⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4-Star Review Kona Brewing Hawaii Kai is a beautiful spot with a great mix of good food, quality beer, and some of the best harbor views you’ll find anywhere on O‘ahu. We stopped in for a drink and a quick snack, and it ended up being a really enjoyable visit. The views alone make the trip worthwhile—there’s something special about sipping a cold beer while looking out over the water. We tried a couple of their beers along with the chicken wings, and everything was delicious. The wings in particular were a highlight—crispy, flavorful, and a perfect pairing with a cold Kona brew. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, making it an easy place to sit back and enjoy the island breeze. Service was also excellent. Staff were friendly, attentive, and kept everything running smoothly even during the busier moments. The only downside, and the reason for the 4-star rating, was the merchandise area. I’m a big fan of brewery swag and was looking forward to picking some up, but the whole section was roped off and unavailable for browsing. It was disappointing to leave without grabbing anything, especially when I was ready to buy. Overall, Kona Brewing Hawaii Kai is still a great stop for good beer, tasty food, and unbeatable harbor views. A solid experience with just one small area for improvement. Highly recommended for anyone in the area!

The macadamia crust fish was so delicious. Slightly crunchy, buttery fish, delicious sauce, nicely charred greens, and perfectly cooked rice. 10/10 would recommend. This restaurant was just a pit stop before getting malasadas from Leonard's but turned out to be one of my favorite meals in Honolulu. Great views too.

Visited Kona Brewing Company for a beer tasting using my Go City Oahu pass. One pass included a flight of four small beers, supposedly valued at $15 — maybe! I asked the waitress to surprise me with the selection, which was a fun touch. I ordered the fresh fish sandwich, and my friend got a salad. The fish sandwich was more like a fish burger, but it was tasty either way. Just a heads-up: adding a side will cost you an extra $2 to $4.

How can you have a restaurant that serves $25 hamburgers, with NO FRECH FRIES ON THE MENU? WHO wants white rice with a burger? Oh and the chips the give you? Maybe Lays, but likely an off brand from Aldi's. I got chips and salsa on a Saturday dinner trip, and they were stale! No pride in their food. Beer obviously was good; the food? No bueno. Skip it. Oh and this is owned by a $59.77 billion dollar corporation.

Really enjoyed dining here. The pepperoni appetizer was homemade and delicious, the burger was perfectly cooked and tasty, and everything else we had was also delightful. The vibe was great, we sat on the dock overlooking the boats. And all around great experience. Will be back next time I visit.

Google
Nice place right off the cove, the restaurant is very nicely decorated. There are tables on the porch over looking the water. Service was good, but not outstanding the food was brought quickly for our party of 7 and seated right away on a Friday night. I had the steak which had great presentation, but was overly tough and lacked in the flavor department. The garlic mashed potatoes were good and I substituted the seasonal veggies for white rice ( tried swapping for the Mexican rice but the cooks wouldn't allow it). The milkshake was terrible not really sure what was going on there but was flavorless and mostly ice and inconsistent not ice cream texture. My friend had the burrito to which he said was very good, probably because it had Mexican rice in it.... Most other had burgers of varies types with the overall opinion they were very good. Not an incredibly priced restaurant but be prepared to spend $30+min. Burger with 2 beers $38. Steak with a milkshake and dr pepper $56.

Google
Fantastic location, right on the water! It allows a nice breeze and beautiful views while you crush a refreshing, well crafted local beer. 🍺 The sangria is made fresh, and the food menu has so much to choose from. It seems to get very busy on the weekends, so there was a slight wait on a Sunday when we went, but plenty of bar seating. Great place to grab an early dinner after a day of snorkeling at Hanauma Bay!

The waitress was great, the food and drink were amazing, the view from the waterfront deck was so enjoyable. This is a must and a great place to stop to relax anytime.

