Bland, boring and disappointing breakfast wrap. I'd not come back here if this is the best they can do for food. I walked from Waikiki and was jazzed to try this spot. The reviews were good and thought it'd be a good breakfast spot. I was so wrong. The breakfast wrap was like all ingredients were put together in a wrap and then rolled with no binding agent or cohesive flavours profile going on. The sauce to go didn't add any value to the wrap. I also got a biscuit to go and it was ok. A lot better than the wrap but not by much. Disappointing experience all around. The donut spot next door you should visit to help drown your disappointment in something way more amazing. Those donuts are legit.

Google
Get the Local bomber with avocado, it'll be the best breakfast burrito you've ever had. I never thought I'd say this, but the Portuguese sausage is better than bacon and regular breakfast sausage.

Bernice Koering

Google
The only redeeming factor about the kalua pork and cabbage bowl was the absolutely amazing BBQ quava sauce, otherwise the pork was dry and not seasoned and the cabbage only tased of grease. Will not eat there again.

Stephanie Suarez

Google
Yummy pork and unique blends of BBQ and other foods like breakfast and more! The meats are the star here and we appreciated the kind service! This is a nice spot for a quick bite before heading out for the day or a bite after the beach. Large parties are not recommended as seating is limited.

Chelle T

Google
Cute deli, service was abrupt. Basically told my brother-in-law to read the menu instead of him answering basic questions. It wasn't just one incident, no matter which customer stopped by, the guy was not friendly. The burrito was ok for a fusion burrito. We are use to carnitas with a certain flavor. The pico de gallo, or salsa needed to make it tasty. Bummed that it was not as expected.

Google
Found this place when we walked past Lenard's bakery. I had the BBQ pork Bomber wrap, which was very good, plenty of pork and great flavour. My partner had the lox bagel, which was also very good, next time she will add avocado for that extra taste. Drinks were also excellent, we had two smoothies - sunrise and lava, very delicious. Service was very good, food and drinks were excellent. Would definitely recommend.

Google
The most delicious sandwiches! The meat melt in your mouth, the bun is very crispy and delicious, and sauces go well with meat! The service is wonderful and very attentive. It feels like personal love their workplace and care about their customers. Highly recommend this place, great food and great atmosphere, try the Old School sandwich.

Google
I love this place. The Bombers (burritos) are delicious, and the sandwiches are pretty perfect meat to bread ratio. When I'm in town, I go as often as I can.

Yelp
My family and i came in this week, Nick the manager at your kapahulu location went above and beyond. His aloha spirit and customer service was exceptional. The food was BOMB. It was so filling and such amazing quality. Nick showed us the hot sauces Konos makes and we were amazed. We grabbed a few bottles to take home to share with our family. Wish we could rate this place 10 stars. We will deffinatly be telling our friends and family about our amazing experience

Anna B.

Yelp
Yummy iced coffee and breakfast burritos. Enough to share between one other person because just one half of the burrito is very hearty. Worth the price and nice customer service.

Christy L.

Yelp
I ordered the BBQ Kalua Pig Bomber. The Kalua Pork was SUPERRRR tender and had a great smoky flavor. Maybe I'm just used to burritos on the thicker side, but I wish they would've packed it more as it was on the smaller side. On the other hand, the quesadilla had a bigger portion. In my opinion, the sauce that they give on the side was tastier than their chipotle hot sauce. Although I think they are known for the latter. The service was great! :-) The cashier was welcoming and helpful. Everyone in the store contributed to the ohana environment :D

Whit D.

Yelp
This is a good breakfast spot to try a breakfast burrito. We opted to share the Chun bomber. Pork and bacon ... lol bacon and pork with eggs and potatoes yum. Comes with salsa too. Fresh; filling; good. There is seating both in front where you order and also in the back room. The owner was there and he was very nice; refilling our coffee for us before we left. Refill for the road. Next door to Leonard's Bakery !

Lisa W.

Yelp
My sister recommended this place! She said they are busy so we decided to call ahead for a breakfast burrito. We ordered the Kailua pork, potatoes and eggs. Kinda like a California burrito but definitely a Hawaii burrito. The hot sauce was good. The burrito was tasty. When we came there wasn't a line so we should have just ordered fresh. Still good though! Needed more of their delicious hot sauce. Quick breakfast! Not a dine in, just a grab and go. They have some tables outside.

Jacqueline P.

