A true taste of Singapore in Hobart! After more than two weeks touring around Australia, we were so happy to discover Kopitiam Singapore Cafe. The food was absolutely spot on – flavourful, authentic, and cooked with care. We tried the Nasi Lemak, Hor Fun, Fried Kuay Teow, and Fried Hokkien Mee – all were delicious and reminded us of home. The sambal chilli in the Nasi Lemak was especially rich and fragrant, and we loved that they don’t use any MSG. It was so satisfying that the four of us ended up ordering an extra bowl of Laksa to complete the experience! Definitely a must-visit for anyone craving real Singaporean flavours in Tasmania.

First visit yesterday. Unfortunately food didn't quite meet our expectations. Servings (char kueh teow and singapore chow fun) were small with very limited and cheaper ingredients. I guess the prices were cheaper than other similar restaurants but not good if ingredients were "watered down" and dishes not satisfying. We left somewhat disappointed.

It's sooo good. We had seafood laksa, nasi lemak with squid sambal and sweet sour pork rice. Dare say better than most of Malaysian /Singaporean shops

Chicken rice was authentically singapore and fried hokkien prawn noodles were pretty close too. Great place to visit when one is homesick and wanted Singapore cuisine.

I went to to restaurant because of the reviews and really wanted a good wonton soup. First impressions not good, really old worn table & chairs, no one in site, then someone popped up behind an elevated platform/plastic screen. They took my order & held up the eft machine from behind the plastic screen/shield to pay. After my order was taken I hear a microwave turn on & running water, not something you want to hear and sadly the soup lived up to that, flour tasting tasteless wontons, soup & cheap instant noodles $19. This restaurant was not what I expected from the reviews online…

I’ve had better Laksa, but this was still a solid 7/10. The noodles were great, and I liked having the choice of thin rice noodles, Hokkien egg noodles, or a mix—I went for the mix. The golden broth had a decent depth, though it didn’t taste completely fresh. Still, it was close to the Singapore-style Laksas I’ve had. The soft bean curd puffs had soaked up the broth nicely, and the dish included an egg and tender chicken breast. Overall, a satisfying bowl.

Go here for entirely authentic Singapore food. We loved every bite and had a lovely chat with the nice owner. Both our dishes were outstanding, completely different and authentic. The menu holds a large variety of dishes for every taste. We’ll be back whenever we get to visit Australia and Tassie again. Thank you for your kind service and the great food.

Never expect i am able to eat such delicious Asian dishes in Hobart, during our 2 days stay in Hobart city, we tried their Hainanese Chicken Rice, Seafood Tomyam and rice, Nasi Lemak Sambal Ayam, Sambal Fried Bee Hoon, Fried Keow Teow, all the taste just like we ate the foods in Singapore and Malaysia 😋😋. Really highly recommended to come this restaurant if you visiting Hobart.

Yelp
The photos brought me here, the chicken bones sent me away. That's my one-line review, but when have I ever left it just at that? The service was friendly and happy to recommend a drink to me--something warm for a cold day, I ended up with a yuanyang. It's a magical blend of coffee and tea and I was surprised by how tasty it was but also because it cost $5... yeah, nah. I ordered the chicken curry because I am a sucker for an Asian chicken curry, but my past experience has been entirely with Japanese curries, so I really should say that I'm a sucker for Japanese chicken curries. Then again, when I queried the crazy amount of bones in my curry with a Singaporean friend, she said that was the cheap way of doing a curry. Seriously, for the bulk of the curry I received, at least half of it was bone. The roti prana was delicious with the curry sauce but there's no chance I'll be ordering the chicken curry again. Not at Kopitiam, anyway. I'm not ready to cross it off the list, but my first visit was a disappointment. Here's hoping another visit will result in a less boneriffic (or at least boneriffic in a different sense) meal. I also really wanna get at that dessert cabinet, so...

Yelp
I spotted this place just off the main shopping street - thought it worth a shot. Great service. I ordered Nasi Lemak with sandal shrimp. Cooked to order and served with an icy Singapore milk tea. The peanut and Ikan bilis were crispy toasted, delicious on top of the coconut rice. The sambal was spicy and strongly flavoured - as per the sever's caution. Ho ho sek!

Yelp
Alas, they were sold out of Hainanese Chicken Rice by the time I got there an hour before they closed, but managed to enjoy some Nasi Lemak in its place. Always happy for a taste of Singapore wherever I am in the world, and these guys can deliver that. :-)

Yelp
Sometimes, in a smaller city, you don't expect this kind of specialist street food to be true to tone. But here that is not the case! This is a great small, homey place that does it well. I has Nasi Lemak with chicken wings- and this was fresh, crisp, great ilan bilis and the rice coconutty. The sambal was excellent. My friends Hai Nan chick came without broth, but very tasty. The fresh juices are great value, and the staff friendly. Highly reccomend.

Yelp
Clean place with a small menu. Portion is smaller than usual. Taste wise range from average to below average. Had something better elsewhere.

Yelp
Love the street style food, bones are flavour. Very authentic, and as long as the are no chicken feet in my curry I will be back!