Yelp
A beautiful location sitting right at waterside in Hawaii Kai. It was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon at 1:30pm, and there was a line outside the door. It took about 15-20 minutes before we were called to our table, but we got seated in about pretty nice spot, just inside the patio. We could see the water and the boats outside, but still feel the a/c at our seats. The food and service overall were okay; nothing over the top. I has wanted to get the Burger of the Week, but our server said they ran out of the sauce (wth? Can't they make more?), so I settled for the regular Koko Burger. It was okay, but I really wanted to try the Korean style burger. We also ordered the nachos and Caesar salad as apps to share, along with a pizza and a Keiki Quesadilla for the baby. A couple of beers down and the food came just in time to quiet down the baby, who was starving. The food was alright, as was the service. The ambiance was definitely "touristy", and pretty loud, with lots of visitors and families enjoying the great weather and the view.

Yelp
We stopped by Kona Brewing hoping to watch a football game and relax. There were very few tvs available to watch, except for at the bar. Despite that, the view outside was beautiful and very peaceful. While we did not get any food, we got a Mai Tai that was not the best. When comparing to other Mai Tais tried on the island, this one does not compare. Even without comparison, the Mai Tai itself was still not good. From there, we decided to leave as we weren't able to watch any tv and likely werent going to enjoy the food either if we ordered it. I wouldn't recommend checking out Kona Brewing, especially with lots of other options for drinks and other breweries available that one can try and relax at.

Yelp
Normally this is our go to place for a consistently decent food & good beer. We go alone & also love taking out of town guests. Recently our last 2 experiences have been slightly disappointing. The first wasn't a huge deal. Mondays they have a kamaaina discount. Waitress was surprised we asked for it. More concerning was how I was treated on Thursday. We had out of town guests & decided to bring them in for a drink & light snack. It was 3p so not high time. The restaurant had maybe 6 other tables occupied so not busy at all. No one was at the check in desk. Finally a young man came. Seated us on the small square table off to the side in the sun. The waitress came over with water. It was uncomfortable because of the sunlight & wind. I went to the front to ask if we could change tables. No one around. Finally asked one of the line cooks. He directed me to the manager. I asked if we could move as the table was tight & too windy. He asked where we wanted to sit. I indicated one of the larger 4 tops at the back. He tried to discourage me saying it's still windy & he couldn't control the weather. That comment was unnecessary & borderline rude. Left a sour feeling.

Yelp
It's been a couple of years since us "vacation regulars" have been back in Oahu. As always, our first stop from the airport was Kona Brewing. We were absolutely crushed to her that our favorite bartender Mikey no longer worked there. The food and service was still good, and the views, vibes and breeze were on point, but something was missing... Kona Legend Mikey! Bring him baaaack!!! We'll be back in 2026!

Yelp
We fell in love with Kona Brewing years ago and their Kona location is one of our favorite spots. Of course, when we visited O'ahu we had to visit the Kona Brewing here. It definitely has a different vibe, but the same great tasting beer. It's located at the Koko Marina Center amongst other businesses and right on the water. The restaurant is more modern than its Kona counterpart and there's plenty of air conditioning and air flow as it sits right on the water. There's still the Kona Brewing personality with art everywhere and they have a merch store with some fun shirts, growlers, stickers and more. Since it's on the water, they have covered open air seating with beautiful views of the water and nearby scenery. There's plenty of seating, including a very large bar with seating on three sides. The team is friendly here and we had great experiences during both of our visits. The bar does have tvs and it's a full bar so it can get a little louder if something exciting is on. Our favorite thing to order is the pepperoni rolls, but everything on the menu pairs well either the beers. They offer fish, burgers, salads, sandwiches, tacos, and pizza. While the original in Kona will remain our favorite, we'll definitely be back anytime we're on O'ahu.

Yelp
Great place for a beer and some brewery food away from the tourist areas. The service was tops and they make some delicious beers. Fun local place to go and try some beer.

Yelp
Came here after hiking Koko head and this spot was exactly what we needed. We ordered the nachos to share and it was very filling. Also got sat outside with these views so how could you not enjoy.

Yelp
Came across this brewery and saw that it was happy hour. I ordered both the happy hour items which were pua pork tacos and the pepperoni rolls. I had an interesting view on the tacos as they weren't what I was expecting, comparing it to tacos I get in San Diego. The tortillas weren't as I liked due to the texture, but the combination with shredded pork and pineapple made up for it. As for the pepperoni rolls, it was as expected and great bite especially when drinking. I was able to taste (4) drinks they had on draft. I would say that out of those, I would have to get, "Dukes." Dukes had a unique taste that I didn't have drinking in Waikiki. I also couldn't locate Dukes anywhere else. Lastly, service was great and the hospitality was amazing. I would come back here again especially when visiting Koko head.

