Hidden gem of a restaurant, with very tasty food and also a drink menu. It’s a hybrid hot pot and traditional cuisine Korean restaurant. K-Pop music and diverse crowd. Be patient because there was only one server. Worth the wait. Ample parking.

Google
Best Authentic Korean food!! I cannot describe how fantastic the flavors were! Just omg. So good. So good. This was such a great experience and I can't wait to go back! They also have a parking lot in case anyone is curious about driving into Cleveland! Thank you for a great meal!

Google
THE BEST!!! I have come here twice, once in January 2024 and then October 2024. First time I shared the Boodae Jigae with my partner and it was plenty of food for the two of us. Some of the best Korean ramen I’ve ever had and made me crave it so much we came back. Then second visit, i ordered haemul pajeon and kimchi jigae. Perfect amount of spice with plenty of quality kimchi and stayed nice and hot the entire time it took me to eat it. The pork was great too and I’m not even a fan of pork most of the time. The haemul pajeon was so delicious and more than enough for two people. Better to share with 4 people so that way each person gets 2 pieces. Service was quick and kind too both times. I love this place and wouldn’t mind driving 40 min again for the food! (P.S. the pickled assortment is fantastic!! Especially the cucumbers!)

Google
Absolutely loved the food here! I'm not an experienced Korean barbecue enthusiast, but this was definitely a quality experience! My friends did all the ordering for me, so I can't attest to the quality of specific dishes or choices, but I can say that I liked everything that I ate. For just specifically Korean barbecue (as in the kind that you cook at your table), there were only two options, so they made that simple for you. We also ordered several different dishes for the table, various proteins mixed in delicious sauces and paired with seasoned vegetables. The restaurant was on the smaller side, but it easily sat our party of 9. Service was fast and attentive.

Wow, what a gem for Cleveland this place is great . I ordered takeout, and it was great , very neatly packed . I ordered number 13, which is a fried pork with steamed rice and came with a nice little assortment of pickled vegetables. The inside is super cozy , and decor nice . If you never eaten here you must try a wide assortment of Korean dishes on the menu .This is the real deal, and if you're visiting Cleveland, just a short Uber ride from Downtown.

Google
A very good korean restaurant. The food was great, and the service was nice too. The place is very busy during peak hours, but it’s definitely worth a visit. I highly recommend the naengmyeon, i think its very authentic. Lot’s of parking outside of the restaurant.

Google
Yum! We stumbled upon this place after stopping by Kim’s convenience next door. Dinner here was great! Prices were not bad for the insanely large amount of food that you get. The food was super filling and tasty. We ordered lumbar, steamed eggs, tteokboki, ramen soup with spam and hotdogs (#5), and another noodle and soup dish. Staff was attentive. Music was on point! Everything that played is what’s on my work playlist. Had an amazing experience and will be coming back. Can’t wait to try their other options. So many options too!

Google
I liked the food, and the service was great. It’s small inside, and you might need to wait to be seated. I went there specifically for the cook-it-yourself experience, but we were seated at a table without a grill. I was a little disappointed, but please make sure you’re seated correctly. We enjoyed our food, of course. I can tell it’s a hidden gem. We had Kimbob, Mandu Gui, Bibimbap, and Bulgogi. The price was a little higher than expected.

Yelp
Adding this place to one of my Korean food go to spot! This place gets busy during peak hours so make sure you go early or make a reservation. It looks like only a duo running the restaurant. Food was served relatively quickly and tasted delicious! They also offer KBBQ and I look forward in coming back to try that next.

