Tickets for foreigners are RM20. It's an interesting place where you can learn the story of a woman named Mahsuri. You can see some houses from the time when Mahsuri was alive as well as seeing some of the weapons that have been recovered from that time. It was interesting to learn something historical about the island as it's mostly known for beaches and outdoor tourism.

Lovely place.. beautiful gardens, musicians playing traditional music, information of the exhibits given clearly.. delicious food! but .. its not really pulling crowds. Maybe need to advertise / broadcast about it more actively.

Kota Mahsuri is a must-visit if you're interested in Langkawi's rich history and legends. The site offers valuable educational insights into the story of Mahsuri, complete with a museum, traditional houses, and cultural exhibits that bring the tale to life. It's an excellent place for both locals and tourists to learn about this iconic figure. However, the place could definitely benefit from better maintenance. Some areas are overgrown with bushes, and the cleanliness, especially around the walkways and open spaces, needs improvement. A bit of touch-up and landscaping would greatly enhance the overall visitor experience. With a little more care and upkeep, Kota Mahsuri has the potential to shine even more as a heritage site.

The ticket price is reasonable. The traditional music show is good too. There are lots of beautiful spot to take photos. The museum also provide the guest with lots of info. Its just the toilet, can be improved.

I think Kota Mahsuri is a must visit for people who wish to understand a little deeper of the local history and culture of Langkawi. The legend of the lady Mahsuri is quite tragic and it apparently shaped some of the history of Langkawi. It is set in a very beautiful area and there is lots to see. You can listen to some traditional music which was quite a treat. Maybe the government can spend some money on this attraction as it’s quite old and outdated. But yet again somehow it works in capturing the old kampong feel. But they can surely refresh it some, I think it will do wonders. I love this place, especially the wooden houses and the water well. That water is super rich in minerals so don’t miss refreshing yourself (no it is not drinkable) a little with it. My skin felt really soft after washing my face with it. They also have some empty bottles for RM1 each if you want to bring some well water back with you if you so wish. I believe you can bring your own empty bottles too. There are some shops in it. I bought some natural air freshener which doubles as personal fragrance and the smell is soo nice and long lastin, I wish I bought more :(

15 ringgit entry but not much to see. Should have some free activity inside.

Have to admit I wasn't expecting much but it was really interesting and we easily spent 2 hrs there. As well as inside there are lots of old building to look around. It's amazing how cool the old style buildings feel with slated floors and ratan walls designed long before the AC. The history of Langkawi was good as well. People got around on bikes up until the mid 30s when proper roads started being built. The groups playing instruments were good as well. Don't take much notice of some of the poor reviews as it was interesting. There was an entry fee of 20 Rng

I paid a very fair price for entry ticket and got to enjoy three live music bands playing traditional music for only a small audience in the morning. There are some traditional houses that give me a rough idea of where people lived on this island a few hundred years ago. The part that they need to improve most is the exhibition room where they tell the story of Mahsuri. The light was too dim and the presentation of the story needs to be more appealing. I spent the whole morning there(especially in the garden) but saw no more than 20 tourists, mostly local tourists. I think if they change the name to Museum of Folk Culture, it will attract more variety of audiences.
