We had a very disappointing experience, mainly because of the staff. It wasn’t our first time here, but it will definitely be the last. The manager, Mirjana, was clearly in a bad mood and very unwelcoming.
The food was also below expectations. The beef soup was slightly sour, a sign it wasn’t fresh. The much-praised grilled Caesar’s mushroom came drowned in very bitter homemade olive oil, which completely ruined the flavor. When I mentioned this politely, the manager reacted harshly, became defensive, and created a very unpleasant scene. After that, she avoided our table altogether and treated us with clear disdain.
The fuži with truffles were excellent, but the overall experience was ruined by the atmosphere. At one point, six cyclists arrived and, despite there being space, were turned away because they didn’t have a reservation. By the time a waiter tried to call them back, they were already gone.
We also left in a hurry because the whole situation was so uncomfortable. Such a pity — this used to be a tavern with soul and great food, but sadly, those days are gone.