Yelp
As a Korean American, I will say I'm incredibly disappointed with the food that was offered. I have a food vlog and I'd normally post my positive thoughts, but I have to rate this a 2. The banchan wasn't a huge selection, and I was disappointed it was simplistic side dishes. The Korean Fried Pork Dumplings was the reason why we rated it a 2 star, cause it had a good start. I ordered the Kalbi & Soondubu Jigae - my two ultimate favorites normally. Today, the soup had no egg, no veggies, and was so powerful in seafood flavoring, that it really took away the idea of tofu soup. The Kalbi was over cooked, rubbery, and they gave us a knife to cut the meat. I asked for scissors to cut the Kalbi and the server said they didn't have any. With a blank face, I was so confused but I said okay. But then moments later, he returned with tongs & scissors. My partner ordered the fried chicken with sweet & sour sauce. I had the expectation that it was my aunt would make: fried chicken drenched in thick sweet bbq sauce. It was not that. We were offered Chinese style chicken with sweet & sour sauce. Like how you eat Hong Kong noodles. After reading a handful of reviews, I will say by being bias, the midwesterns are missing out on authentic Korean food. I say this from being from the west coast and growing up in the Silicon Valley as well. Sorry, but this is not my top recommendation for my friends who need Korean food.

Yelp
I visited for dinner in late October 2024 with fellow Yelper, Christina P. We were both starving because we had just come from a private group salsa dance class at Viva Dance Studio across the street. Suffice it to say, I was ready to eat. While I've traveled to China before but not South Korea, I generally love Asian food including Korean food. FOOD -- Lots to choose from on their menu. I ordered the number 37 on the menu which is the Dolsot Bibim Bab ($14.99) -- hot pot of rice topped with assorted vegetables, chopped beef, and fried egg (egg cooks in hot pot when you mix it in) plus served with red chili paste sauce. YES, YES, YES. Gimme, gimme, gimme more. The Doltsot Bibim Bab (no. 37 on the menu) was absolutely delicious and served HOT. The addition of the red chili paste, once mixed in, really brings out the flavour of the whole dish. If you like rice and meat then order the Doltsot Bibim Bab. I recommend this restaurant and I'll definitely be back. **** GOAL of 150 reviews in 2024 - 125/150 total reviews in 2024 - 774 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 8 December 2024

Yelp
One of my favorite Korean BBQ The food is excellent we have only had the BBQ and the Heamul Pajun "flour pancake" and I am sure the other menu items are just as delicious. The service is excellent, the staff does not socialize with the guests at least in my experience but that says to me they are taking care of the customers. The location is a small shopping center next to a Korean grocery the restaurant is clean with Korean decor and Korean music in the background. One of favorite meals.

Yelp
I was craving Korean food so we decided to dine in here. For appetizers, my boyfriend and I shared Korean fried potstickers. For entrees, we ordered japchae, Korean chicken dakqui and beef short rib soup. The potstickers were good. Wish there were a little bit more meat fillings. Japchae was bit salty for my taste. The dakqui was surprisedly good. It had a nice char and marinated well. I loved their beef short rib soup because it was so homey and delicious. The broth was clear and umami. Of course, they gave us some side dishes. The kimchi tasted a bit funky for me. Maybe they had different style fermenting it. My favorite side dishes were the sweet potatoes and broccoli. They were pretty refreshing. Overall, we were happy to find a Korean place we like here. Will definitely come back.

Yelp
I flew into CLE at around 9 pm so most dinner options were closed, but I managed to order Korea House to my hotel right before they stopped accepting orders. I was craving a warm soup because it was so snowy, so I ordered the sundubu. Unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. No issues with delivery, arrived promptly with no problems. The soup, however, was one of the most bland/underseasoned sundubus I've ever had. Usually, the soup is red in color, but my broth was mainly clear with a slight rim of red oil on top. For the most part, this felt like a tofu and onion soup, with a dash of seafood. I've never seen a sundubu with so many onions? But I felt like they made up the majority of my bowl. This sundubu left much to be desired. Came with a container of white rice, no notes.

Yelp
Great Korean restaurant around Cleveland area. Great atmosphere and service. We ordered their lunch special got a Kalbi and bulgogi. Also got to try their Korean pancakes. Foods were delicious and came out pretty quick.

Nicole S.

Yelp
Phenomenal!!! The bibimbap was amazing! I loved the crispy rice my husband raves about the fried tofu!! This will be a regular place for us!

Briana N.

Yelp
Honestly, one of the best spots for Korean food that I've had in Cleveland! The servers were so nice and so attentive, and I just really like the vibe inside of the restaurant. The sides were so good! My personal favorite was the cucumbers. Even though I know they're all pickled, everything just tasted so fresh. We also got the ggang dwenjang and the sundubu which both came out hot and steaming with a bowl of rice. The ggang dwenjang really hit the spot, and it was salty in all the best ways. The sundubu was pretty good too. They didn't skimp on the seafood at all, but I do wish it came with an egg. I'd love to go back and try some appetizers and kbbq!

