The best thing about this budget hotel:||Cheap. RM60.00 (and RM10.00 deposit) for a queen-bed room (suitable for two adults) with a clean private bathroom. ||Suitable for a single and short stay. ||The room has a brand new lcd tv (astro), aircon, an old broken cupboard and a hanger, a small mirror in the bathroom, a pair of bathroom slippers, a weirdly brown-coloured towel, a small piece of soap, a small bottle of drinking water, a sejadah and enough space for a Muslim to do his/her prayer. Bedsheets look like the oldtime but clean.||Just a walking distance to the famous Pahang's royal desserts shop, Royal Pudding.||In the evening, the open parking around the hotel is free.||||WHAT I DISLIKE ABOUT THIS HOTEL (please ready for my outbursts):||||Situated in an old building where the safety and security procedures were unheard during the construction of the building; so the higher your room situated the more concerned about safety if fire broke out. If you decided to stay here, please check out the emergency route first before you settle down in your room for good.||||Not suitable for a family with young children or senior citizen because there is no elevator/lift to get you to the rooms on 1st, 2nd or 3rd level. You have to climb the steep narrow but high stairs to get to your room. And from one level to another, you have to climb quite high and can be a challenging thing to do if you carried some heavy and big suitcases. Fuh. ||||Oh and I found some mosquitoes inside the room trying to get to me. I guess i shouldnt open the bathroom once I check in. Maybe the mosquitoes were from the bathroom because i cant think of any other place for them to wait for the right moment before come out and play.|| ||The free wifi? I don't have the time to check it out because it was a really really short stay and i think it barely reach the 2nd level room where i stayed.||||No 7Eleven or any other convenience store nearby. There is an eatery which open in the evening in front of the hotel and a restaurant nearby but I think the restaurant opens during working days only. ||||Found some hairs on the handheld bath sprayer shower which made me think they did not clean the bathroom properly. The hot shower looked brand new but wasnt function properly; i have to wait for sometime for the water to heat but what came out just barely lukewarm. ||||There is only one plug to charge your gadgets. And the plug situated in a highly unsuitable place. I have to be a genius and tied my smartphone onto something above me in order to charge it. So you can never use the free wifi while charging your smartphone because you have to put it up above near the tv or whatever can hold it on the walls.||||Was told that the frontdesk reception is available 24 hours but when i wanted to check out at 6.00am the next day, there was no one there. Since i was in a hurry i decided to leave the key and the tv's remote control on the front desk and just burnt the deposit. I HALALKAN TAU because it's just RM10 and because of the nostalgic feeling; during the old days when I was so so young and smartphone was still not invented, I used to enjoy staying in this hotel.||||And if it wasnt for the rude male receptionist, i would never write all of the above. I can ignore bad services because i had travel some parts of the world on my own but i can never accept a rude reception by a fellow countryman who is serving and representing my favourite budget hotel in Kuantan. For so many years since i came to work in Kuantan in the early 2000s, i had recommended this hotel to anyone who needed a budget place to stay and i remember the amazing friendly, accommodating and nice people in the front desk (where are they now?). My recent stay in July 2017 was my very first time made the booking through an online booking (previously i booked by phone calls). Before i check in I made a call to tell the hotel that i will check in a little late than usual. However I was surprised and disappointed to get a rude respond from the male reception, that i must come by the promised time or else he will give the room to others because "ada ramai lagi yang nak bilik ni!" Amboi. So diva eh. ||||With this kind of attitude, definitely will make me stay away from this hotel for a very long time.
