The room was great, we really liked it - big enough, clean, rustic vibe. The check-in was very intuitive and easy, the property contacted us several times before checking it. The check out was just as easy. The hotel also has a very cozy lounge, we enjoyed it and used it very often. The village is very nice and connected.

I'm wring this review as an American. There is NO ONE there to help you when you check in or if you have a problem. Everything must be done thru e-mail. There is NO air conditioning, or fans. Our stay was for 10 days at the very end of May, till June 8th. If i was here in the summer, i would have been upset at the lack of air conditioning. We slept with the windows open every night. The pillows, there are only 2 per room, leave a lot to be desired. The rooms are cleaned every other day and if you are there for a long stay, once a week. Having said all of that, which is mostly my husband's opinion, the place has a certain charm. They're is a room downstairs where you can hangout and eat food which is lovely. It is an old building and dine if the rooms on the second floor are really special, although they only have one window and it's small. Again, no AC. the location is good and we had many day trips out from here. The Migros grocery store is near by and breakage there is good and not terribly expensive by Swiss standards. We parked in the garage under the store which was really cheap.

There is no on site staff so, the service is non existent. If you have an issue with your room they say it could take days for them to get back with you. For most people that is the extent of their stay. Their rooms have no AC. My room didn't get below 25.5 C the entire night. They allow you to cancel the entire stay at something like 30 hours before your stay, but if you have something come up, even with +72 hours they won't let you cancel a night after that arbitrary cancelation time. It's very clearly predatory. There is nothing special at all about this hotel, so if you're staying in the area, this should be your last resort. the pillows were very flat, I needed both as just a single person, other hotels you could go to the desk and request more pillows, here, it'll take 2+ days for them to email you back and they probably have a policy against it anyway. There are much nicer hotels in the area for only slightly more. Do yourself a favor and book one of them instead.

Stayed here twice. Very nice, big and clean rooms! Getting in contact was difficult because there’s no one in the building. Had to do it through Booking.com.

Very nice hotel with lots of character, comfy beds, great shower. Free parking directly outside or in a carpark at the rear. This hotel doesn't have a manned reception, it's all automated either my app or an iPad when you arrive. Down in the basement next to check in there is a cafe/seated area(self service) coffee & vending machines. Only negatives (not for me) are - lots of beams in some rooms & there is a church directly opposite (50 mtrs) the very loud bells chime every 15 mins and then every hour.

We stayed here before the Ironman in Thun at the weekend and before an event as such, I would not recommend. In fact, I would try to find any other hotel in the vicinity that has a similar price range. Why? Well, its loud, you can hear both noises from the street, the church bell and the rooms nearby. There is no staff which I don't mind but when you are doing all the work yourself, then the price of the rooms don't add up. The room we had was really quite big (and nice) but then the bathroom was so small and the wood in the bathroom can be quite dangerous so watch out you don't hit your head! When they don't offer breakfast, the least they could have is coffee available to residents - what they had is a coffee machine which you still had to pay for and a fridge with random items of food! Not ideal! It's okay for a one night stay if you have no other options, but not before an event! And not worth the price paid. Thanks but no thanks!
