Urban Hakwer, a Singapore Hawker Center, Opens in NYC

"A Nanyang-coffee specialist that grinds Robusta beans fresh and blends them with condensed and evaporated milk for a strong, smooth finish, also offering kaya-and-butter toasts ideal for morning crowds and modeled on established Singapore outposts." - Mahira Rivers, Adam Friedlander

Coffee here is definitely better than the usual coffee shop. A rather robust and smooth brew, though initially had a bit of that siap siap taste but it did balance out after a few sips so alls good. $2.70 for my ice kopi, 50% sweetness.

Ordered fishball noodles with chilli and vinegar but somehow their concoction of sauce tasted sweeter than the usual fishball noodles with vinegar elsewhere. Matcha milk toast was tasty, however the stall area is infested with lots of flies that will fly around you during your meal, making your mealtime less enjoyable as a result. The stall next door also has an employee who will keep hitting the flies away with a towel so some flies might end up flying to Kopifellas instead. Their earl grey milk tea was disappointing for the price - it was diluted and very ‘thin’. The taste was a bit superficial. Not sure if they were shorthanded but the cashier guy taking our orders was very distracted when taking our orders. there was constant break in between our order and it took us 1-2 mins to finish ordering as he was doing some other stuff (looking behind, looking at other customer’s order) while mending the cashier…

Kopifellas has become my go-to spot whenever I’m in need of a satisfying cup of hot kopi or teh. Their price is also reasonable for its quality. This stall consistently delivers high-quality kopi and teh that cater perfectly to my cravings. But their food and other beverages so so only. Kopi: The kopi is a standout. The brew is rich and robust, that is perfectly balanced by the sweetness of condensed milk. Each cup is consistently smooth and velvety, making it a delightful treat every time. Teh: Their teh is equally impressive. It boasts a mellow, sweet flavor with a creamy texture that is incredibly comforting. The balance between the black tea and the condensed milk is just right, providing a soothing experience that keeps me coming back for more. Ambience: The cafe is in a non air condition area and table is quite limited, small, cramp as close to each other so I often order takeout instead of dine in. Limited seating during peak hours, so it can get a bit crowded. Overall: This shop is a gem for anyone who loves a good cup of kopi or teh. The high-quality kopi and teh, make it a must-visit cafe for satisfying your cravings.

This is the first time I ordered kaya toast set here. $5.80 for kaya toast, 2 eggs, and 2 slices of bread(I know they halfed one slice to make it look like 2). Eggs and Kopi O taste alright. But totally disappointed with their kaya butter toast. I could hardly see kaya in there and a very thin sliced butter for each, so petatic!. Found that only one side of toast is with a very thin layer of kaya.. I was not happy and brought back the 4 half without kaya to the counter and gave my feedback.. In hawker centre, even though I paid $3.50 for a toast set, the kaya are spread evenly over both sides. I hope they improve their offerings..

Food is bad, except the eggs. The fishball soup was decent, at least the soup had flavour, but the fishballs were barely palatable. The earl grey milk toast set was disappointing. There's barely any taste to the earl grey milk spread. I almost had to imagine what the taste was like. Same with the earl grey milk tea, disappointing as well. I don't know if it's a bad day or just the regular food they serve, but I wouldn't come back here. It's really too disappointing. Perhaps there's a queue because they're opened earlier and there's no other choice. I don't know, I'm feeling a second wave of disappointment just looking through the pictures again. Not worth the money. One of the rare times I didn't finish my toast at all.

Interesting to try. $5 small cold brew and $2.90 large yuan yang. Cold brew doesn’t have the smooth, mellow, and less acidic taste that you expect to have. Yuan Yang is what you can get at the coffeeshop but at a higher price. They should review why they are serving normal drinks at a higher price when there is nothing additional they can offer at present eg ambience, branding etc. Personal opinion. Try it yourself to know what they offer.

Heard so much about Kopifellas and all along I thought they only serve the usual kopi, teh and lotti until I finally managed to try today. Simple fan fare of BCM and Ice Kopi were enough to win me over. I did not order Siew dai for my drink but it didn’t come with the usual diabetic level of sweetness, you can still taste the fragrance of traditional kopi unlike some that make their kopi really acidic because of the beans they use. BCM was good too, extremely flavorful with the right mixture of sauce, good portion and the mee kia I ordered was tangy. Saw some other reviews that shared it’s too sweet but I thought otherwise. Overall, this is one good spot for kopi and your BCM fix. They serve fish all noodle, lor mee and laksa too.

We used to patronise Kopifellas regularly. However, the standard has fallen - the bak chor mee (egg noodle with mince pork) was bland dried noodles with excessive oil (as seen by the box) with unappetizing pieces of meat (mostly strings of fat as shown in the picture). The drinks were average. Gave an average score for Service and Atmosphere since it was a delivery.
