9 Best All-inclusive Resorts in Tulum

"With fewer than 100 rooms, this is one of the most intimately sized all-inclusive resorts you can book in Mexico — and that's just how guests of Kore Tulum like it. Kore sits right at the crossroads of the bustling Tulum town and the beachy Hotel Zone." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Our room was spacious and clean. The spa was lovely and the 2 massages I had were great. I was dubious about booking when reading the reviews but glad I did. Yes it needs tlc but the good far out ways the bad. The only big negative for us was the lack off variety of food. It was the same limited menu every day and not everything was always available.

Kore Tulum Retreat & Spa Resort truly exceeded our expectations! From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly safe and well cared for, especially with the national guard stationed right outside the resort. It provided an extra level of reassurance that made our stay even more relaxing. The food was absolutely phenomenal—fresh, authentic Mexican cuisine that delighted our taste buds with every meal. The entertainment was equally memorable, especially the unique Mayan healing and blessing ceremony, which was both fascinating and spiritually uplifting. For those looking to explore beyond the resort, there are free bike rentals available, which we used to visit Jaguar National Park. The beaches there are absolutely breathtaking! Just 15 minutes away, you’ll also find some impressive archaeological sites that are perfect for a bit of culture and history. This resort truly has everything for a perfect getaway, and we are already thinking of returning in May. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a blend of relaxation, adventure, and authentic Mexican experiences!

RUN!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. Everything the previous reviewer Sarah K said was 100% our experience as well. I traveled here with three other women for my birthday celebration. The website pictures are a total lie. There was black mold on one of our rooms and a musty smell that made all of our throats burn. We wanted to give the whole resort a chance and we would just change the musty room. Our walk around the place only made it worse. There was no bottled water, just huge jugs randomly placed around where you had to bring your own cup to fill water. Literally the buildings were crumbling. No effort to clean the glass mirrors in the bathrooms that were in the lobby. It’s December so there were cheap Holiday decorations thrown about that made no sense. The whole resort was depressing so we spent 3hrs googling where we should go (and that’s after a 12 hours of traveling). Called a cab to another resort and left. Absolutely terrible. The front desk people were actually pretty helpful and understanding as they said this happens quite a lot. A Refund is in the works.

Kore Tulum||We have stayed at Kore Tulum for 10 out of the past 13 years. This year the overall mismanagement, lack of staff training, serious reduction in the quality and availability of food and services makes Kore Tulum no longer a desirable resort. We are not the only critics. We have talked to other guests (new and returners) who are equally appalled (and saddened) by what appears to be management’s decision to virtually abandon the hotel.||We stayed in a wonderful suite each year. This year, unlike all earlier years, we had to wait 3 hours they said were needed to clean it. It usually takes 40 minutes for their most thorough cleaning.|Some specifics: at many lunches there is no menu – just an offering of 3-4 things. The quality of the food available is poor. There are few services -- yoga, etc. that were originally provided) Overall, the staff are nice but many lack the training to provide the level of service expected for what we are paying. If there is a manager, we have never seen him or her; there is no indication of competent oversight -- no one to talk to about our concerns – with the exception of the very bright woman at the main desk.||Some suggest the current manager is taking money off the top and I can believe this. |We have loved Kore Tulum’s setting and are very sad to lose it as our annual December vacation. We very much hope that the owners and management decide to invest, hire excellent new management, train staff and maintain the facility so that all your guests return and enjoy Kore Tulum again. If not, close it down instead of offering guests something that is never delivered.| |Bye to what was a very good establishment in previous years. It will take a lot to fix up this place and win back all the customers lost this year. It is sad.

Do NOT stay here!!!! My friend and I came and stayed here on a Groupon, super low price and we found out very quickly as to why. This may have been a really awesome place at some point but it is falling apart quite literally. The rooms have black mold, stained sheets, and for a day & a half, no running water. The staff was not the friendliest and they were understaffed for some of the time to the point where people were making their own drinks behind the only one pool bar. The liquor options are bottom shelf. There is only one restaurant and the food all tastes the same, like burnt freezer. Nasty! The breakfast was the only thing potable in my opinion as well as others around. Speaking of people, the place was DEAD. There’s no beach to lay out on or swim in. The sun beds were made up only one of the 5 days we were there. The rest, falling apart and unusable. The pool is nice and refreshing. The hot tubs aren’t hot at all. The pool and hot tub also closed at 7 according to one person and then they were open later the next day. Zero consistency with the staff responses. Everything on the website it states they have, they don’t. The spa packages come with use of the amenities inside the spa however the steam room wouldn’t turn on, the hot tub was ice cold and the sauna wasn’t up to temp. It rained for a day we were there and the roof in our balcony leaked, I mean POURED out into the already unusable jacuzzi that’s out there. I could literally go on forever about how awful the place was. Please spend a little more money, and go somewhere else after reading reviews.

I made a reservation on their website. It was clearly stating it was full refundable, if cancelled 14 days prior to arrival. I changed my mind and wanted time to reconsider, so I cancelled the reservation two days later (almost a month proior to arrival). The booking was fully charged on my credit card and was still not reversed, two weeks later. When I contacted the hotel (reservations@koretulum.com) to ask them when I will receive my refund, I was told it’s a process that takes 90 days, and the Kore Tulum rep suggested me to dispute the charges with my credit card, if I wanted my money back faster. I consider this unacceptable. People should be aware that their « full refundable policy » is in fact a « we will see in 90 day, if you still remember ». It does feel like a scam, be aware.

I am literally writing this on real time as I sit in the restaurant. Let’s just get right to it. The food is NOT horrible, it’s not 5 star. Stick to the more Mexican style dishes and you’ll have a better meal. It’s like expecting going to Korea and expecting them to cook you an amazing pizza. The western world is so accustomed to perfection that they forget that small imperfections will not ruin your whole trip. I did read the reviews AFTER I booked my trip and I almost sh!t my pants in fear. This is my second time in Mexico first was cancun. This little beautiful seaside town is so friendly, the locals are helpful and the staff is amazing. The guys at the pool are so fun and friendly. The rooms are NOT dirty. If you have an issue like towels or cleanliness just talk to someone and they will give you what you need. Our shower got plugged and they fixed it the same day. Please remember people this is not the the developed countries of privilege we all come and maybe don’t fall victim to reading about all the first world problems people are complaining about. The hotel itself is beautiful and large full of beautiful animals. My room is gorgeous. (But I’ve also stayed in fricken huts with mosquito nets so I’d never complain like some of these reviews). There is a very very very helpful lady at the front desk who speaks great English and she is great. I’m so sorry for forgetting her name I’ve just met so many people. She will tell you everyrhing you need to know. Taxis get expensive. Today I will be biking downtown to save some money. As far as downtown it’s gorgeous and fun and safe and I’m a woman alone. Only recommendation is don’t get too drunk and don’t be rude and you will be treated with respect. You can bartar prices which I highly recommend. Obviously many people think we are all rich gringos and I’m just a broke traveller that saved up for this trip. So yes barter prices the best you can. Not having a beach on the property made zero impact on my trip. I sat at the sea wall and had waves crash at me. It was fabulous. I really am enjoying my stay here and the reviews had me terrified for my life. One suggestion I have for the hotel - whether a person books straight through you or a third party- please try and respond. It took me many emails and many complaints with Expedia to finally get through to someone to sort a few things out. That is literally my ONLY suggestion. Is better communication to make upcoming guests feel at ease. Otherwise thank you for the wonderful stay and making my 30th birthday one to remember