Yelp
I enjoyed my outdoor dining experience here with my best friend and my partner. I kept it simple with a spicy margarita, and what really drew me in were the Yelp photos of the pizza rolls! It was a light meal in a nice outdoor space, and I also liked browsing the cute merch they had available for purchase. Unfortunately, the nachos my partner ordered were a bit stale, but we didn't complain, we just wanted a relaxed dinner to end another night of exploring Hawai'i like we usually do. One opportunity for improvement would be the outdoor seating. The plastic chairs weren't the most comfortable and felt a bit constricting, especially if you're on the heavier side. Thankfully, the server was super kind and accommodating, and helped move me to a more open and stable seat inside the dining room, which I really appreciated. Aside from that, I really enjoyed the overall ambiance. The restaurant is right by the water, and at night, it's especially pretty with the glow of outdoor lights. And of course, the perfect Hawai'i weather made the whole experience even better.

Yelp
Food was terrible. Gouda and paniolo burgers sucked. No flavor. tastes like eating cardboard. Nacho chips hardly had any toppings on it. The side vegetables were gross and horrible presentation. The keiki chicken tenders were hard. Tables look sticky and gross. They don't serve to French fries to go with your burger, they give potato chips instead lol never coming back. I don't think people that rate 5 starts here don't know what good food is. Just HORRIBLE!!!

Yelp
Our favorite take out pizza in the 'hood was Kona Brewing. BUT a couple weeks ago we ordered a large CAPTAIN pizza, and this is what we got!! Hardly any cheese, almost none! And the large used to fit snugly in the box...NOT anymore, it shrank to a small size!! What's going on KB?? Not my fav spot for pizza anymore. Please do better

Yelp
Love the calming view. Service is friendly and efficient! Love the shrimp tacos!! Last time we had sliders that were tasty. So was the market fish of the day.

Yelp
Went on a Tuesday at around 6:30 pm. It was somewhat busy still since there was trivia, and we had about a 10-15 minute wait which wasn't bad. Was sat down and was able to see the view of the water which was nice. I decided to get the fish tacos. Food came out super fast, probably within 5 minutes it came to our table. Although this was amazing, I felt like it was weird it was ordered and to us so quickly. It makes me speculate things are frozen and easily heated up? I got my fish tacos, which came with a side of mac salad. Although it was plated fine, the taste was just not good... at all. It was completely lacking flavor and seasoning. The fish tasted like literally nothing. I was highly dissatisfied especially since it was pretty pricy. The Mac salad was average but also lacking flavor and needed salt. I had high hopes because I heard decent things about this place. But after trying their food, and other people at the table feeling the same way about their food, I don't think I'd be back.

Yelp
This is a pretty awesome brewing with marina front views in Honolulu. Great please to chill with friends. They have the full side diner which you will need reservations if you are visiting, and also the bar side where you can chill, sip and chill some more :) The service was great, the food was pretty good. Regular bar/pub bites but well made well. Good flavor, perfect seasoning and the drinks made it all better.

Yelp
One of my friends loved this brewing company, so I figure I had to stop by while in Hawaii. I also wanted to simply drown in beer as I just hiked Koko Head Trail (IYKYK). Their flight option is $15 where you can pick 4 different beers, which they give you in 5 ounce glasses each. Instead of serving it to you on a paddle, they have this placemat of all the beers that they brew with descriptions of each underneath. They place the glass on top of the respective beers that you order, which I found unique and cool. They had one porter, which they were sold out of, bummer. So I got their Gold Cliff IPA (hint of pineapple), Hanalei Island IPA (passionfruit, mango, and guava), Koko Brown (toasted coconut), and Kua Bay IPA. Koko Brown was my favorite of the four. We also got an order of the Uncle's Ahi Poke ($24) with rice (+$2), which is one of their best sellers, to snack on. Pretty refreshing and did it's job to fill us up a bit, but not ruin our appetite. Service is pretty good. They have a nice marina view right on the water, which we were not expecting, so make sure to request a seat there if you're into that stuff. Pigeon do invite themselves inside and scavenge. There's a souvenir shop, but overpriced.