Yelp
Great BEACH breakfast sandwich! It is a cute little food hut right across from the International Mall area. The menu has different breakfast and lunch options. The size of the portions is equivalent to the price you pay. I throughly enjoyed my food it was filled with egg and guacamole. Honestly would recommend you to take it to go. There are places to sit outside but I wasn't definitely afraid to get pooped on by a bird. There is a tree right in the area and the ground is filled with poop. I took it to go and ate by a bench on the water canal.

Carolyn B.

Yelp
Quick and accommodating for customized requests. The pork is so flavorful and moist. Kailua pork is tender and plentiful in their one pound burritos or " bombers ". The salsa isn't spicy enough to our California palates, but it complimented the fluffy eggs, potatoes and pork in the Chun Bomber. The vanilla macadamia nut iced coffee was delicious with a splash of coconut milk.

Yelp
Breakfast burritos + Kalua Pork might just be the best combination ever created! With a few different locations around the island, I particularly liked this location because it was quiet, easy to access, and off the beaten path. Service was quick and we were eating in no time! Surf shack style interior made for a fun back drop to enjoy their grub. There aren't a ton of tables, so I wouldn't recommend for a large group but the two of us were plenty comfy. Had the breakfast burrito with Kalua pork and was NOT disappointed! Hefty serving with plenty of flavor left me fueled for our day of adventuring around the island! Will definitely be returning next time we are on the island!

Ryan M.

Yelp
Awesome bombers. The pig was amazing and so was the vibe. The menu was big and guys working were great.

Stephani M.

Yelp
All the stars this spot grabs from me. From the service, to the atmosphere to the food--wooooooow!!!! We arrived and the stars who work there already offered the help for any questions we had as first time visitors. Jordan, Hope and Cass were our helpers and they were the example of hospitality. They were so amazing giving us options, explaining the menu and offering samples. I highly recommend Kono's to anyone and everyone looking for an island experience in food, culture and kindness.

Wei-Wei C.

Yelp
Long wait time, not seating in case you are looking for a sit down place for bk. The only thing good I had from there that was the mud pie shake.

Lisa H.

Yelp
With an appointment downtown Honolulu, we looked for lunch options offering lox bagels. Kono's was the first up. The food is fantastic! The gentlemen manning the counter were friendly and very service driven. Food was ready shortly after we arrived to pick up. Both meals were generous in portions and the lox was fresh and my honey amazed at how flavorful it was! Parking was initially questionable (not familiar with the area) but then I drove around the corner and found ample parking behind the building. Really easy to get in and out. Definitely going to be one of our favorite go-to's, cannot wait to try other dishes!

Junior F.

Yelp
Eh, braddah, if you eva go Kono's, you gotta check out Xavier. Bombers are action . Da guy stay da best and he one handsome buggah too!

Terrance F.

Yelp
(May and June 2024) We recently used them for an event we had and bought a lot of burritos. From the start of the process until the end of the process, they were thorough, professional, very responsive and most importantly ONO as it comes. We appreciate their business, we've used them before for big events and we will continue to do so. Thanks for being the fuel and the go-to place for our events! I just left the North Shore location this morning (12 August) and I occasionally eat pork but today I tried their bomber that had Kalua in it! OMFG it was ono. We tried the Lava smoothie as well. It was so damn good, thanks for starting my bday off right!

Marina T.

Yelp
Recently came across Kono's on my staycation in Waikiki and they did NOT disappoint! What looked to be just a small hole in the wall food joint, was actually the most delicious meal I had today! I ordered the beach sandwich and the portion was HUGE. I took the other half to-go and will eat it later tonight I appreciate that the staff at this location was so patient with me as I could be a very indecisive person lol thank you Kono's! I'll definitely be back!

Theo T.

Yelp
Kono's has a special place in my heart. Not only are the employees super nice, but they are so helpful. I have been here a lot and every time I have a fun conversation with the employees. This is our go to spot for breakfast burritos. We also always try to grab something from here before we head home. It is the perfect thing to eat on a plane. Its delicious both freshly hot or cold and smashed in your bag. Just so flavorful and delicious! We always order the Chuns Bomber (Pulled Kalua Pork & Bacon) and the Queens Bomber (Chorizo, eggs, bacon, cheese and salsa). Highly recommend both, but everything they have here is great! Love this place! I have even ordered their hot sauces to take back to the mainland!

Joann L.

Yelp
I haven't had Kono's in a few years and I decided to revisit. My friend and I had the Old School Sandwich and a Turkey Avocado Melt sandwich along with a strawberry cheesecake milkshake. The staff were friendly and there was a decent amount of seats. The milkshakes are $10 and although that sounds pretty intimidating, I thought it was worth it! The only downside about this Kono's location is that the parking lot here is pretty small and cramped.

