A nice little street spot. The food is nothing special. But for the price it's acceptable. Will return, but if you are looking for very good sushi this is not the spot. It's just fine and that's okay.

Highly recommend, great place to come get a quick bite to eat in Copacabana. Good service and price.

KONI is a popular fast food chain in South America, we have eaten in Buenos Aires and here in Copacabana. This location is near Copacabana beach in the busy Rua Constante Ramos. It’s a good place to rest your feet and grab a quick bite after basking in the sunny beach. It’s nearby a lot of other restaurants so your choices are abundant. Food is good and comes in appetizing presentation.

Read the reviews of bad service but decided to go anyway. I've been a Koni fan since 2010 and figured I'd give it a try again. For some reason it seems like this place lost its touch. The sushi was mediocre at best. The service in this location wasn't efficient at all. We only ordered 3 items but still took about 35 minutes to get them and about 45min-1hr to pay the bill after it was all said and done. Maybe they need to ramp up their staff or maybe they need a change of menu. I hope they do both because this place has loads of potential...

Food is okay. Our order came after 1 hour and there’s no one there but me and my wife. Don’t come here if you’re hungry unless willing to wait for hours!!

If you want to feel that you are annoying the staff, be yelled at from the kitchen and be treated like they are doing you a favor, this is the spot. Had to get the menu myself and the waitress rolled her eyes at me and seemed very annoyed to take the order. Waited there for 40 minutes and when I asked if it would take too long all they did was ask me again (yell from the kitchen) what was my order and then make it... had to wait 15 more minutes. It is a shame that the service is so poor cause the food is actually tasty and the location is very convenient. Really hope that this is not the experience for anyone else.

More than 45 minutes to make the meal. Even without many people in the restaurant Ridículos .

Good locate, but over price, the salmon come with spines so for tourists is better go somewhere else if you’re planing spend around 200 reales on food.

Yelp
I think my standards might be a little different coming from the States but this is terrible sushi if you're looking for anything outside of drunk food :( I didn't get sick or anything, but it wasn't fresh and everything is covered in cream cheese. Literally, ever menu item included cream cheese . They are big in the sushi cibes, but I found it impossible to bite through the seaweed itself, it was either bad quality or old. On the good side their outdoor seating area is very nice, but I won't be returning.

Yelp
As a New York sushi whore I was pleasantly surprised by Koni. Don't get me wrong, it's nothing remarkable and they ONLY serve salmon (no tuna?!), but the cone concept is awesome. Get the standard cone with rice and salmon. It's delicious. Overall, Koni is a solid spot for a cheap and delicious meal just be weary this particular spot is tiny and often overcrowded.
