We visited Korketrekkeren today expecting a fun and cozy family sledding experience, as it’s recommended in many guides. Unfortunately, the reality was very different.
Getting there by metro already felt like a warning sign - about 15 minutes before the final station, the train filled up with an enormous number of teenagers and kids with sleds. Later we learned that after each ride (which lasts only about 10 minutes), you have to take the train back up, and trains run only every 15 minutes. There are no lifts or organized system, which already creates crowding.
When we arrived, there were no clear signs showing where to go, where the rental is, or where the track starts. No staff, no guidance, just a huge, chaotic crowd.
The path downhill to the rental/main area was extremely icy, basically polished ice, with no handrails or safety measures. You’re literally walking down a steep slope on ice. I fell badly and hit my hip and shoulder. It was painful enough that I’m still limping.
At the bottom, things were even more chaotic. The rental area was disorganized, with no clear system. Teenagers were sledding everywhere, including on the pedestrian path, crashing into people. No supervision, no safety control, just complete chaos.
It honestly felt unsafe rather than fun. For a place that attracts so many families and children, there should really be better organization, staff presence, signage, and basic safety measures.
The nature around is beautiful, yes, but safety and structure matter more. Sadly, we left without even managing to rent sleds.
Would not recommend unless the management seriously improves organization and safety.