Yelp
Not the best area. Not the most romantic of restaurants. But the food is great. Focus on the food and you will love this place.

Yasuo M.

Yelp
Good Korean food in Cleveland. Courteous service. Good ambiance. We were recommended by the local foodie and definitely was better than we expected. Second time to dine here and first time for lunch. Was about $45 for two people including tip.

Yelp
Korea house really does an excellent job of giving that home style cooking feel to Korean food. I would recommend trying to call to make a reservation if you can, as they definitely get very busy on both weekends and weekdays. The space is not the largest, so they fill up quickly. I shared a dinner for two persons, jajangmyeon, and doenjang jjigae with four people, which was the perfect amount of food. The bulgogi and ssam were both so delicious and tender, and very well seasoned. The jajangmyeon was also excellent: there was enough sauce to properly, cook the noodles, which were an excellent texture. The flavoring is a little bit on the sweeter side, but overall very true to form. The doenjang jjigae has a more mild flavor if that's what you prefer, and was a great accompaniment to the heavier meets that we had. It was also wonderful as it was quite cold outside! I was highly impressed with how quickly the food came out once we ordered! It's definitely harder to get the attention of the staff when they're really busy, and I have the impression that this place is run by a family, but they still do a great job!

Yelp
Every once in a while I get a huge craving for Korean food, and when that happens I order from Korea House. I primarily like to carry-out or get delivery from here, but when my most recent craving hit I was able to convince two friends to go in with me for an early dinner, and was pleasantly surprised to find out that you get a free steamed egg when you dine in! We ordered quite a few dishes to share. My personal favorites are the kimbap and kimchi tofu, but I also like their japchae (which is surprising since it's a dish I normally don't love). Some of their items (like the tteokbokki and mandu) aren't my favorite, but if you are going with a group, they are certainly crowd pleasers and good options to share. I personally think it's a bit pricier than what I would expect, but I suppose this is to be expected since most items we ordered had beef in it. I thought overall the service was good - when we went, they forgot to bring our side dishes with our bulgogi and were very apologetic about it even though it wasn't a big deal at all. I can't speak to the authenticity of the food but this is definitely a place I'll continue to order from and bring friends to, even though I find it to be a bit pricey.

Yelp
Whole in the wall place that has delicious food and a friendly staff! My best friend and I love Korean food and have tried places in multiple states and this is one of the best! My husband (who is a very picky eater) loved the food here. From the outside it does not look like much but everything else is a 5/5!

Michael F. P.

Yelp
Authentic Korean BBQ. We loved the pork belly and the short ribs and kept ordering more. All the side dishes and the steamed egg were delicious too. The kids ate so much and enjoyed grilling at the table. The owners were super friendly. ...and I could practice speaking some Korean. Will definitely go back next time we're visiting Cleveland.

Leah M.

Yelp
This is me trying Korean food for the first time and i LOVED IT.... We shared 2 entrees: the deep fried chicken stir fry w/ vegetables in the sweet and spicy sauce and the stir fried squid They bring you vegetables as appetizers ( kimchi, cucumbers, lettuce, green beans) lovely experience! I will return!!

Sherrie M.

Yelp
Korea House is one of the best restaurants around Cleveland. I've never been there, but have ordered three times delivery. Each time the food, from 10+ miles away, arrives in great condition due to proper packaging. But, it's the food itself that is a shining star. Whom ever the chef, wow! Absolutely gifted and I hope you don't change a single thing. So far I have tried the tofu balls, Heamul Pajun, The Real KPC pork dish, Dwenjang Jigae, Kalbee Gui (incredible cut of beef bbq) along with "side dishes" and "real wrap set" and a side of garlic soy.Sadly I devoured the food before pics. Will get some next time I order.

Dionte C.

Yelp
This place was absolutely delicious, me and my cousins loved how spicy some of the food was! It wasn't that spicy but it was still good! The Number 5 (the noodles) were sooo good, had a nice kick to them but weren't that spicy, and the service was also good!

