If you like Scotch you should visit Königsquelle, no matter where you are from and how much (or little) experience you have with whisky.
I went here several times during a recent stay in Munich. I only ate once. While I did enjoy the food, what kept me coming back was the Scotch.
The best way to drink here is to sit at the bar and ask the bartender about their selection. It is very large, includes very high-quality and rare Scotches as well as more common malts, and the bartender knows them. He is knowledgable and enthusiastic, and is happy to take preferences and price points into account when recommending options. The more you know the more he'll be able to tell you, but I also saw him work well with beginners. (I only came when the main bartender was there, so I can't comment on the midweek person.)
They also have some interesting liqueurs you can ask about. The bourbon selection is okay, and the rye selection is minimal. They also make cocktails, have wine and beer on tap.
In the summer there are tables out front. Inside is smaller and is cozy rather than airy. There is a TV, but when I was there it was always muted.