Yelp
After another amazing hike on this beautiful island we stopped by for a late lunch. We were still slightly muddy, so we may have received a few stares. It was after two at the place, medium busy but no wait to be seated. At first we were going to sit outside however it was windy and a little on cool side. So we Requested to move inside. Not sure which pizza friend order, it was ono delish, very spicey sauce with small chucks of chicken, black bean, cheese, corn , like a Southwest pizza. We also all ordered black coffee, which included refills. It was pretty decent for a brewery. The the harbor view is pleasant and the restaurants windows are set up to allow dinners to enjoy it. Our server was very efficient taking order, refilling drinks, etc. but on the serious side. We left satisfied and ready for the drive home on the traffic jam called the H1.

Yelp
We loke to go here for the fresh air dining and selection of beers. Their food is also always good. Their tacos, hamburger, the pizza rolls, etc. The staff always pleasant and courteous. It must be nice to be a regular there if you live out in Hawaii Kai, for us it is a treat to drive out there on a stop holoholo around the island, or after a hiking golfing or sailing day. Hawaii Kai can be WIndy so we don't mind facing the marina instead of makai. It's in the shade another plus for out there.
google avatar

Elyssa T.

Yelp
Honestly the best place to end an all day hiking adventure! Last time we had Kona Brewing Company was in Kailua-Kona. Little did we know, there was a location on the east side of Oahu. We're rarely on this side of the island so of course we had to check them out. We had the fish tacos and Paniolo burger both with a side of chips. Service was fast and a bit busy since it was 4th of July. Price and quality of the food was on point. Fish tacos 5/5 Paniolo Burger 4/5
google avatar

Jayson D.

Yelp
Here's what you do: Order a Captain pizza. Add sides of their ranch AND house made barbecue sauce (made with KBC's own Black Sand Porter beer). You're gonna dip your crusts in these. Wash it all down with a pint of Black Sand Porter (so you can taste the beer when it's not part of barbecue sauce). And if you're lucky you do it all while sitting at one of their outdoor tables overlooking Koko Marina. Taste the aloha. Ahhhhhh.
google avatar

Andrea G.

Yelp
Our server was amazing. This is a week later so I cannot remember her name. Food was great. The view though that was the best
google avatar

Yelp
Nick made our time here wonderful. We arrived using the Go City pass which offers a beer flight, and ended up ordering more and getting to know the staff. We came on a Thursday night so it wasn't super busy and so the vibes were chill! Their pork and pineapple pizza hit the spot and would love to come back another time!

Yelp
Happy Hour from 3 to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. Check out the website for offerings. Also special discounts per weekday. New menu. Some may be disappointed about losing some of the old menu but I think there's a good mix of new and old. We tried the new nachos - vegetarian version - and our old standby: Pepperoni rolls. View of the marina is remarkable and the day was awesome. Love the high top tables in the bar.

Yelp
An island favorite, it's been a while I visited the restaurant in Hawaii Kai as the beer is found everywhere (on the mainland). We were in the area during lunch time and it was a great opportunity to visit. It's a restaurant with beer as opposed to a brewery with food - the variety and selection of food is awesome, highlighting and taking advantage of the island's fusion of cultures. To pair the food appropriately, a beer recommendation is made (similar to those restaurants making wine selections). Plus: * Great selection of food + and of course, beer * SWAG - a great selection of Kona Brewing t-shirts are available Minus: * Parking can get a bit challenging at times as it is located in a busy shopping mall * Wind/cold - seating by the water has its disadvantages at times as it could be a bit windy and cold; dress appropriately and you will be fine Located in Koko Marina Center (Shopping Center), Kona Brewing Company's signature restaurant/brewery is a great place to relax, dine, and imbibe on the eastern part of the island. Check it out - a great stop coming back from visiting Hanauma Bay, Sea Life Park, or just driving around the island.

