Koyao Island Resort

The major positive thing to appreciate is the location of the resort. The view is amazing and probably the best suited location for a Thailand vacation. The villa that we actually booked was changed 2 days before our visit saying there was a repair necessitated due to strong winds however when we arrive at the resort we could see that all the villas of the same category were under a planned renovation. So, transparency is lacking. Service is not upto the mark, there's no room service and food waste/ trash was kept for a whole night and day before we called the house-keeping to clear. Two people we want to appreciate for their service 1. Kelvin for arranging a Long tail boat on request in a quick time & 2. Leon for arranging the scooters with side cars from outside (as the resorts scooters were rented already) upon request in a short time. |We couldn't appreciate the surprises as the pre-booked and confirmed services were also rescheduled with a simple 'sorry, there's a problem'.

We stayed at this property during a family trip to Thailand with two kids. While the location and layout of the villa were beautiful, our experience was mixed and, unfortunately, disappointing in several important ways. 👍 What we appreciated: The staff were polite, friendly, and genuinely tried to help. When we raised concerns, they responded kindly and even offered us a complimentary delicious dinner with wine in an effort to make things right. The natural surroundings and villa design were visually appealing, making a great first impression. 👎 What went wrong: The cleanliness of the villa was a major issue—especially in the bathrooms, where we found dirty spots that had clearly been missed. The most serious problem was the infestation of cockroaches. This was not a one-time issue. We were killing several cockroaches each night before going to bed, and even found some under a tablet on the nightstand in the morning. The staff attempted an evening cleaning, but this did not solve the problem. The restaurant was also inconvenient and didn’t meet the quality standards expected for a resort of this type. ⚠️ Important Warning: If you are uncomfortable with bugs—especially cockroaches—this may not be the right place for you. Despite the staff’s efforts, the pest issue severely impacted our comfort and sleep. ❌ Final thoughts: While the setting is undeniably beautiful and the staff was well-intentioned, the lack of cleanliness and the severe cockroach issue made it impossible for us to relax and enjoy our stay. Sadly, we cannot recommend this property, especially for families or anyone sensitive to hygiene or insects.

Wonderful Stay at Koyao Island Resort We had an amazing time at Koyao Resort. The location is stunning, right on a peaceful beach with breathtaking views. Our villa was spacious, beautifully designed, and very comfortable. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and the food was fresh and delicious. We loved the relaxed atmosphere and the natural beauty all around us. It was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation for our family. We left the resort with a bag full of memories and would love to come back one day – thank you for a truly unforgettable stay!

Couldn’t recommend more highly - incredible spot and views. Simple, but thoughtful and very well cared for. Great breakfasts, super fresh bbq whole white snapper and phad se eiw were the food highlights. We stayed in a family villa which worked well for us (2 young kids). Staff are all so friendly and helpful. Wonderful to have sea kayaks and paddle boards on tap. Frank and I went and discovered our own private beach. 🏝️ Thanks so much 🙏🏼

Very nice, peaceful resort. Love villa room. Good beach. Friendly, courteous staff. Nok, the masseuse was excellent and the massage rates were very reasonable, restaurant food quite good.||Some suggestions for improvement:||||1. The pool needs to be bigger and shadier (more tropical garden plantings, less grass). (On this trip we are stayings at 19 x 5* resorts , each for 2 day stays, across the 6 regions of southern Thailand (Phuket, Khao Lak, Koh Yau Noi, Koh Yau Yai, Ao Nang, Krabi, Phi Phi then back to Phuket). We are only up to resort number 9, but by far, to date your pool is the smallest.||||2. The gym should be located at your resort not the 9 Hornbills tented camp and you need much more equipment.

Such an incredible experience at Kayao Island Resort! We stayed in Hornbills with a private pool and the view is out of this world. Room was super comfortable and really big. It is private, peaceful and provides the perfect chance to relax. Food at hotel is excellent. Even the gym is great and the business centre provides the perfect opportunity to get some work done in the most spectacular setting if so desired. We will definitely be back.

This is an amazing boutique experience on the best island in Thailand. The views, grounds, and rooms were all stunning. The service was great and the restaurant was delicious. We rented a bikes and scooters and went around the whole island. It was truly a breathtaking experience. WARNING: that being said, this hotel has a "connect with nature" concept without fully enclosed rooms, so there will be bugs and you will get bites. They do provide repellent and mosquito nets for sleeping, but some amount of bites are probably inevitable. Still beautiful but keep that in mind.

For the second time, we spent splendid relaxing days at this beautiful spot. The tranquility and views are hard to beat. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the cuisine is simply delicious. The perfect location for anyone looking for peace and to get spoilt.
