This is a great place to rest, eat delicious food and be treated with utmost respect and positive attitude. The food is delicious and the presentation amazing. The staff speak English and are happy to help and to make you feel welcome. The prices are decent. If you need to charge phones or other devices, they have tables at which there are plugs. The setting is very nice with a lot of red. You cannot buy coke or regular drinks here!! Only traditional stuff which is all delicious. You control the mix of water, milk and coffee when you buy an americano for example. Absolutely lovely atmosphere.

MAY 2023: Interesting interior, visited many times during the past several years. Authentic food 🍲 Good choice of breakfasts. Prices are as in the restaurant. 'Kompot' means a drink from fruits 🍒🍓🍑 to remember childhood. Also, French music is here popular choice 🙇‍♀️, do not know why. The open-air place is good to observe the Olimpiyskiy square nearby. Now the quality, unfortunately, has become worther, downgraded from 5 to 3 ⭐️ Business lunch: kompot did not taste good, so I returned it back as well as soup. Bread was not fresh. In whole, business lunch was not good at all, like second-hand or low-level street cafe, nothing to do with the restaurant (both taste and dishes look). Waiter also did not behave professional, so that I wanted to leave this place that time.

Kompost ist just amazing! For breakfast, for a tasty Borsh or green Borsh (must try), or for a late night snack. Also great desserts. This is absolutely my favorite place in Kiev. The service is also top notch.

The service is good here and they are welcoming to foreigners. It is a place you can come and sit for a while or work remotely. The food is ok. I had the fried polenta... No salt at all. Just something basic that shouldn't happen. My server was great and friendly despite my limited Russian.

I visited this place 2 or 3 times and Unfortunately, food there never impressed me. Service is good and friendly though and that's the only reason why I'm giving it 4 stars. The only thing I tried there and that tasted good was the Kompot drink!

Good food, good service, and good prices. I recommend: soups from Kids menu, toasts with eggs and avocado, salads with pear and blue cheese.