Yelp
Been years since I went there...and was with friends from out of town. Not sure who selected this time for a bday dinner, but a welcome change since it is nice little spot. Open air, so was pretty windy...sometimes not but it is what it is. Workers were awesome...super helpful...super nice but not in an icky way. It was semi-busy...maybe halfsies full. We had a party of 13 + baby. They said oven slow, so pizzas/wings would take a while...so hubs ordered his pizza when we sat and I got a quesadilla and fruit keiki meal for baby. Kohala Pizza - actually came out pretty fast but wasn't cooked all the way. Portuguese sausage is like out of the casing and ground up. Hubs was less thank thrilled about that. I prefer it that way, but didn't taste like portuguese sausage...maybe cuz so little could hardly tell. I haaaate when there is 2 inches of crust around the pizza if crust isn't anything special. This one was not special plus still doughy...little more toppings would be nice. Baby ate her fruits first...not very much of it. 2 orange wedges, pineapple wedge and about 4 grapes. She ripped apart the quesadilla but otherwise was not a huge fan...so she ate from my salad and the pizza. Cobb Salad - Wow, choke stuff. This was pretty good and makes you forget it was a salad. Hubs had some, baby had tomatoes, egg, avo, chicken...I ate some, and took the rest home for next day lunch. Impressive, but it is $20. Nephew had the tri-tip. He pounded the whole thing, except for some mashed that he shared with baby...she loooooved it. Niece pounded her fresh catch. Nice slab of don't know what. One couple shared the Captain...this looked like there was more toppings and less visible crust. Saw some burgers on the other end of the table, but otherwise not sure what was going on. Beer is always good. Food could use some improvement, but otherwise it's a nice place.

Yelp
My friend and I came here for trivia night and had a lot of fun! Their happy hour had some good deals and the hummus appetizer came with some warm seasoned pita and veggies! I ordered the ahi salad (large and delicious) and she ordered the macadamia nut fresh catch which didn't seem like it was worth the price. Overall a fun experience and a good stop!
google avatar

Max F.

Yelp
The food is much better than when it originally opened when I was in elementary school. It was originally Akasaka and Komokata before they relocated to Kapiolani Boulevard and Aina Haina. I highly recommend the hamburgers and sandwiches. The service is a little longer than anticipated, but be patient. Good food takes time. The inside is a stereotypical bar. Noisy and full out drunk and rowdy patrons who are probably gonna beat your ass up if you a man with Sailor Moon tattoos. This is why I only go for lunch. There is live music.

Yelp
Kona Brewery is hands-down our go-to dinner spot every time we visit from the mainland! The food is amazing, the drinks are perfect, and the vibe is always welcoming. Huge shoutout to Kenna and Alex for their outstanding service (multiple times)--they make every visit feel special. Can't wait to come back again and again! Mahalo!

Yelp
Great place to take a break and enjoy the drinks and good food sitting on a deck. Food was pretty good .. the leftover pizzas didn't tasted good the next day but overall decent place to relax and enjoy.

Yelp
Beautiful patio right next to the water, can't beat the views!! Large indoor seating as well. Our server was friendly, food was great and the beer was decent. Overall really good experience. They have souvenirs as well, but pricey even for Hawaii.

Yelp
There were 7 of us celebrating 3 of our friend's birthdays! The view of the marina is so refreshing as our table was facing it! This is my second time here and I don't know why I don't come more often! I ordered the Ono Kind Burger with kettle fries, pickle and aoli sauce on the side in case it was too spicy. I ordered it medium rare and it was cooked perfectly! I ate the whole thing and was satisfied all afternoon! I was even stuffed during dinner! Another ordered the Teriyaki burger and Bacon Bleu burger which they loved! Someone had the huge Cobb Salad loaded with chicken, bacon, egg, tomato, avocado on top of romaine lettuce! One friend had the Seafood Pasta Arrabbiata: shrimp, whitefish, blue mussels with a spicy sauce on linguine. Delicious! Another had the big Carne Asada Burrito: marinated steak, guacamole, Pico de Gallo and Mexican rice with tortilla chips and salsa! It was such a nice birthday lunch with great food, nice view and terrific service! Kimberly was so gracious and patient in letting us do separate checks! Thanks Kimberly!

