"Avoid the many touristy Dalmatian konobas (taverns) and head instead to Konoba Matejuška, tucked into a tight alley in the quaint Varoš neighborhood just off Riva. This rustic family-run tavern offers seafood-focused fare, including a daily catch cooked on the grill and delicious black cuttlefish risotto."

Good selection of seafood dishes. Has the classics from the area like black cuttlefish risotto and octopus salad. Wine list was good too with options for local Croatian varieties.

When in Croatia, a great little authentic restaurant located within the streets in the bustling city center. We had great service, a very friendly waitress! She was lovely. It’s a cozy restaurant with modern and delightful decor. I would strongly recommend the seafood pasta dish for 2. It fed 3, it was so big! Delicious. Everything was divine. The cuttlefish risotto to start off was yummy and a great choice! Highly recommended

Everything was fine. But not much more. Peter was very friendly and did his best. But the food was not great. If you pay 50€ for a small fish, you expect it to taste exquisite, exiting or at least great. It was around good. Do not recommend. There are better alternatives.

I almost never have bad food at a restaurant. Maybe this was an off night for them or they’re so used to giving tourists whatever passes as edible that they didn’t care what I was served. I had the risotto which could have been great if they had just cooked it a few minutes longer. There is a fine line between al dente and crunchy. Needless to say this was the only crunchy risotto I’ve ever had. The flavor was nice, sans creaminess indicative of a good risotto, but I’m pretty sure it went through a microwave as there were some really hot spots and some that were cold. I got the monkfish for my main course and it was chewy and freezer burned except for a couple pieces of what little they gave me. The sauce was delicious though. Didn’t have that great lobster tail like tenderness monkfish usually has. In fact, while trying to debone it, the meat acted like a rubber band and snapped back onto the bone, splashing sauce in my face. I would never eat at this place again and because I wasted €65 I will tell you that you shouldn’t either.

What’s better than a nice early afternoon lunch at a shaded outdoor table on a quiet narrow street? I had tagliatelle with seafood and my wife had Risotto with prawns. Both were great. Loved the location away from the crowed Palace area.

We had baked fish, lamb chops and meat plate which was excellent. The waiter was new to the role and this affected the standard of service. An enjoyable evening nonetheless!

The seafood platter was excellent to share for a late dinner (we didn’t want anything heavy). Liked it a lot! Service was super friendly and they made me a lovely mojito.
