The place is very peaceful and quiet. It’s situated very central of Brisbane, and most things can be reached by foot. We had a double room for two nights. It was nice to have big double bed, clean sheets and towels. The bedroom was air conditioned, and we had our own fridge. |The host was very kind and helpful, and we got a quick respond when we needed any assistance. The rooms are a bit old fashioned, and a refresh of the kitchen area would be nice. We can recommend Kookaburra Inn if you want a peaceful and quiet place close to the center.

The room was clean with a good aircondinioner and very good Wifi. The location is great and the staff was very kind, esspecailly Sean. The kitchen was also good, everthing you need was there. The other guests were a little loud and the bathrooms looked very old and somrtimes dirty. All in all a good place for a few nights.

as a corporate traveler of nearly 40 years i was quite surprised to see how poorly this place was- you can't sugar coat it- I guess in these economic times- budget is budget and that's what this little place is- and that is what it was advertised as. It was the cheapest no dormitory place i could find. |it was quiet- the sheets were clean, basin in the room , and the guys running the place Stephen and Sean were super friendly ,nice, and helpful with my bag on the way out ( not in). It was a humbling experience to say the least .|TBH the place could do with a complete renovation and maybe a bull dozer- then it wouldn't be budget and would cost a fortune. If you are able to check it out in person before booking that would be better- in these tough times anything goes and this was that.no hard feelings it beats sleeping in a car or on the street. unfortunatey the pictures on booking .com make it look amazing. And thats probably what it was years ago.

Overall, I had a pleasant stay. I was a bit skeptical about a common kitchen and shower but it was not bad at all. I like that it is close to the queen street mall. I attended the P!NK concert at the Suncorp stadium and walked back safely within 30mins. Thoroughly enjoyed BNE with Kookaburra Inn as my base 😊

Great place! All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful! The place is in a good location, clean, quiet, good shower, walkable for sightseeing, food and shopping. Has a nice outdoor area. The inn is well maintained. If visiting Brisbane again, definitely staying here!

i needed reasonably priced accommodation in Brisbane when my sister was hospitalised. Stephen and Sean made me welcome and were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The rooms are old but clean and the bathrooms and kitchens were always clean as well. If you are looking for a bed in a central location at a reasonable price, I recommend the Kookaburra Inn

The rooms are all very well cleaned and organised before each stay, and the shared areas are also well cleaned. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, giving me maps on the area around me and where I could visit, which gave me a much more enjoyable experience during my stay.

The rooms and amenities are modest but very comfortable. The management is polite and easy to contact. They let us keep their luggage behind the desk after we had checked out, which was a big help for that day.

Yelp
When I'm traveling abroad you'll find me at hotels & motels & also the occasional apartment :), but all of these were way over priced for the 4 nights that i wanted to stay in Brizzy for. Kookaburra Inn has private bedrooms and then with everything else is shared. Never had the chance to stay at a hostel before but if any of the other hostels have cost beds and friendly people and half decent cleanliness I'm down to give another one a go :). It's all about having fun experiences while traveling and if you meet some cool peeps along the way even better :)!! me & my So Cal friend met some friendly Europeans, fellow ozzies, asians & fair few south Americans here :D. Enough of a decked out kitchen to just go grocery shopping amd come back and cook up a storm :), cosy dining area inside and nice outdoor seating aswell. Thry have their own laundry machines out the back and ample toilets & Showers. Also the Kookaburra Inn is nestled in a grest spot in Spring Hill, with a woolies, subway priceline etc 5 mins walk away, China Town 10 mins walk same with Fortitude Valley & about a 15 minute walk if that to Story bridge or the ferrys :). The Owners Wendy & Chris are super friendly and always up for a bit of a banter & they also got a big & super gentle German Shepherd that follows the couple around when they cleaning vacated rooms or just greeting the guests :). Really enjoyed my stay here and would be more than happy to stay here if I'm ever up in Bristanbul again :D!!

Yelp
Parking is not free! It's falsely advertised on booking.com and a disappointment for travelers with cars. The receptionist gave us a permit for our car but it didn't garuantee not getting a ticket. When we asked where to park she pointed to the 2 hour parking curb and said the meter maids don't come everyday. Also the rooms are small for the price we pay and for the rating it got on booking.com. Their only TV is in a small room. Our bedroom upstairs smelled like mold probably from the small corner sink spilling water on the carpet each time you use it. Early morning before checkout we were rudely awaken by a maintenance man pulling the carpet off the floor. It would've been very helpful if the receptionist told us the night before it happened so we wouldn't wake up in a panic.

Yelp
This is the cutest little place ever. Great location. Highly recommend if you're traveling alone. Outdoor space is nice too. There's an adorable dog. Probably not a great place if you're looking to party.
