Excellent place for a summer visit and to celebrate the Midsummer. Leksand village and Dalarna area offers the best Midsummer celebrations in Sweden. I loved our stay in this atmospheric beautiful old manor with a wonderful garden. The room was spacious and nicely-decorated. Both the traditional Midsummer celebration and the Midsummer music festival were very close to this hotel. We had a 3-night Midsummer package which included breakfast and dinner made of Swedish specialties everyday, which which were delicious. The staff were very nice. ||We just wish that there had been someone at reception during checkout time. It would be a nice way to say farewell to guests. Such a small gesture, but it makes the experience so much better. After all this is a hotel, not a hostel and the package cost 1000€ for 3 nights. I'm not sure how many stars they aim to be as their advertising is a bit mixed, but possibly 3 and such a gesture would certainly be fitting at this price level.

Our family of 11 people celebrated a significant birthday at Korstappan. The rooms are very individual in character, most do not have a view of Lake Siljan but are charming anyway. Breakfast is phenomenal - best I've seen in Sweden. Lots of choice, fresh cold cuts and cheeses including local delicacies. Great coffee - breads of all sorts including gluten-free. .... Dinners are wonderful. There is clearly a chef who cares about how food is prepared and served. ... There are ample common spaces to sit and relax including some on each floor. There are also outdoor spaces and you can walk across a large lawn down to a beach for swimming. Unfortunately there is some construction going on next door to the hotel. We stayed on a weekend, so there was no work being done - but when it's finished, it will somewhat spoil the lovely retreat by having what seem to be a number of buildings quite close to the Herrgard.

We travelled to the Dalarna region of Sweden to cross country ski in the VasaLoppet races and chose this wonderful manor for our base. They were very helpful in helping us book the best package for our trip prior to arrival and while we were there were very helpful in arranging hockey tickets and recommending places to see and things to experience. The breakfasts were excellent and dinners very creative. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

My husband and I were in Sweden for midsummer and wanted to try to experience it like locals. After a lot of research, we decided on Korstappans Herrgard. We booked a midsummer package, which included 3 nights stay, breakfast, dinner, and a midsummer buffet.||||Everyone at the hotel was very kind and helpful. They made us feel welcome, even though we weren't the usual clientele (we were much younger and clearly tourists). The manor and surrounding grounds were beautiful.||||The location is great. It's a short walk to the lake, and about a 15 minute walk to the center of town. We had a car so we could easily explore the other towns, which we would recommend.||||The food was amazing. The breakfast buffet featured a wide spread of choices, and our included dinners were amazing as well. The midsummer buffet was delicious. Everything we ate was prepared and presented beautifully.||||Now, the one downfall: our room. While the main manor was beautiful, we booked a room in the north wing (which is a separate building) because it was less expensive. After seeing the manor, we were a little disappointed when we got to our room. It was spotless, but basic. The main drawback was that the walls were very thin, so you could hear everything happening in the other rooms. Luckily the weather was nice so we were out all day, and whenever we were back we took advantage of the sitting areas in the main space. We would recommend that you stay in the manor itself.

Very nice traditional swedish manor. Lovely atmosphere! The old rooms are nicely decorated. The bathrooms are quite small but functional. But don't expect too much luxury. There's also a nice (but rather expensive) restaurant. The included breakfast buffet is tasty and offers typical food from Dalarna. The hotel is situated in walking distance to the centre of Leksand and directly at lake Siljan. The beach is also close by. Friendly and helpful staff. Free parking available.

Really disappointed. I have been here before and received a nice room. Since I enjoyed it so much a couple of years ago, I wanted to share the experience with my boyfriend and brought him here. This time we received a room in the bottom floor, clearly for the disabled. You have to walk through a conference room to get there, window by the parking, toilet directly next to/in the shower. I had asked for a double bed and got 2 separate ones. I wanted this to be the highlight of our trip and am so unbelievably disappointed. Some locals informed me of an owner change which has had some effects on this hotel. If you book here, then check that you don’t pay over 2000.- Kronor for this room. This room should be half of this price if not less since it is not at all comparable to the other rooms.

I was staying in the hotel and decided to visit the restaurant one evening with my colleagues. They have varieties of tapas and desserts. We have tried all types of tapas. All of them are very good. And the creme brûlée at the end was spot on. The hotel surrounding is beautiful and scenic. There is a trail next to water. I would love to visit there again.

Beautifuly located, intimate and charming.|Looking very promissing.||Unfortunately we got a room next to a loud outdoor electric generator so that destroyed a bit of the peacefull first impression. |Nice restaurant but not very pleasant service- after we got menu the weitress woman was coming back every 10 seconds to impatiently ask if we already decided on something. Food was delishous but still the dinner was a bit stressing becuse of really grumpy service.||Very mixed impressions- some things are great some not really.
