Koté Sud is a dining experience that stands out as exceptional in Guadeloupe. From start to finish, it showcases a dedication to freshness, creativity, and quality that is hard to match.
The restaurant is close to the Plage de la Caravelle and has a lovely shady garden ambiance.
The menu offers unique and imaginative dishes that are beautifully plated. Everything is made in-house, and the freshness of the ingredients is evident. We even saw the owner bringing in live lobsters from a local supplier—an impressive touch that highlights the restaurant’s commitment to quality.
For our meal, we started with scallops draped in a cucumber-coconut sauce. The flavors were perfectly balanced, light yet rich, and genuinely memorable. For the main course, we chose the mahi mahi (“dorade”)—the fish of the day—glazed with passion fruit and served over an apple-potato mash. Every bite was a delightful blend of textures and flavors, showcasing the chef’s skill and creativity.
The restaurant also offers an excellent wine list and seasonal cocktails that pair beautifully with the food. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall experience.
Koté Sud combines impeccable food, thoughtful service, and a welcoming atmosphere. While Guadeloupe has many great dining options, this was, without a doubt, the highlight of our culinary experiences on the island. If you’re looking for a meal that’s both sophisticated and satisfying, this is the place to go.