Eric L.

Yelp
Staff was friendly. Food was good but I found the pork a little bland compared to others I've had. The salad was a bit wilted. Not a fan of the smoothies. Overall... it was good just not fantastic.

Victoria M.

Yelp
Tasty food, and the prices are pretty good too! I had the old school and my husband had the Hawaiian bowl. I loved the green sauce that came with his bowl

Malery G.

Yelp
We got the kids quesdilla which my son loved! But the real show stopper was the 3 milkshakes we got! I got the sneak which was so delicious and I would recommend to anyone who loves peanut butter! Check them out!

Suri S.

Yelp
Really enjoyed getting the Chuns Bomber here! So good. I do wish there was a bit more Kalua pork and extra guava sauce. The service was nice and friendly. Some parking located in the back, otherwise tricky location to get parking.

Christine N.

Yelp
First impressions: small but clean and welcoming. We did a phone order and pick up before heading to the Honolulu airport. The service was quick and friendly. 10 minute wait time after we made our phone order and it was ready in time The noms: Chuns breakfast burrito - pulled pork was crispy and delicious. Queens breakfast burrito - perfect amount of Portuguese sausage and bacon in the filling. In Conclusion: love this spot for a quick bite to eat. They don't have any let up tho, kinda weird since ketchup is such a staple... but their BBQ sauces waaaaayyy eclipse regular old ketchup so I didn't miss it much lol

Carson P.

Yelp
I went for breakfast and the pork & bacon breakfast burrito was great. Come hungry - this is some heavy & tasty food!

Angel C.

Yelp
Surprised I haven't reviewed any Kono's location, even though I've been to the Honolulu, North Shore, and Kailua locations! CHUN'S BOMBER--if there's one reason to visit any Kono's it's this item. Kono's is known for their modern spin on serving kalua pork, not Kahlua pork, not Kailua pork, but kalua pork, the traditional Hawaiian style of cooking a pig underground. Chun's Bomber is the item to get here. It's basically a breakfast burrito with kalua pork and bacon. You can also order order a kalua pork-only bomber (the Haleiwa), but why stick with that? One other time, I ordered a Queens at the North Shore location for something different. It was tasty, but Chun's is still my favorite. Parking is pretty standard for Kapahulu from what I remember, but the food is worth it. I've only ever ordered Chun's and I can't say anything about the rest of the menu, except for the house sauces which you must try. For those alone, five stars from me!

Mia R.

Yelp
Myah helped us out and she was amazing super nice and very helpful, she also made our food and it was delicious!!

Francesca P.

Yelp
Food is great! Service is amazing! Team is so friendly and welcoming! Food is always on point! Everything is amazing especially the guava bbq sauce. Andrew and Team Kapahulu are the best!

Maggie L.

Yelp
This is the best Kono's on the island! The staff is top tier and always friendly. The vibes are chill and welcoming. Highly recommend stopping here anytime of the day, the bombers are packed full of flavor. Special shout out to Myah and nick for being so awesome and kind and making us feel like family. Again, thank you Myah

Franceska R.

Yelp
So good! Definitely on the heavier side for people who try their burritos. Recommended their mango pineapple hot sauce(?) I forgot the name but it was amazing with the burrito. Friends ended up buying a few bottles to go.

Larry F.

Yelp
Just stopped by coming into Waikiki and asked for a sample of the slow roasted pork. The guy there was super nice and gave me a small cup to try. This was beautifully cooked and so good! Down not need anything added just pure flavor! Now I have to go have a sandwich!

Amy Y.

Yelp
I was craving a breakfast burrito on a random morning. Found this place to open early for breakfast. Street parking available. Reccommend phone ordering for take out. Don't think they are doing dine in right now. I first tried Kono at their Haleiwa location and loved their burrito. Ordered the Haleiwa Breakfast bomber $13 - filled with eggs, pork, and potatoes. Also got a side of salsa sauce. Very filling and tasty. Love the flavor of the pork. Not too salty. The burrito is definitely a bit smaller considering the price for it. Also got a Kono decal sticker.

Mabelle T.

Yelp
As I make my way though Waikiki, Kono's is one of those places that are "a must" to visit at least once. After a full day of work, this is a spot without the wait in town with plenty of seating. Today, I ordered the Big Pug Quesadilla. Big mahalo to Savannah and the super friendly crew :)

Ken T.

Yelp
Excellent pulled pork sandwiches. My wife and I took them on the plane back. Definitely hit the spot! Great conversation with staff. A must go too!

Samantha P.

