We popped in today for a quick break from the rain and to get some cake and coffee. We were greeted by friendly staff. We was not rushed to place our order. I had a decaff flat White and it was delicious and very strong. Also had some blueberry cake and it was soft, moist and a large portion. Multiple toilets and plenty of seating. Very clean and a nice atmosphere.

Really great food and SO many gluten free options! And on nice GF bread too! Great to just order a "normal" brunch and know it's safe to eat. Coffee was good too. Glynn & Dylan are also very lovely servers :)

This place is amazing. Loved the vibe, music, and most importantly the food. We were looking for the perfect place that served breakfast; cooked for me and vegan for my wife. After looking at several places, we found Kooks. We were served by the very friendly Glyn. What arrived was knock-out (see photos). My poached eggs were perfect. Real attention to detail with the cooking. And my wife’s yoghurt and granola was exactly what she craved, but there was also a vegan cooked breakfast option. Cannot recommend this place highly enough and we’ll be going back the next time we’re in Brighton. Love love love ❤️

Didn't want to leave a bad review but our experience was so poor. It took over 20 mins and a reminder to the staff for us to have our order taken. It then took over an hour for two sandwiches and some chips. Other tables who came in after us and having full fry ups got their food before us (it did take a long time for their food in fairness) We asked for an update after an hour and were told it would be another 5 minutes... 15 minutes later and it came. The table next to us were also kept waiting but were kept updated on their order and apologised to for the wait. We were just ignored. Went to pay and were just handed the card machine with the tip already added and I had to embarrassingly say it didn't seem reasonable to ask for a tip. We were told the kitchen is small and food does take some time. Might be worth telling people this on arrival as we wouldn't have stayed or even just keep us updated during the meal and apologise. Over an hour for two sandwiches seems insane. Not only no compensation but expecting a tip was disappointing. Added a picture of what we received

Had bottomless brunch with a friend and it was fantastic from start to finish. We were greeted warmly, the food and service were excellent, Prosecco always topped up making the whole experience relaxed and enjoyable. The atmosphere was lovely—perfect for catching up. The manager, Glyn, was in total control ensuring everything ran smoothly. He was incredibly attentive, ensuring every customer was cared for. Glyn & his team were calm, friendly, and looked after us beautifully, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended!

Great brunch spot! We were a large party and were well accommodated outside on a nice sunny day! Staff were friendly and attentive, very quick service. Food was delicious and reasonably priced! Highly recommend!!

Was served by Dylan- he was very friendly, helpful and seemed genuinely interested in making sure we had a lovely time. The food was great- catered for allergies (gluten free) and wasn’t too long of a wait even though it was busy

Great place to eat. Easily the best breakfast I've had for a long time

Yelp
We stopped in midday for drinks and a bite. They had a cocktail special, which is what bright us in. We had Bloody Mary's - not the best I've had. I probably would skip these. We started the veggie sandwich. The beetroot hummus drew us in, along with the pickled onion confit. It was a good sandwich, not huge to split, but it worked for us. No pic cause it took a bit and we were starving. Overall, we enjoyed our dining experience. I'd say leaning toward good vs. great.

Yelp
Food lovely but the waiter with the stripy jumper and gold earrings was unbelievably rude. This guy should not work in hospitality. We asked to move tables from a very loud table and he was huffy and pass remarkable. When we finally sat down at our new table we called over to him to order. We hadn't noticed that he was carrying plates, he very aggressively turned round to us and said"what do you want me to do, just drop these plates and smash them in the floor, he kept repeating this saying so, do you. I have never met such an unpleasant person waiter in my life. Shame because the rest of the staff were very nice. If he worked in my restaurant I would show him the door.

Yelp
what a fab find whilst spending five days in brighton, uk. in a town full of fish & chips, kebabs and vegan food - kooks caters for all dietary requirements and still offers a great variety. my wife said the eggs were cooked perfectly, my chicken sandwich on ciabatta 'did exactly what it said on the tin' and the service from saul and his colleague was excellent. not sure why kooks yelp rating is not 4.5+ (it should be). eat here with absolute confidence!

