Komandoo Island Resort & Spa

We spent two weeks on Komandoo and thoroughly enjoyed our vacation. We chose the hotel primarily because of its excellent house reef, and we were not disappointed. We went on at least two extensive snorkeling trips every day. The reef is beautiful, well-preserved, with plenty of vibrant coral and huge schools of fish. There's so much to discover under easy conditions, with almost no current, and you can take a leisurely look around. A highlight, of course, are the turtles; we saw several of them every day, sometimes right in front of our bungalow in the seagrass meadow. Once, we even saw dolphins from the shore, which occasionally pass by the island. On the dolphin safari, you can see them even closer. The breakwaters are also slowly becoming a reef of their own, and it's well worth snorkeling along them.||Komandoo is a vacation paradise on land, too:||Excellent food, delicious drinks, well-maintained paths lined with beautiful plants, magnificent beaches, relaxing massages, a fantastic bungalow with impeccable housekeeping (thanks, Azmeel!), and extremely friendly service from the Champions everywhere. Guests are truly pampered, and everyone strives to make their stay perfect. Behind all of this lies a lot of diligence and hard work from the Champions and an extremely visible and equally diligent management team. Thank you to everyone!||We also particularly liked the visible efforts toward sustainability: glass bottles, no plastic packaging, and the solar panel system.||What's also very pleasant are the quiet and friendly other guests and the pleasant and not too loud evening entertainment with wonderful singers.||We actually planned to explore other Maldivian islands, but of the three we've been to so far, Komandoo was by far our favorite. We'll definitely be back!

A wonderful vacation of our dreams, which came true from start to finish. A beautiful small island surrounded by corals and clean, clear water. An incredibly beautiful underwater world. The resort is wonderfully run by a director who is always among the guests and goes on boat trips with them to fish. I will never forget it. Absolute interest in the client. I have never experienced this anywhere else. Thank you and we will be happy to come back again.

This was a dream holiday; the perfect retreat from a manic life. The island is more beautiful than the pictures can ever tell. The staff and service are flawless. Particular mention to the wonder staff at the Spa who were kind and thoughtful and true experts at what they do. Do make sure you visit the Aqua restaurant as well, the food is second to none. ||||I would recommend Komandoo Island to anyone as a solo retreat, or a romantic getaway (or anything in between). I can’t wait to go back.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay in the Maldives, as always when we come. The island is spotless, and the lush vegetation is just as beautiful as ever. The food was excellent every day. Every single person on the island goes above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and ensure we have an unforgettable holiday. We will definitely be back soon!

This was our 4th visit to this wonderful island paradise. Booked through Travelbag and included in the price we paid was a free transfer using the domestic flight.|We took the direct flight with BA from Heathrow which got us to Male for approximately 0900hrs. Met by the Komandoo representative we were told to report back at 1030 and taken to the domestic terminal, about a 2 minute walk. The flight was at mid-day and took roughly 20 minutes. After a short wait for our luggage we were escorted to our transport, a speedboat which whisked us off to Komandoo...we were on the island for 1410hrs, island time, and taken straight to lunch.|Our island host, Haazim was our room boy when we stayed last year. After finalising check in details he took us to our room, Turtle05, on the sunset side of the island. We have always stayed on sunrise side so thought we would mix it up a bit this year.|Our room boy this year was Ath-Hur, he was our invisible magician; cleaning our room whilst we were at meals and also providing some of the best towel art we have seen...!|At meal times we were greeted by the ever smiling, ever happy Leem and Dickshana, our waiter was Asim who ensured we kept hydrated and knew our drinks of choice after the first couple of days. He was also one of the waiters at Aqua so we had a different waiter on each evening, except on a Monday.|Food at all meal times was excellent... such a wide choice and so very well presented. Alex, you have a great team that you must be so very proud of. Kumar, thank you for your delicious omelettes, Naren, your naan breads are the best we have EVER had anywhere, Godson and Rajan, the food at Aqua is amazing, such a beautiful menu and presented so beautifully. Riza, Yousef, Wahab and the newly promoted Kaleem along with all the other waiting staff keep the meal time service running so smoothly.|Drinks service by the pool was also excellent, provided by Suraj, Biji and Dipendra, along with a couple others which we didn't note names. A special thank you to Biji who helped us from the sunset bar one afternoon after locking ourselves out!!|Beyaa, the General Manager is an ever present at breakfast and around the island, interacting with guests and staff, ensuring all is well in his paradise 'kingdom'...|During our 12 night stay, yes we did have rain, although all in all was about 30 minutes worth so nothing too much to worry about and it did not spoil our stay at all.|Alas, all things must come to an end.... our boat transport to the domestic airport departed at 0530. Flight from Madivaru was 0550 (Male time) and we also stopped at another island to pick up more passengers. Arrival into Male was 0650hrs and our check in for our flight home opened at 0830hrs.|A massive thank you to ALL island champions for making our stay on Komandoo so amazing.

Outstanding holiday, already booked stay number 4. Everything about the holiday was fabulous. Beyya and all his team are all about making you feel special. They are the special ones, their aim is for you to have the most awesome holiday experiences, they succeed in this every minute of every day. Just superb, from the moment you arrive you're made to feel welcome, nothing is ever too much trouble. Food is fantastic and expect to return home several pounds heavier. This was our 4th visit and now saving for the 5th!

I visited Komandoo Resort for my honeymoon, and it was an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere was serene and romantic, with the kind of natural beauty that takes your breath away. From our villa, the sea view was absolutely mesmerising — we could watch tropical fish swimming below, spotted a couple of small sharks, and most amazingly, my wife even saw a dolphin glide by! The staff were warm, polite, and attentive, always going above and beyond to make our stay perfect. It was the ideal setting to celebrate such a special occasion and gave us memories we’ll treasure forever.
