Komandoo Island Resort & Spa

We took our time to choose where to go in the Maldives, as it was our first time there and we were celebrating a special birthday, so wanted it to be perfect. After doing our research and speaking with friends, Komandoo was our choice and it fully exceeded our expectations. We were greeted by the Manager, Ahmed Naseem and his wonderful team and made so welcome as soon as we stepped onto the island. We were taken to our jacuzzi beach villa, Manta 6, on the sunrise side of the island. Our room was immaculate and spacious and looked straight out over the white sandy beach and turquoise sea beyond, the view was simply breathtaking. |The island itself is stunning, and the staff keep the grounds pristine. It is a small island, making it magical, just what you want from an island in the stunning Maldives. The plants are well established and attracts an array of wildlife, little lizards, geckos, bats and herons! |The food at Komandoo is some of the best we have ever had. There was so much choice and it was all exceptional, compliments to the chefs! We also ate at the Aqua restaurant, a must during your stay, just remember to book it as soon as you arrive as it is very popular. |We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Komandoo and can see why people return, we will one day, it really is exceptional and perfect in every way. A special thank you to Ahmed, you made our stay very special, your team are a credit to you, and we can’t wait to return one day.

This was our 2nd trip although it was tinged with sadness at the recent passing of my Father. |It certainly hasn’t changed much, all the staff were fantastic, thanks to Wahhab in the restaurant, they really do make this a great island to visit and I suppose that’s why there are so many repeat guests.|Just to take your shoes off when you arrive and not have to be bothered to put them on until you fly back home is just wonderful. Different class.|I would like to take this chance to say a very big thank you to Ahmed Naseem ‘Beyya’ for all his help especially in getting rails put up in the open air bathroom after Lynn had a fall going down the stairs. It was really good to see him walking around interacting with the staff and the guests. Beyya, your are a lovely person, please never change.||Thanks to the ProDivers staff. We done the Manta search snorkel trip. It was pretty choppy but it was magical to find and spend time in the water with these beautiful creatures. So graceful, so happy to share time with us humans. If you get a chance, please go and do it.|Also, I went on the snorkelling safari, we visited 2 sites and it was very enjoyable day.||Komandoo is a very relaxing place. A terrific island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Eat, drink, be merry and don’t forget to dance on the disco night in the main bar. ||We met some lovely people whilst there, Marina and Jim, and Alex & Frank in particular. We hope to revisit in 2026 x

We had an absolutely perfect stay here. I honestly can't think of a single negative thing to say. The staff are incredible, the island is beautifully maintained, the food is wonderful, our accommodation was spotless. Wonderful.

Our first trip to The Maldives, we loved this resort and quickly spoke about a return visit. We talked to many other guests, nearly all had visited Komandoo before and many had visited other islands as well but rated this resort number 1 in their opinion. No better recommendation required. We would not undertake the journey from the UK to be disappointed with a different resort. We were welcomed by Rathis who showed us round the island, took our phone number and made sure we were looked after throughout our stay, making sure all of our activities went smoothly. ALL staff were attentive, polite and friendly. All food was fresh, very tasty and plenty of choice. Good snorkeling straight down the steps from our spacious, well appointed clean room. Highlights for us was a snorkeling trip to visit the Nurse sharks and an unforgettable visit to the nearby undersea restaurant. I'm 60 in 3 years and the Mrs has decided to come back with our 3 kids and their partners. Can't wait.|Thank you all.

Just sat at Male airport reflecting on an incredible couple of weeks at Komandoo for our honeymoon. This was both our first visit to the Maldives and after doing a lot of research on where to stay we selected Komandoo (I am so happy we did!) where do I start…|The island itself is stunning. The water colours are spectacular, the beaches and the marine life is incredible. We snorkelled pretty much everyday and we saw many Blacktip reef sharks, moray eels, turtles, sting rays, eagle rays and So many beautiful fish! I’ve visited many places around the world and not seen anything like this. One of many highlights was seeing a pod of spinner dolphins go past the hotel whilst we were having a drink and jumping in the air! |We did a number of trips including the turtle tour seeing massive green turtles and the snorkeling trip which also included seeing nurse sharks. Incredible! |The hotel itself was fantastic, perfect size not too big or too small. The staff were amazing including Leem, Yousuf, Vishan, Samantha and the rest of the team. Such lovely people! |We had a beach villa which had everything we needed and we loved the outdoor bathroom. |We visited the aqua restaurant and 5.8 for lunch both outstanding restaurants. |Lastly we met so many amazing people who contributed in making our Honeymoon so special. Thank you to everyone we met.

I had doubts about the good reviews left. Being so good, I thought the staff had pressured people into writing them when they were sitting next to them, as I have witnessed in other places. |This is not the case. |Firstly we were met by staff with drums and singing in reception on our arrival. Rathish greeted us and made sure everything was right for us, including booking us into the Aqua restaurant, onto the sunset cruise, connecting our phones to Wifi and gave us his number to contact him with any queries. He escorted us to our rooms and explained everything such as what was in the all inclusive package. |What a lovelly place this is and all of the well trained staff make it a great experience |Tips.|The sunset side beach bungalows have a larger beach area. Some of the beach on the sunrise side had eroded, leaving not much sand in front of some bungalows.|The sunset side has a nice breeze, whereas the sunrise side was a little hot during the day, but they have a better view across the reef and beyond.|The reef on the sunset side is better for seeing large shoals of fish and black tip and white tip sharks (all safe). The reef on the sunrise side, with sea grass areas are better for seeing turtles. |You don't need to wear shoes as the floor in the bars and restaurant are fine sand, as are the paths throughout the island. |I went diving a few times with ProDivers on the island. Exceptional staff, equipment and dive sites available.|The food in the buffet restaurant was excellent and there was something for all tastes, with daily theme nights. The food in the ala carte, Aqua restaurant was so good, especially the crab starter and the steak was gorgeous. |The all inclusive plus, had a well stocked mini bar, and also a stocked wine fridge in the room, all replaced daily. |Our Champion cleaner, Aiham, always looked after us and decorated our bed for my birthday.|The Manager always made an effort to talk to us, and all the guests whenever he saw us. What a credit to the island.|All in all, a very nice resort which we will be returning to. |

Amazing and peaceful resort. |Excellent food everyday. |All the staff are incredible and ready to help with any request all the time.|The cleanliness of the resort is incredible. |And of course if you like diving, the resort offers many activities for this purpose. From day to night snorkeling. And scuba diving too.

Just arrived home from our 2nd visit, it was wonderful the staff and I mean all staff are a credit to the resort. From the beginning to the end of our holiday it exceeded expectations. |The snorkeling was magnificent,from all the colourful fish to the tutles,sharks and stingrays.|The room, location,food and ambience was all magical we cannot wait to return.