Pam Pam G.

Yelp
Came with a group of 4 friends, which was perfect for the dinner for 4 combo. It was so good and came with a lot of food!! The meat was perfectly marinated and cooked. The japchae was delicious and came with a large portion. We had a great time. One hiccup was that we were given a kimchi pancake, which we assumed was part of the combo, so we ate it. We later realized the pancake was NOT included and we were charged for it even though we didn't order it. The workers were super apologetic and understanding and took the pancake off our bill. Good service! Would highly recommend if you're craving Korean- definitely legit (my Korean friend approved) and the best Korean food I've had in Cleveland!

Aisha H.

Yelp
Great service! I had a party of 16 and they maintained great service and provided us with a party room. The food was really good.

Olivia R.

Yelp
This is the best Korean restaurant in Cleveland you will not regret trying it. The space is on the smaller side but there are always people enjoying the food so you know it's worth it. Food: Everything I've tried has been fantastic. Whether you're in the mood for Korean BBQ or eating off the dinner menu, you will not be dissapointed. Recommendations: 1. You have to try the BBQ at least once. I prefer the pork belly and the bonchon provided gives you plenty of options to make your own lettuce wraps. 2. If you're in the mood for rice, try the dolsot bi bim bop. It's rice with vegetables and in an earthenware pot. It creates an amazing crunchy bottom of the rice that's a great way to finish the meal. 3. Noodle anyone? Jajangmyeon is the only answer. Noodles with black bean sauce and little bits of meat, veg, and a perfect savory/sweet sauce. The chunks of potato in it is 100% my favorite part. 4. Soup? The budae jjigae (aka: Army Base Stew) is a mix of luncheon meat, hot dogs, ramen, cheese, rice cakes, and meat. In a super spicy sauce it's the perfect accompaniment to a steaming hot bowl of white rice. Everybody who works at Korea House is super friendly and always answer any questions you may have about the food. If you've never tried Korean food, this is the place to do it.

Yelp
Brought my mom up to the Cleveland Clinic for an appointment. Thankfully, found this gem while searching Yelp for what to eat. OMG! I'm in love. Korean Food is one of my favorite types of cuisine. We do t have that many good Korean Choices in Pittsburgh. I was so happy to find Korea House. It did not disappoint. My mom and I both had the bulgogi lunch and it was phenomenal. So tender and juicy! The beef almost had a sweet flavor to It. It came with fried rice and a dumpling. The rice was cooked perfectly and had peppers and carrots in it along with onions and scallions. The dumpling was so crispy and delicious. You also got Korean Sides that my mom loved. We saw a group cooking their meat at the table. I want to come back with my husband so we can do it. It looked and smelled delicious. You must come here and try this. So authentic and deli table! I'll be dreaming of it for a while and will be back the next time we come to the clinic.

Christian H.

Yelp
Korea House is the best Korean homecooking and KBBQ in Cleveland, hands down! -Mandu Dumplings -Korean Fried Chicken -Spicy Rice Cakes App -Kimbop -Kalbi -Kalbi Sal -Dakqui Chicken -Kalbi Tang Soup -Ssam Baab -Japchae Noodles It is all spectacular!

Yelp
Yum, yum, yum! Knowing that a friend of mine loves Korean food, after a Yelp search, I decided to invite her here. The restaurant has a big parking lot, which is appreciated and is located in Asia town, just east of downtown Cleveland. The restaurant is clean and inviting and has a beautiful mountain mural on the wall. We ate here for lunch on a Weekday and were one of four tables eating at the time. The service was very friendly and prompt. We both ended up ordering the hot bowl bibimbap and were very, very happy with our choice. The food was extremely flavorful and it's just such a delight to eat this dish as the rice gets crispy and you can add in extra pickled veggies and such. I want to come back soon for Korean bbq. I highly recommend checking this spot out for Lunch or dinner!

Tamii C.

