Food was extremely ordinary and overpriced. Pint of prawns was a joke, a pint of ice with 8 prawns that looked like they were picked up from the local Cole’s - $25 Scallops had a funny taste off them as well They need to lift this, great location shit food. There was one nice waitress.

Unfortunately I had to write a review. Had a late lunch the other day. Beautiful day...sunny..great views as usual.. We ordered 2 fish burgers...2 non alcoholic drinks which came to just on $100... The food was just nice but padded out with fries. The drinks were from a can. Overall..pretty expensive..pretty ordinary. The service had no sole..no heart..particularly the waitress who simply just didn't want to be there.. Disappointing for such a great location.. Would I go again? Probably not....

It pains me to criticise local spots but the Koonya hotel is such a shame, 10/10 real estate for a restaurant delivering 2/10 food at hatted restaurant prices. Can’t properly shuck an oyster, can’t season anything, serve dry old fries and overcooked fish, awful non-local beer list. At least the servers are nice and understanding. Don’t spend your money here.

Brought our grandson for lunch for the first time and we were really disappointed. Beautiful location, lovely decor but the food was a real let down. We were the only ones there and thought the food would be great. Instead, it took quite a while to get it and my fish and grandson's and hubbies parmas were small and tough. Not cheap and not worth another chance...unfortunately they let themselves down terribly. Definitely need a new chef.

It looked like a great place and I wanted to have a drink here.. in fact I wanted to have a meal, but as soon as i entered the empty bar i was ignored until i made myself known to whom i can only assume was the owner / manager, who pointed me over to where i could get my own menu, then instructed me to go back outside, take note of my table number then return back i side to place my order, so I left. I wish i could comment on the food or even the drinks..

It's a shame ... it's a beautifull place with a wonderful view . The waitress is not happy to be here and didn't even take any attention to you for ordering until she finish her conversation with her friend . The cocktails are not fresh made just came from a tap ( 20 dollars a margarita ) The fish burger wasn't nice ,oily and chewy. You have to grab your own cuttelery , sauce and no one take care of you . We were not even 10 in a restaurant . It's a shame everything is so expensive for what it is . Never again .

Great location, beach view but extremely expensive. The restaurant has a modern look, also ample space for dinner. I had the salmon, it had a very nice crispy skin but my one was much smaller than my friends. The fish and chips was very battered, could not taste the fish. It's a perfect location, but they need to make some changes on prices and menu.

We had dinner here at the al fresco area overlooking the beach. The food was Mexican and the quality of the food was overall good. The ceviche was too sour but flavour wise it was good. Portion size is on the small side. Worth a visit for something different to the usual pub food around the place