Yelp
Kona's is one of the spots I visit often and have for years. I went last night and they have completely changed up their pizzas. They used to have the jalapeño popper pizza which I would consider one of the top of all time. They took it off the menu for who knows what reason. And apparently they changed the crust which now resembles a Totinos pizza, gross. I normally would take the rest home and eat it later, but decided to just leave it. They are also always out of beer. How is it possible that a place associated with a brewery is always out?! The only reason I'm not giving it one star is because I love the serving staff. Kane, Koa, and Kenna have always been the best!
google avatar

Jeanette E.

Yelp
Got there at opening at 11:00am on a Saturday. The restaurant quickly started to fill up. As most places, they also seem to be understaffed. Hard to find help these days! Our server was very attentive. The views of the boats harbor or marina were amazing! Such a great place to have a lunch. I ordered the cobb salad with dressing on the side. The salad was so flavorful that I never even touched the dressing. I would definitely order this again! Another thing..... we had a large group and the server offered to split our tabs. Most places these days are either unwilling to split tabs or they say they aren't able to.....

Yelp
Nachos not great.. I remember great Nachos at Ryans.. Compadres.. Etc REAL chedder cheese melted .. sour cream avocado olives and tomatoes!! NOT THESE.. fake white liquid cheese drizzled.. tomatoes and jalapenos... not great!! Margarita tasted WEIRD! Not like one other restaurants make.. that tastes like a REAL MARGARITA! Cant even explain how weird it was!! Not impressed and not making me want to go back! MAYBE best to just drink BEER!

Yelp
This restaurant is very special to my boyfriend and I because we came here on our 2nd date. We love to come back and enjoy our meal while feeling the cool ocean air breeze. We decided to have dinner here on a Saturday night. If you don't want to wait about 20-25 minutes for a table, I highly recommend making reservations. We were seated near the boats and quickly ordered our food. My boyfriend got the Hanalei IPA which he loved! He said he'd definitely order it next time. We shared the Pahoehoe pizza which is one of our favorite pizzas ever! It has a slight kick from the buffalo sauce but there's a creaminess from the ranch. It also makes perfect leftovers for the next day! The staff is always friendly and kind. The atmosphere is so peaceful and laid back. Sharing a meal with your loved one while enjoying the breeze is truly paradise!

Yelp
Bar seating is lively with the sports crowd, but the outdoor seating has beautiful views of the marina. The steak was tender and the garlic mashed potatoes and green beans were tasty. Service was quick and professional. It can get a little loud, but I like the vibe of this place.

Michele F.

Yelp
Food is great, servers are great, location is great! The host staff is rude as can be! No hello to greet you, they are far to busy on their cell phones to care about their customers. No good bye or thank you for coming in to support their employer. Entitled and ignorant kids. While I know they are everywhere, there bc are far too many other great places with quality bar food to go back here again.
google avatar

Yelp
$20 burger and beer on Mondays! Such a steal! The burger was delicious although slightly overcooked. I loved the bok choy side -- only in Hawaii am I right? I enjoyed the views and watching sunset in the Harbor. Beer was also good but I'm not a big beer person so can't comment too much on that. It feels like a busy place so service is a little more impersonal but still decent.
google avatar

Alexandra R.

Yelp
We came by Kona Brewing to kill time between a sightseeing day around the coast of Hawaii Kai and meeting a friend downtown for dinner. The views are beautiful, and there is plenty of open air seating with views out over the inlet. Service was really wonderful, and the beer we tried was delicious! We ordered pepperoni rolls to snack on, and I'm assuming this must be one of the menu favorites because it seemed like almost every table had an order. They were much bigger than expected and stuffed with gooey cheese and zesty pepperoni. Highly recommend! We look forward to returning to check out the rest of the menu. The only downside is that the parking lot is very congested and spots are SMALL. I'm told this is something you can expect on the island, but this was our first experience with this small of a spot since moving here. It's doable, but just be mentally prepared and maybe don't bring a large vehicle.

Yelp
A lovely happy hour at this Kona Brewery, although they get most of their beer stock from the big island. The happy hour pork taco was sublime at $4.25. Highly recommended! The HH house wines could have been better selected, these were California but lame. I switched to a Duke's Golden Ale that reminded me to always choose beer at a brewery, not Wine! The skinny two tops on the outside of the bar present a splendid view of a lovely marina and hillside dwellings of Hawaii Kai. The wait service is good and I'd say this is definitely worth the stop between 3 PM and 6 PM..for beer fans. ($7 pints during HH) also, on Monday, they have burger, a beer and a side for $20. That's a pretty fair price for Shangri-La.!