Yelp
I really liked this place in it's previous guise as Temptation, and I guess I was expecting something similar when I popped in today. Although they do coffee and cakes, it seems that Kooks is now more of a bistro come restaurant, and the menu does look tasty if nothing out of the ordinary. However, on this occasion, I was just here for a cuppa. The staff were very welcoming on arrival, and I ordered an Earl Grey and a slice of Bakewell tart which they brought over to the table. The tart was reasonably tasty but I little dry, I'm guessing it was yesterday's. My biggest complaint however was the fact it was so cold in there. I, like fellow customers, was unable to remove my coat, and even fully dressed I still shivered my way through my cake, even the hot tea failed to warm me. I know it's cold outside at the moment, but they really need to sort out the temperature in here. If I had ordered food from the menu, I know it would have been cold before I had the chance to eat it. I will come back to try out the full menu, and hopefully it will be a little warmer on my next visit, but I may bring my winter woolies just in case!

Yelp
This is a cool newly opened restaurant in Brighton, the staff here were extremely friendly and helpful as myself and my friend were running very late for our booking which was kept for us for a whole hour. The menu is small but still has a good few possible options I would of been happy to go for, to start I had the battered haddock thingys which were probably my favourite part of the meal. For the main I had to burger which was nice and my friend had the steak which was also nice. The meal was good value, the burger wasn't the best burger Iv come across in Brighton but was still tasty. We finished with cocktails which were delicious too. Really nice place to grab a nice meal With lovely staff, good music and good value too.

Yelp
We went here for lunch earlier in the week in a group of 7. We hadn't booked and the very friendly staff happily shuffled some tables around for us to fit us in. As it turned out they were two members of staff down which meant the service was slow but hardly the staffs fault and they were very apologetic and still attentive which was great. The starters were fantastic, everyone cleared their plates, the sides of pork squares deserve a particular mention as does the haddock a shreds. Delicious. Most of us went for burgers as main courses and the burger melted in the mouth. I haven't had a burger with quite this texture before. It made a nice change but still not quite there to take my fave Brighton burger title. One downside was the bun fell to pieces which made it pretty messy to eat (this is one of my main gripes with a burger). Due to the take taken to get good we didn't have time for desert which was a shame as I'm sure they were good. Great staff, great food, will Defo be back when hopefully they will be fully staffed.

Yelp
Kooks Deliciously Tasty Wow... what a great stumble across. Finally, there is a place that can meet all your hunger driven desires. It looks great and comes across even better. The staff are fantastically warm and are more than attentive to all your needs & requests. As is the owner, who has the warmest, most welcoming smile and disposition I've seen for a long time.... it's refreshing (... & somewhat all too rare) to come across such a content & professional workforce. Then there's the food! The menu has obviously been put together by a genuine taste guru. Everything is presented so thoughtfully and made with such an obvious amount of dedication and care. The results of this attention to detail are beyond impressive. All of which will leave your taste buds screaming for more. I guarantee, you will return, again and again. Do not visit Brighton without taking the opportunity for your body, mind and soul to experience Kooks & their sensational menu. The drinks menu is also an absolute delight... and their expresso martinis are to die for.

Yelp
Please don't bother going here. The owner or manager was extremely rude to me this afternoon. I literally sat down outside and was going to grab a coffee, but was waiting for my friend inside - so I thought I'll wait. The manger made me feel really bad and awkward for sitting down and not ordering anything. She basically asked me to leave!!!!! Needless to say my friend came out and I said , I'm not getting anything here. Poor customer service and rude!

Yelp
Kooks is a great place to stop by while you're shopping in the lanes! The food was excellent and the staff super sweet and attentive. You can enjoy a little peace and quiet sitting inside their stylish interior or people-watch on their outside seatonh. We tried the feta-chili-avocado rye bread sandwich with eggd benedict and the mediterranean salad and loved it

Yelp
This place is cute and seems to offer a good variety of brunch and lunch items. However, be warned, they sell super stale cake and pastries. Also, their coffee tastes weak. I went with a friend and we sorted out that that cake she chose must have been a day old, while mine was at least two days old.