Yelp
Breakfast right before checking out some beaches. I had the B.E.A.C.H sandwich which was AHMAZING!! One thing I give high points for is when I can taste all the individual flavors. The combo of each ingredient made this an amazing sandwich. The ham and bacon were perfectly flavored and not overly salty. The eggs were fluffy. The avocado added that perfect amount of mellowness to the whole sandwich. If I had one bad thing about the sandwich was that I'm not a fan of cold (avocado) mixed with hot (eggs), but also hot avocado is kinda weird. It's a me thing. Hubby had the biscuits and gravy. Standard fare but I will say the gravy had a citrusy taste to it. It wasn't bad just not our thing. Service was friendly, quick and efficient. We were likely the first customers of the day and sometimes people need some time to wake up, but she was ready with a smile. It was a small place with 2 tables. Definitely a grab and go situation, but I worked out great because we went to a park and were able to explore more of the island in the process. Overall, definitely recommend!!!

Lindsey M.

Yelp
Went out of my comfort zone and got a sandwich from Konos. For years I've only gotten their burritos bombers because it's an easy to go item. Plus a friend of mine got a wrap once and it didn't appeal to me over a burrito. Yesterday was another story. Let me tell you: get their Old School Sandwich!! I tried both the Old School Sandwich and the Triple Crown. On the menu I couldn't tell the difference. But the Triple Crown was very similar, but with bacon and ham (hence the triple). I just felt that I didn't need the triple meat and cheese. The kalua pig was so juicy and plentiful already and there was a perfectly crunchy coleslaw. And both came with the classic Maui onion potato chips. Absolutely delicious!

Irene M.

Yelp
Hangry but just frustrated with my exhausted brains that just didn't know what it wanted...grrr! Kono's!! Love love love their Bombers (breakfast burritos) so why not their wrap...or nachos!?! Gah! Get both hahaha!!! BBQ Pork Bomber is basically a bento all wrapped up, Kalua pork with bbq sauce, grilled onions with white rice and cheese. Yummy yet strange the white rice was exactly that...plain white rice. Nachos on the other hand was yummy!! All the standard toppings of tomatoes, onions, jalapeños and sour cream is topped with their Kalua pork and guava bbq sauce is so heavenly though my only negative is there's barely any cheese if any at all. Currently it's takeout only and made super fast. Thank you!!

Irma C.

Yelp
Amazing Food .. we landed in Oahu and saw an advertisement we love it can't even describe it you just have to go

Lauren N.

Yelp
Meh. I'm confused by all of the hype. I've had Kono's bookmarked for a while now and finally decided to give it a try. I ordered the Chuns Bomber breakfast burrito, since that seemed to be the most popular according to the reviews. The kalua pork tasted like standard bbq pulled pork and was super dry. The potatoes, eggs, and cheese wasn't anything special. The only redeeming quality about it was the bbq salsa that helped mask the flavors of the burrito. My tortilla was also really toasted, so I was covered in flour tortilla crumbs afterwards. My parents ordered the Pork Plate lunch and didn't think the pork was anything special. There's no indoor or outdoor seating, takeout only. They're currently offering a check-in deal -- Free soda with $20 or more. We used this, but the staff forgot to give us the soda and we didn't remember until after we left. I was really exited to try this place, but left unimpressed. If you're craving a breakfast burrito, this will get the job done, but I didn't think it was worth the price.

Cristalle L.

Yelp
Bussed here to grab the chun bomber and this breakfast burrito is HUGE!! They make it fresh on order and the wrap was super crispy and the filling was so tasty. I saved half for the next day :) The staff were super chill and nice and accommodated my dairy allergy by making a dairy free sunrise smoothie - mahalo :) Its also a few doors down from Leonards so if that's your thing, you can cross off two popular spots in one visit.

Dill P.

Yelp
Great service, got two breakfast burritos, both tasted yummy. It was quick and the smoothies are good too.

Mat P.

Yelp
Great food and large portions. A great value for the money spent. Hard to find in Hawaii.

Michelle A.

Yelp
Oh yeah. The bombers are da bomb; it's the California sized burrito and hot sauce magic...this is coming from an Austinite having grown up spoiled in tacos and salsa! Yum. All locations are great and these bad boys are a great beach treat.

Catherine P.

Yelp
Ordered the avocado veggie wrap for lunch to be delivered to the office. Came exactly as ordered, yay! The wrap came with a handful of Maui onion chips. The wrap itself was quite full:lettuce, lots of sprouts, Kraft American cheese, good amount of avocado, tomato, cucumber and extra papaya seed dressing on the side to dip into. The food was pretty good, the dressing making it much better. Only issue was the wrap getting stuck on my teeth and the sprouts between my teeth. Not the best office meeting meal lol. But it was a decent size burrito and I only ended up eating half of it. It seemed like everyone else liked the plates or sandwiches they got. A very successful lunch place and no one's order was wrong!