Yelp
We sat at the bar since it was busy and the service was great! Beer was good with a great selection. We loved the pizza - got the special of the day which had chicken, chipotle, and a hot honey drizzle finish. So tasty! The 10inch was good for two people since there are 6 slices total and they are generous with the toppings. We also ordered the poke nachos which were delicious too! Can't wait to come back to this waterfront spot. Such a fun vibe. They also sell merch which was super cool - shirts, hats, stickers, mugs, etc! We got two shirts and happy to have memories from a unique to Hawaii brewery.

Yelp
Great local spot if you come when the wait isn't over an hour. Lucky for us we were able to seated right away and even came on kamaaina discount day of 15% off! Great for families and lots of open air seating with a great ocean and Mountain View. Ordered the chicken Cesar salad and it was delicious! Good portion size too. Chicken was cooked perfect and the dressing was tasty. Loved that the croutons were not rock hard! We also got Kalua pork tacos. They were soooo good! The amount of meat in those things were very generous. My husband and I split it, he got 2 tacos and I got 1. I did eat more of the salad though. For the kids we got cheese pizza. The use an array of herbs so if your kids like things plain make sure to tell them that. I brought my own tumbler and of 32oz of hula Hefeweizen. It is my absolute favorite and they never bottle it. So sad. Always a reliable and consistent meal!

Yelp
Wow, did this place go downhill. It had been roughly 8 or so years since I last stepped foot inside Kona Brewery, and while the restaurant itself hasn't physically changed, the menu and the service have tanked. Started out putting our names in as we didn't bother making reservations. The host told us it would be a 20-25 minute wait, which is fine. I texted the rest of our party and told them no need to rush as the wait time was nearly half an hour. Lo and behold, literally seconds after sending the text, I get a text from the host stand saying our table is ready. Umm...ok. We get seated near the back (the views of the marina are still great) but the restaurant itself seemed dimmer than I remembered it being, and I remembered it being pretty darn dim. Sat down and immediately noticed that all the wooden surfaces (benches, tables, highchairs) were all very sticky and just nasty. Menu has changed A LOT. Gone is the pepperoni alii'i pizza (literally the only pizza I ever ordered from here) as well as the roasted garlic app and some other key menu items I remembered enjoying before. Ended up getting a paniolo burger (BBQ sauce, onion rings, bacon, cheese), my wife got a bacon blue burger but subbed the bacon for mushrooms. Our sides options were pretty sad as well as they only had chips, rice, Mac salad or "seasonal veggies". When asked what the season veggies were, our waitress simply responded "green beans". The kids menu was even sadder as it was limited to chicken tenders, pepperoni rolls, pasta, or a slice of pizza....same sides. No drink. My kids both opted for a slice of pepperoni pizza. The food was....meh. Nothing great, but also not terrible. Service could have been better as our waitress only checked on us every 20 minutes or so, which was kind of ok because we were meeting up with a friend who had moved away years ago so we go a lot of time to catch up. I didn't bother taking any pictures of the food because, honestly, the presentation was pretty pathetic. My burger was falling over despite being skewered with a wooden dowel to hold it up (it was seemingly stabbed in as the burger was falling over) and the handful of chips was just thrown on the plate. The beer is still cold and fresh and honestly the best part of the experience. Everything else is pretty sub par. Probably wont be back. Definitely don't go if there's no breeze. The ceiling fans in there do nothing to move the air around and it was disgustingly hot and uncomfortable by the end of our visit.

Yelp
Kona Brewing at Hawaii Kai has one of the better happy hours we've seen in the area. Starts at 3 ends at 6:00pm and the pulled pork tacos are huge for happy hour price of $4 each. I'm always happy about their good beer selection and this visit was no different. This is an always go to place when we're here on the island.

Yelp
Sat by the water with a nice breeze. Wait staff was attentive and efficient. Ordered the Ahi Salad and it was very good. The Shishito Pepper app and the Pub Nachos were wiped out because they were delicious! Bar drinks, beer and food were spot on. A great evening.
