Visiting Hong Kong: 3-5 Day Suggested Itinerary (Updated 2025)

"Spanning 13 hectares, Kowloon Park is a gigantic green escape where I relax to beat the oppressive heat — it has a swimming pool, fitness center, little ponds with ducks and other birds, a Chinese garden, an aviary, the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre, and plenty of rest areas, making it one of the best places in the city to people-watch." - Matthew Kepnes

Kowloon Park is like a hidden escape right in the middle of busy Tsim Sha Tsui. Step inside and the noise of the city fades, replaced by tree-lined paths, gardens, and the sounds of birds. It’s surprisingly big, with peaceful ponds, an aviary, and even a flamingo lake that adds a touch of charm. Locals come here for tai chi, jogging, or simply relaxing, so it feels less touristy and more authentic compared to the nearby shopping chaos. The Chinese Garden with its rock formations and lotus ponds is especially calming — a great spot to slow down after a long day of exploring. Tip: Go in the morning for cooler weather and a quieter vibe. Bring a drink or snack and take your time strolling; there are plenty of benches and shaded areas. It’s free, beautiful, and a perfect reminder that even in Hong Kong’s busiest district, nature still has a place.

Kowloon Park is a true green oasis in the centre of Kowloon City. There is a huge variety of plants and flowers to enjoy. Although not especially big there are enough unique spaces to enjoy around the park. Give yourself a break from the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy some greenery!

A nice park inside the center of busy city. There are shopping malls, office buildings and nice restaurants surrounding the park. It is convenient to get to the park, just next to exit A of MTR station. In the park, you can watch birds and flowers. You may come across some cats here. Great to take a break here during a busy life.

Kowloon Park in Hong Kong is a beautiful urban oasis located in Tsim Sha Tsui, offering a peaceful escape from the city’s bustle. Originally a British Army barracks site, it was transformed into a public park in 1970 and has since become a favorite spot for locals and tourists. I visited with my friend on 26 July 2025 and spent a wonderful time exploring its gardens, bird lake, and the famous flamingo area. The park also features an aviary, Chinese Garden, water fall and walking trails. Its mix of nature, history, and recreation makes it perfect for relaxation, photography, or leisurely strolls in the heart of Kowloon.

I visited Kowloon Park one morning while I was in Hong Kong. This feels less like an urban park and more like a rainforest. It seems like the park creates its own ecosystem and climate. It was nice to watch the older people enjoying their Tai Chi, listening the birds, and forgetting that you're inside of one if the most densely populated places on Earth. There are a lot of gems surrounding the park such as a beautiful public swimming pool as well as some of the best harbour views that Hong Kong has to offer.

Quite a huge area for a park right in the middle of the city. Place is not as clean and well maintained as it is expected to be. Lot of people sitting here and there in the roadside walkway areas doing picnic. Does not really give a good impression of the place. Can spend maximum and hour here to stroll around, there are some birds here especially the flamingos that you can check out. Keep roaming around here and you can cross over to the harbour view side as well. Huge fountain in the middle of the park as well as some smaller areas where you see people dancing and practicing kung fu.

Kowloon Park is a green sanctuary in the heart of bustling Tsim Sha Tsui, and it completely exceeded my expectations! 🌳🌸 Whether you’re looking to relax, explore, or simply take a break from the city noise, this park has something for everyone. It’s beautifully laid out with spacious walking paths, shady trees, ponds, and themed gardens. Some of the highlights for me were the Lotus Pond, the peaceful Maze of Roses, and the Chinese Garden with traditional architecture and a calming vibe. You’ll also find flamingos, turtles, and koi fish, a fun surprise right in the middle of the city! There’s plenty of seating, clean surroundings, and a nice mix of locals and tourists. Despite being surrounded by skyscrapers and shopping streets, it feels calm, refreshing, and deeply connected to nature. Perfect spot for a morning walk, a quiet break, or even just to soak in the peaceful side of Hong Kong. Highly recommend spending time here if you’re in the area! 🌿