Yelp
Used to be one of my favorites until today. The service was horrendous, first we waited over 20 minutes before someone took our order and the place wasn't packed. We spent over 20 minutes trying to flag someone down to pay our check there were only 2 other small tables in there with us. The final straw that made me do my review was at the end we paid our check with cash to leave after not so great service, the woman kept my change then tried to force us to pay more in tips for below subpar service. To forcibly keep someone's change then tried to get them to pay more in undeserved tips is beyond outrageous. I'm well known for being a generous tipper but today they were horrible! I used to be a regular here never seen that girl before but it's the last they'll see of me.

Amy J.

Yelp
Beautiful hot bibimbap. Delicious perfectly sticky white rice. Bulgogi was $20!!! Expensive as usual for the delicacy. It was tender and delicious although strangely came with some bell peppers in addition to onion and carrot strips.

Nick V.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in Cincy. There Dolsot Bibimbap is fabulous! If you've never had it, it comes in a very hot bowl and the rice just gets crispier and crispier!

Lizbeth H.

Yelp
for my first time here, the exterior was a little rough looking.. but when you step inside, there are bamboo decor and a nice hostess waiting to seat you with the menus. my friends come here often, so i let them do the ordering- hahaha i couldnt pronounce some of the plates. i was super impressed by the set up of the food. it was so beautiful, and colorful, and yes of course- it was tastier than any place ive been to!! i would definitely come again, and better prepared. the warm sake is something to try although the soju tastes better for me. the sausage ramen was tasty, and the beef in the lettuce wraps was to die for !!! we had lots of food on the table and much to take home as well!

Roy W.

Yelp
Found this hidden gem and it was really good. The Flavored Saki (Peach) waa amazing!! Didn't know I like Saki that much. Very friendly and attentive servers and the presentation is on point.

Sai C.

Yelp
I ordered to go from here and let me tell you, wow. Wow. It's so good, their fried chicken is so crispy and packaged so carefully so that it doesn't lose that crunch, and the sauces are sweet spicy and pair so well. Will definitely be coming back!

Art J.

Yelp
Well it's interesting to have a Korean restaurant in Cleveland Ohio. I am glad Cleveland is diverse in ethnic cuisine. Anyways this was a great traditional Korean restaurant here in Cleveland compared to Chicago. Food was genuine and the staff was attentive, fast and friendly. If I come back to Cleveland I think of this restaurant next to the Ethiopian restaurant I had yesterday. So far Cleveland has been pretty impressive in regards to diversity of ethnicity for restaurants despite people saying it's such a rust belt City that will never be diverse. I don't believe that

Meiya L.

Yelp
Judging by the appetizers alone, the food is incredible!! We shared amazing cheesy tteokbokki, a scallion veggie pancake that had great taste and texture (crispy on the outside, crunchy on the inside!), and a great fried pork dish. The white rice wasn't quite as fresh but still a solid base! The service was quick and friendly.

A F.

Yelp
Yesssir this is the place to go! Especially after their renovation I give them 5 stars because they really shaped up the place! They now have a BBQ skillet at the tables, so I ordered samgyeopsal and beef. There was also tteokbokki, pancake, kimbap, and bibimbap. Now I personally did not eat the bibimbap but the rest were delicious. The pancake and tteokbokki especially were so good and and partaking in this meal was delightful. Anyways I highly recommend if you want good Korean food that's also at a good price.

Celeste G.

Yelp
I went there with my brother and the food was amazing the meat was delicious!!! The service was also really nice!

Sarah J.

Yelp
This was one of the best dining decisions I made this year. Went out with a group of friends and decided to to have Korean and it was everything you could ask for. The flavors were authentic, the servers were kind, and there were so many choices. It was worth rhe thirty minute drive to this place...we'll be back very VERY soon. Would recommend to everyone .

Vivian H.

Yelp
Love love love this place! This review is a culmination of the countless times I have come here in search of comfort Korean food. They never fail to impress me and out of all the Korean restaurants in the area, I will only come here. My obsession with their Kimchi Jigae is beyond help at this point and it's gotten to the point where the servers already know my preferences and that i like extra tofu- I get it that often! Their banchan is always on point and the steamed egg is addictive. My partner considers himself a japchae connoisseur and he absolutely devours the entire dish everytime. We have brought Korean friends here before and they have raved about the authenticity of their dishes. The place is your classic Asian restaurant and in many ways it's a very comforting, warmly lit place with excellent parking. The servers are always incredible and we have never had a problem with them. It's true that it can get a little hectic during peak mealtimes when every single table is occupied but I think that's more of a representation of how well received this place is than the service. This is easily one of my go to restaurants and I will continue coming here.

