This place is in an amazing location and has all the facilities you need to escape everyday life and/or a standard hotel room for a bit.||We stayed in the storm house and had a nice room at the top with a toilet and view of the lighthouse. We loved the kitchen facilities and lounge room. We stopped at the supermarket (10 min drive) on the way in and got some groceries and made our own dinner and breakfast. It sounds a little silly being excited about making your own meal but I found it enjoyable after living out of tiny hotel rooms and restaurants for a few weeks now. ||At first we were disappointed that it was raining and windy but then it ended up adding to the atmosphere. We were cosy inside and the sounds of the storm, waves and birds outside made it incredibly relaxing. We did some reading, planned our trip, edited some photos, sat by the candle lights, spotted things through the binoculars and took a time lapse of the storm. ||The lighthouse is owned by the government but has a lady staying on site to help look after the place in the summer. Another family also share this role year round and live about an hour away. She drove across to visit us and you pay her with cash. This is because the reception signal isn't the best so the card machine doesn't always work properly. She was lovely and showed us around the lighthouse, helped take photos and spoke to us about the history of the place. We really appreciated her answering our questions by messaging us leading up to the stay and taking the time to drive out and do this for us! ||There isn't a lot to do either than go for a walk and relax so I personally wouldn't stay more than 2 nights. It is also pretty expensive considering you pay extra for towels and sheets and there are no meals included. ||Overall though we did it for the experience and I'm glad we did! ||Follow us on Instagram: @stirling111
