Arriving by train its a short flat walk from the Bahnhof to the Pension.||Received a friendly welcome from the Frau of the House, who allocated us Room 25. ||There is no lift but the stairs are an easy gradient.||Such a spacious, clean room with plenty of light and very comfortable beds.||Our room overlooked the road but the town is so quiet we had a great nights sleep.||There is free wifi and plenty of hanging space. The heating works well.||The ensuite is a good size and the shower works well with plenty of hot water. There is a drying rack.||Breakfast is served 8-9:30. Great quality and plenty of choice in a spacious room on the ground floor, nicely decorated and fresh flowers on the table. Always a lovely touch.||We used our time here doing some walking on well posted routes. A highlight is the return walk (all up about 7 km) to the village of Helmarshausen. Its route is on the town map, which we got from the lady of the house. Check out the church/castle complex at Ruine Krukenburg along the way.||Fantastic food at the Hessischer Hof Restaurant-see separate review.||We highly recommend staying at the Pension, particularly for those wanting to experience a Traditional Pension in a small town.