Jaden C.

Yelp
Service and food were amazing! The vibes were so chill and Myah helped us navigate the extensive menu and led us to the most delicious options. Extra aloha serve daily is 100% true!

Mandy T.

Yelp
Tried this place twice now. It's terrible. First time I was vegetarian and had the breakfast bomber with no meat so I added the sour cream, jalapeños and avocado making it a $20 breakfast burrito... it was so tiny I could have eaten 2 or 3 of them to get full and swore I'd never return. I'm eating near again so I decided to go give it one more try since everyone's reviews rave about it. I got the chubs breakfast bomber this time with kalua pork and bacon. The potatoes had no seasoning, the eggs were fine, the cheese had no flavor, there was no flavor to the kalua pork and no smoke flavor, there was barely any bacon and the salsa made it all worse. I won't be going back. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because they were nice.

Brian W.

Yelp
Kyle rocked!! Amazing selection, breakfast burritos are the real deal and the PB&J milkshake makes a surprisingly great pairing for breakfast!! Make the trip if you are staying on Waikiki.

Charles M.

Yelp
We stumbled into this great sandwich spot while grabbing donuts next door. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was good and wholesome. I really liked the price. Staying on the nearby Waikiki beach you literally have to pay $50 for every entree and this was a nice reprieve from the price tags at the resort. It was also good to get some authentic food with a nice dinning room to eat in. I especially enjoyed the surfboards and neon signs. This is a great place for photo ops.

Lisa J.

Yelp
Stopped by on a whim when we couldn't find parking at our original planned restaurant. We were warmly welcomed immediately upon entering (a little after 10am on a Sunday) and our order was taken quickly. While waiting, we were offered a small cup of a smoothie, the Sunrise (strawberry, banana, and OJ). It was tasty! My husband and I each ordered a breakfast bomber - The Chuns. It was by far the best breakfast burrito I've ever had! A HUGE burrito full of fluffy scrambled eggs, tender seasoned potatoes, bacon, lots of cheese, and the smokiest, crispy delicious Kalua Pig. There was also a bag of chips in our bag. The guy behind the counter said there's 5 oz of pig, and the burrito should be about a pound in total. He's not exaggerating- these burritos were heavy! I added jalapeños to mine, which it didn't need, as everything was so flavorful on its own. I LOVE bacon, but honestly this burrito didn't it, as the Kalua Pig was so salty, crispy, and flavorful. It also came with a side of super tasty salsa/hot sauce. About halfway through, I was stuffed, but couldn't help myself and ate the pork and the eggs with a fork, it was just too tasty to go to waste. I left with a belly ache from too much food stuffed in! My husband ordered a hot coffee (it was great!) and I ordered a Diet Pepsi. Being from the Midwest, I appreciated the fountain soda - most smaller places seem to offer only canned soft drinks. They were pretty busy with people consistently walking in to order or coming in to pick up their orders, but the two guys working moved everyone through pretty quickly. The guy who took our order (younger guy - owner? manager? not sure) was making food, smoothies, running the register, all while being friendly and chatting/checking on anyone within ear shot. It's a very casual surfing theme here, but keep in mind it's super close quarters. There are a couple tiny tables in front of the registers, a couple chairs by the window (great for people watching) and about 3 tables in the back room. We snagged one of the small tables in the front and we got a nice breeze from the open front door. Probably not a bad idea to plan to just carry out unless you luck into a table. Parking is tricky in this area, but there are a couple spots behind the building. We've been on Oahu for six days, and this is the best breakfast I've had and one of my top five best tasting meals. Food was amazing and super friendly and quick service. This is 100% a must try!

Corey C.

Yelp
The place is small inside, but the food is great. The bombers are unmatched and are giant, so bring your appetite. Do not expect smiles or great service from these guys. The old guy in there looks like he hates his customers, but he makes great food. Go check it out!

Cristina P.

Yelp
I read all of the reviews and was beyond excited to try a breakfast burrito! My husband and I ordered them to go since they are not allowing seating due to Covid. I was surprised that they do not allow this, very inconvenient. We started to eat our burrito in the car on the way to a snorkel adventure and the entire bag was dripping of grease. The burrito was pretty good but far too greasy for my taste. I would not recommend since you have to take it to go and it is not a "to go" type of item.