Rick L.

Yelp
Exceptional food. Great service. The menu has all the major items that you might want. I really don't have much else to say. The food, great. Hot, perfectly seasoned. Oh, and the prices are very good.

AiVan N.

Yelp
Freakin' love this restaurant! A few things I've tried: - Korean Pork Chop: highly highly recommend. The meat is extremely well seasoned with a charred taste/smell which makes it even more perfect. The portion is also very decent! - Soondubu: good and classic, spicier compared to other restaurants (maybe I'm just soft). Portion is on a smaller side I'd say - Korean BBQ: limited options but each option has a decent size. Better if you go with a lot of people (as it always is with KBBQ). Meat quality + seasoning is probably 6-7 out of 10. I probably would prefer Miega. - Kalbee Tang: very decent portion. Broth is well seasoned. Decent meat! Would recommend!

Vasel G.

Yelp
So today I woke up wishing for something better than the usual stuff I see outside my window. I was bored and ended up talking to my ex wife. I am not sure is "she's always right" works in terms of divorce, but today it was the correct words. It was the best Korean BBQ I've had since moving back to Cleveland. Today I tried the New Real KPC (Korean Pork Chops) and the Kalbee Gui(new style). It was the music I needed to taste to remind me that life is still good. Don't believe me? Try it for yourself. You will not be disappointed.

Kenneth B.

Yelp
We had lunch here. Food was very good. Service is excellent. Ambience is OK, but not special. We both recommend eating here and we will be back.

Lauren B.

Yelp
Great local spot in Asia town! Owned by lovely people and the food is very good. Also good to get delivered!

Vicky B.

Yelp
A small little korean shop thats not very easily spotted on the road. My boyfriend and I were looking for a place for a light lunch and we stumbled upon this place in Asia town. I had seen this place before but never had a chance to try it until now. Theres a parking lot in the back of the building which is nice so you dont have to find street parking in the neighborhood or across the street. Entering the shop, there was about 4 tables taken by groups of people and 1 lady who was serving everyone. She greeted us and invited us to sit at a small 2 person table. She was in the middle of bringing out food for a table behind us so she quickly dropped off their food, put her cart away and then came back to us to see if we were ready to order. I ordered the Udon soup and my boyfriend ordered the lunch special bulgogi plate with fried rice. The food came out in a good amount of time, I'd say 10 minutes (?) With sides. I asked for chili oil because i wanted my soup alittle spicy but the shop didnt carry any. Instead she brought me some chili powder that had little minced up jalepeno pieces (no seeds) in it. I took a good spoon full and added to my soup to try. (It wasnt spicy at all). The soup itself was flavorful (just missing the kick of spice) with lots of vegetables like mushrooms and greens. The udon noodles were a good chewy texture that I enjoy too. The whole meal was about $30. My udon was expensive as it wasnt the lunch special. But everything tasted ok and its comfort food that I could come back and enjoy. The place is small and they do have 4 tables that are ready to grill meat if thats something desired. Due to the small space, I would not recommend this place for large groups of 10+. Tables seat about 4 people and not alot of room to combine tables without it being alittle bit of a hassle. For a lunch service, service was good and timely. The lady was good at bringing everything out and checking on our table once before bringing the bill. Great place for comfort food and to get something warm for those cold days!

Clare D.

Yelp
The restaurant exactly followed my requests to make the Bibimbab vegan -- excluding the egg and any animal products. Amazing! This was hugely appreciated! The effort and preparation that went into each vegetable topping was apparent from the first bite (each was very uniquely and deliciously seasoned), and the vegetables tasted very fresh. The tofu wasn't fried (it seemed to be steamed), and the rice was fluffy and hot. Overall, this was a very healthy, fresh, and vegan-friendly dinner. I would recommend that the restaurant consider adding vegan appetizers to their menu; I was looking to order one but couldn't find a vegan option.

