Kondoi Beach

Shallow and of beautiful color due to the fine white sand. During the low tide there is also a small island that's is a spectacular place for photos. Shame there is no much shadow here but apart from that it's almost ideal with a few snorkeling spots around the low tide island, though we didn't find anything spectacular.

One of the most beautiful beaches you can enjoy in Okinawa, specifically in Taketomi Island! We arrived at 12pm by ferry, immediately managed to be comfortably whisked away in a minivan to a nearby bike rental shop. And paid for a full day bike rental for 2000Y (shop closes at 5pm) and cycled to the pier and the beach. The beach is fantastic, you can wade to the sandbar during low tide and enjoy the afternoon with the waves around you.

Beautiful beach especially at high tide. Warning though : the crows are very aggressive and stole my clothes and sunscreen! Lock your valuables up! Also keep walking to the far side - there is lots of shade under trees around the bend and 200m further.

Visited in mid-June 2025. It’s about a 30-minute walk from the Taketomi Island ferry terminal. The most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen in my life.

If you’re looking for peace, beauty and serenity, this is the beach for you! Gentle shallow waters that is crystal clear with nary a person in sight! Clear views of nearby islands with sparkling hues of blue and green for a far as your eyes can see. Been to many beautiful beaches all over the world and this has got to be one of the best kept secrets. Hats off to the locals for maintaining the natural beauty of this heavenly place.

So pretty when you come during low tide! The sandbanks extend for kilometers and the corals come up above the surface. There are so many fish and birds and is very untouched from nature. The view of the neighboring Iriomote is also very beautiful. Definitely reccomend coming.

Nice beach with clear turquoise water, feral cats and lots of sea cucumbers. It's one of the nicest beaches on the little island and you can walk to the city center in about 25 minutes. Make sure you visit the shops and get the mango ice that was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed my time here and I highly recommend this desolate Oasis.
