"No matter the time of year you visit, Lake Königssee always inspires awe. Summer means shimmering water in shades of emerald and sage green, while winter brings a cold, misty atmosphere with otherworldly light. Take a boat ride along the pristine fjord, past rugged cliffs and the Baroque-style St. Bartholomew’s Church. When your guide plays his trumpet, listen for the magical echo from the mountains."

This lake which is around 2 hours from Munich is beautiful and worth to pay visit during the summers. The water here is very clear and provides a clear reflection which makes this place even more picturesque between the magnificent mountains surrounding the National Park. Through boat ride only you can travel inside the lake and explore various sceneic routes, it costs only 22 Euros to and fro.

No doubt one of the highlights of our trip to Bavaria, a boat ride across the lake and lunch on the far side. The location is extremely popular, the parking area alone is huge, I imagine it serves other activity points as well. Very touristy on the approach to the ferry jetties, loads of souvenir shops and restaurants/ food outlets. Around lunchtime boats leave every five minutes, we had no waiting time, we bought a ticket and hopped straight onto the next ferry. Everything was highly efficient. Loved it.

Germany’s most beautiful lake, lying peacefully between the mountains. The clear water and majestic scenery make it unforgettable.

Very beautiful and calm place , nice to spend a day here . Coming by car ? Roads are narrow around the lake so be ware most of the time either you have to give the way or the other driver. Parking is just beside the lake but it’s anyways busy

I liked this city so much during my visit, it is not crowded, people are friendly and the nature is perfect. The main factor of rating this city as 5 is the beautiful lake near the city, I recommend to everyone to visit this place. 2 nights stay is enough.

The best place in Germany! This whole region is simply beautiful and the hikes you can do around königssee are fairly easy and mild. We had a funny boat conductor who told us stories about the lake, tradition and more. We went all the way to the other side of königsee and hiked past Obersee to the waterfall. Then on the way back, we got off at the middle stop where there is that "village" (a church, bathroom, and resteraunt) and hiked up to the glacier! It was very beautiful here.

No trip to Berchtesgaden is complete without a boat ride through the Konigssee in Berchtesgaden National Park. The Boat rides leave from the tip of the Konigsee, and can be taken to One or Two spots for a different affordable price. Its a beautiful ride through the lake in the mountains. The entire tour is in German so if you don't speak the language you won't really know what's going on, but no need to as the ride is a reward in itself. Be sure to get to the Docking stations early so that you have time to head out to St. Bartholomew etc. and Hike around. There is also a hofbrau haus directly next to the church to have a nice meal while you wait to return to Berchtesgaden. It's a must do while in this beautiful area of Germany. Take the ride, and listen to the amazing echo's of the trumpets off the mountain side. Highly recommended, and well worth the price.
