. We stopped by around 8:00 am and the place was packed. No place to sit so we enjoyed our order in the car. The clerk who took our order was friendly, patient and helpful. We had coffee and an almond croissant and a raspberry muffin. The coffee was great and you get a free refill which we enjoyed more than the first cup. And the raspberry muffin was spectacular. But the place was so busy we took our order back to the car to enjoy. And that would be my only down side to this fabulous bakery/cafe. Lack of large seating area When we went back for our coffee refill we order an apple muffin and a kliena. The kliena was great as was the apple muffin. You gotta eat here. It’s close to the airport for early morning departures and arrivals.

There’s many options and everything looks great! The employees were very kind too! The taste wasn’t the best in some of the parties we tried, but it might be a cultural difference. We enjoyed our experience!

This is a very popular bakery and justifiably so. Everything we had was delicious! Great place to stop after flying in to Iceland. Maybe 8 minutes from the airport.

Wow, what a delightful discovery in Iceland! Kökulist Bakery is a must-visit for anyone craving freshly baked goodness. We stopped by and tried their sandwich, and oh boy, it was love at first bite! The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and the flavors melded together in perfect harmony. The texture was soft and fluffy, just like a cloud. The staff were friendly and welcoming, too. This bakery is so good! The croissants are absolutely amazing—flaky, buttery, and fresh. The friendly staff adds to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Every visit feels like a treat, and the quality of their pastries never disappoints. They have amazing coffee too. Highly recommend for anyone who loves a delicious croissant and great service!

Stopped here after a red eye flight to kill some time before heading to the Blue Lagoon. We got Americanos, which were very good. We also got pizza bread and a pink doughnut. Delicious and kept us full until lunch. This is a great stop! Parking was easy and free. This seemed like a super popular location and had a constant flow of customers. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

This was our first stop after leaving the airport, before heading out to Reykjavik; our very first meal in Iceland. We all had a great experience, at this cozy place, plenty of delights for every taste. Best way to start our vacation time in Iceland!

A very atmospheric bakery on the main street in Njardvik. Delicious products both in the form of bread and cakes. You can also buy coffee on the premises, but the coffee is of very poor quality (especially mocha - the staff has no idea how to make it). There are also tables inside with couches and chairs where you can sit, eat and drink coffee. When the weather is nice, you can also sit outside, although the parking lot right in front of the garden and the proximity to the main street is not encouraging due to noise and exhaust fumes. Unfortunately, the tables are not cleaned very often and it happened that we had to do it ourselves. Neat bathroom, free parking. The downside is the high prices and unpleasant staff, who even expect tourists to speak Icelandic.
