Stopped by on a whim when we couldn't find parking at our original planned restaurant. We were warmly welcomed immediately upon entering (a little after 10am on a Sunday) and our order was taken quickly. While waiting, we were offered a small cup of a smoothie, the Sunrise (strawberry, banana, and OJ). It was tasty! My husband and I each ordered a breakfast bomber - The Chuns. It was by far the best breakfast burrito I've ever had! A HUGE burrito full of fluffy scrambled eggs, tender seasoned potatoes, bacon, lots of cheese, and the smokiest, crispy delicious Kalua Pig. There was also a bag of chips in our bag. The guy behind the counter said there's 5 oz of pig, and the burrito should be about a pound in total. He's not exaggerating- these burritos were heavy! I added jalapeños to mine, which it didn't need, as everything was so flavorful on its own. I LOVE bacon, but honestly this burrito didn't it, as the Kalua Pig was so salty, crispy, and flavorful. It also came with a side of super tasty salsa/hot sauce. About halfway through, I was stuffed, but couldn't help myself and ate the pork and the eggs with a fork, it was just too tasty to go to waste. I left with a belly ache from too much food stuffed in!
My husband ordered a hot coffee (it was great!) and I ordered a Diet Pepsi. Being from the Midwest, I appreciated the fountain soda - most smaller places seem to offer only canned soft drinks.
They were pretty busy with people consistently walking in to order or coming in to pick up their orders, but the two guys working moved everyone through pretty quickly. The guy who took our order (younger guy - owner? manager? not sure) was making food, smoothies, running the register, all while being friendly and chatting/checking on anyone within ear shot.
It's a very casual surfing theme here, but keep in mind it's super close quarters. There are a couple tiny tables in front of the registers, a couple chairs by the window (great for people watching) and about 3 tables in the back room. We snagged one of the small tables in the front and we got a nice breeze from the open front door. Probably not a bad idea to plan to just carry out unless you luck into a table. Parking is tricky in this area, but there are a couple spots behind the building.
We've been on Oahu for six days, and this is the best breakfast I've had and one of my top five best tasting meals. Food was amazing and super friendly and quick service. This is 100% a must try!