Jenny L.

Yelp
My favorite Korean restaurant in Cleveland (out of the 5 or so that we have)! I have been here a number of times this year already and haven't been disappointed yet. The steamed egg banchan is to die for and I find myself wanting to order an extra one. I typically order from the family dinner set since it allows me to try a variety of foods. My recommendations include the kalbee, japchae, kimbop and sundubu. Rest assured you will be satisfied with your meal with whatever you decide on!

Ayumi S.

Yelp
I am a weekly business traveler to Cleveland. This is by far the best Korean restaurant I have found in the Cleveland area. I compare everything to my favorite Korean restaurants in Southern California. The banchan is always fresh and the service is very nice and efficient. I love their dolsot bibimbap and their savory pancake! I also ask for their steamed egg even though it's not on the menu. Delicious!

Jason C.

Yelp
On my way back to mitten state, stopped by to get my Korean filling. I have been to two other popular Korean restaurants, so decided to switch it up a bit and try this place. We were seated in non-bbq table, after reviewing the menu, we went with the following: - Ddukbokki (spicy rice cake) - Kalbi Tang (Short ribs soup) - Jeyukgui (their version of spicy pork) I like that they leave pitcher of water on the table, call it a convenience for the server or us, it was nice not to ask for refills and just fill up the cup yourself. When we got there, there was only one server and after a while, a lady took over as the main server and the gentleman was the backup. We got the banchans (Side dishes) first and also got free steamed egg. Like Seoul Garden, they offer free steamed egg for all orders. As for their banchans goes, they are ok, not the best, definitely rising grill out shines them when it comes to banchan area. Ddukbooki - Good, it came with a lot of veggies, meat and fish cakes. It wasn't too spicy and hit the spot after few days without any Korean food. Not sure it's worth $10, but worth trying at least once. Kalbi Tang - very disappointed in this dish. It should be called Korean Eggdrop soup. They had 5-6 pieces of bone meat in the soup and no other slices of beef. The bone meats were the leftover from the LA Kalbi and it had more fat then meat and tough to eat. I would recommend you avoid this if you can. As for the flavor, your standard taste, nothing special. Jeyukgui (Spicy Pork) - very Americanized dish. Every restaurant uses different cuts of the pork, here they use samgulsal (pork belly). The dish itself was decent, there was no "wow" factor and for $17, it was okay. The meat to veggie ratio was like 40:60, more veggies then meat itself. Overall, decent place, the service was decent, majority of the clientele here were non-Koreans, saw more non-Asians, then Asian folks. While not in my top, definitely work a visit. One down side to this place, they do offer BBQ, but they have no separate ventilation system above each tables, so when they have customers doing BBQ, the whole place will smell like BBQ and smoky.

Yelp
It has been years since we dined here. We recently went back just because they have several dishes that other K restaurants in the area don't. They're busy as usual. I like the fact that they renovated the place and it was a cleaner and fresher look. There are bbq tables where you can grill meat at the table. We ordered kimbob, mandu, tteokboki, seafood pancake, kalbee, japchae, ssam bab, bulgogi, sundubu and bibim nangmyun. Meals are accompanied banchan (side dishes) and a steamed egg soup (gyeran jjim). While the portions are much smaller (for the price) compared to other K-restaurants, everything tasted very good especially the bibim nangmyun and ssam bab. The ssam bab was a bit salty by itself so don't top it with too much bean paste sauce. The bibim nangmyun was definitely my favorite! It was spicy and tangy, and so refreshing. I wish they offer a bigger portion and more variety of side dishes. I hate to wave down the servers to ask for more side dishes. Cons: small portions. They charged $3 for an extra rice! It's a bit much imo. Also, seatings are limited and wait can be long on the weekends. Pros: more choices on the menu compared to other places. Overall, we like this place and will come back.

Yelp
Really delicious, heartwarming, comfort food! The feel of the place was snuggly and warm on a winters day. The spread of pickled objects was full of delicious (the spicy pickled apples was an odd one for sure, however). Service was a bit slow due to being slammed, but once we were seated we had few complaints. Friendly staff, interesting customers
