Had sooo much fun! It was around 15 euro per person I believe. But you can go as long as you want to! If you go down you need to go back up with the “train”. Becareful if you have a weak back. This could make it worst because of the bumpy ride on the hill.

2.1 km of downhill sledging - rent you own 🛷 for the day and take as many trips as you like. You take the train back up to the top. You will surely find enough speed and likely a crash or two. 8-9 min ride and 15 min back up again. We did it on a weekday afternoon and had very little traffic.

Exciting and fun experience if you want to do sledding! They have a restaurant where you can have a break and recharge batteries. You can rent the sled and they give you a security helmet. Have to be careful and avoid to stop while you are sledding since people can crush against you unintentionally.

I was first time and had absolute blast, awesome activity with good dose of adrenaline and fun, I highly recommend to anyone, sled renting relatively cheap (includes the helmet as well). If you are in Oslo in winter and the snow conditions are right, don't hesitate and go try it. Transport from Oslo city centre very easy. The view from the top is amazing, btw.

This place is so good! Around £10 for a wooden sleigh, you can go as many times as you want just get a 24 hours train ticket which is around £10 but to be honest my ticket wasn’t checked once

The sled experience was sooo fun! One if the best experiences and a MUST do in norway. Don’t expect it to be that easy ride. It is fast, and you should be careful you can harm yourself. There are some places where you can hit trees and fall down in a small valley! There are no staff to guide you through the start of the ride. Nobody gave us advice of renting a helmet nobody gave us some tips and recommendation, basically they give you the sled and that’s it. On the way down no security or safety staff are on the way and I think they should take this ride more seriously since it can be dangerous ( add safety staff as well and add safety materials on both sides of the sled ). There is a risk of injury. Not recommended for children and elderly and people with back pain. Rent a helmet, take the ride seriously and enjoy! It takes about 10min to get down, easy to rent the sled and not very expensive about 15USD per person. You can do it again as much as you want without paying again the 15USD. Once you reach the bottom, A train will get you back on the top ( last station ).

All Sled rental places were closed, with absolutely zero warning online. We checked the site in advance to ensure it'd be open, it said it would be from 10am so when we arrived and they were all closed, we were left with nothing to do but aimlessly wonder around, and purchase some overpriced pastries from the nearby café.

Google
Amazing sledging experience, easy to rent the sledges at c. 130NOK per person. Just follow the path down if you are arriving from the T-Bane and you’ll see the signs to rent a sledge. Follow the path further down past the restaurant for the sledge path. Watch out for the corners as you do build up some speed!!

Yelp
This place is amazing! You rent a sledge and then it's 2km ride down the hill. Then T-bane back up and enjoy the ride!

Yelp
I had a bloody good time doing this. I was flying much faster then I imagined. Beginners, beware! There are a few sharp curves that had us tumbling for our lives. Also, I would ensure you are fully dressed for this, waterproof-ish clothes is a must:)

Yelp
This was the location of the Bob Sleigh run for the 1952 Winter Olymics held in Oslo, its has now been turned into a toboggan run for sledging in the winter months. You can hire sledges at the top not far from Frognerseteren metro station and sledge down the 2000m course to Midtstuen station where you can hop back on the train to the top again. (You can get a ticket which means you can keep riding the train all day) I would highly recommend heading up there if your in Oslo when there is snow on the ground. It is so much fun and we kept going all day until my husband got ill as he wasn't wearing water proof gear so got extremely cold. But as long as you dress for it it's fantastic. The views from the top are breath taking and in amongst the trees you could be in C.S Lewis' Narnia. The hire for the sledges was reasonable especially considering you can keep going all day. As we got handed our sledges we nervously asked 'where's the break', to which they laughed and proceeded to tell us the only controls you have are your feet, 'ahh' we thought so that's why we had to sign a waver saying they were not responsible in the event of injury! The course apparently takes 8-10 minutes but it seems longer, maybe its just because we were a little unnerved by what seemed like sheer drops to one side at points, so kept breaking, or maybe because it was so exhilarating it seemed to make time slow down. And despite our initial nerves we both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This is definitely not just for children; adults can have a lot of fun too. If you are in need of some warm refreshments there is a delightful restaurant at the top of the run serving hot food although as with all Oslo restaurants food is expensive and here was no exception; a bowl of soup, bread roll and coffee each, set us back about £20 ( just don't convert back into pounds so you can actually enjoy your food). Having said that the chance to sit in front of the roaring fire in their dinning area was money well spent. Once your all warmed up and dried off you can head back for some more sledging, or indeed cross country skiing which was also available, or if you've had enough its just a short walk back up a bit of a steep slippery hill to the metro station you arrived at, which takes you back into the centre of Oslo.
